Hatone

This is quite surprising for a first game from a developer—this game is way too cool! I can definitely say that while the boss fights are challenging, they’re also the best part of the experience. And most importantly, they’re elevated by an absolutely fantastic soundtrack! As for cons, I could mention some odd design choices in certain levels—specifically with a few obstacles—and there were a couple of moments where it wasn’t entirely clear where to go next. Though, honestly, that might just be my memory failing me!

Nice retro platformer with metroidvania elements, beat 100% in about 7 hours. Be waiting for the new levels or sequel.

Hatone is a 2D Action Platformer with Retro graphics bringing back the old childhood memories of NES Classics. You play as Hatman on an adventure filled with secrets and mysteries. The game is fun and short and encourages replayability, lots of secrets to uncover and challenge rooms filled with enemies who will try to overwhelm you. The music is thrilling and very engaging, especially during boss battles. The bosses are also challenging and will test your quick reactions and dodging speed. If you love Action Platformers especially those with Retro NES graphics, then this is a very good recommendation which is also made by a solo developer. Overall Rating 10/10

音乐音质和画风有着一股古老的年代感味道。有一种怀旧向风格。操作上简单明了，手感方面中规中矩。boss设计略显有一些难度。但总体水平还是不错。有不同的结局可以解锁，但是得找出3件隐藏道具。才能开出真结局。虽然没有中文，但是游玩过程中并无大碍。可以一玩。

This game is a masterpiece It has everything a good game should have, and all its elements complement each other perfectly. to begin with, the game perfectly conveys the vibe of the 90s with the help of the beautiful sound and visual design of retro games, and of course the main character. a certain HATONE, my God, half of the modern characters just pale in comparison to this MAN. after all, his charisma and brutality are just 10 out of 10 real heroes of that time. and of course, the GAMEPLAY here should be used only with a capital letter. The GAMEPLAY is excellent and multifaceted, there are both elements of platforming and exploration, and they are tied to each other, and of course the COMBAT SYSTEM. At first glance, does it seem like she's missing something? but believe me, this is not the case, the combat system here is excellent, every boss battle proves it. Well, in the end, the game just has a ton of humor and references. 10 hats out of 10

Hatone starts off looking pretty simple, but it turns out to be way more clever than you'd expect. The style is clean and colorful, and the vibe is just really cool overall. The main idea is that you can switch between different versions of the level to solve puzzles—like if something doesn’t work in one, try flipping to another and boom, problem solved. It’s a super fun mechanic that keeps things fresh the whole time. The controls are a bit unusual at first, but once you figure them out, everything starts to click. Beating each level feels really satisfying, and the electronic music in the background totally helps you stay in the zone. The only real downside is that it’s a bit short. Just when you’re really into it, it kind of wraps up. Would’ve loved a few more levels, honestly. But even as it is, Hatone is a really fun little indie game that does something cool and different. If you like puzzle games that make you think without stressing you out, it’s definitely worth a try.

It's a little short if you don't want to achievement hunt but it's a solid game.
