About
For the very first time on PC, play through Jin Sakai’s journey and discover the complete Ghost of Tsushima experience in this Director’s Cut.
In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan.
As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, courageous samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands resolute. As one of the last surviving members of his clan, Jin is resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.

The best and worst thing I can say about Ghost of Tsushima is that it's what Assasins Creed Shadows should have been. It has a gorgeous open world, deep seated Samurai/Japanese lore (not from there but I can't see it being less respectful/honouring of it than the AC game was), an actually good story with well rounded characters that grow and evolve, and generally enjoyable combat and gameplay that strikes a balance between stealth and assasinations being a perfectly valid play-style, but also an entirely optional one you can mix-and-match or forever ignore at your leisure. The bad is it took a few ideas too many from AC to its detriment. The large map has a lot of filler quests and side-hustle things that eventually start feeling like pointless filler meant to keep your gametime up. Many sidequests become repetitive and like they have no real consequence or contribution to the state of the story or world. Assasinations use the same stupid "press this button but only if and when it pops up contextually otherwise it will just be a normal attack" approach as AC - and are as (if not maybe worse) terrible as actually properly showing up when they actually should've, leaving you in very precarious positions. And things like the game's camera being terrible at tracking enemies (to the point that it's easier and better to play without any kind of auto-focus enabled) and Jin losing the plot about where an enemy is and often just stabbing/swinging in the wrong direction do get frustrating at times. But AC has made good business at never getting any of these right for 20 years and counting, so why should we give these guys too much grief on the first entry of what (I'd say we all hope) becomes a series? Overall, this is a pretty good game, and - not that it means that much, it is better than AC Shadows in every possible, conceivable way. By a very long distance. Even when they sometimes mostly try to do the same things.

Steam deleted my review so after changing to not recommending it so I'll be brief. The story is interesting and then takes a nose dive, the writers are at best dull and at worst morons, The combat is fun but too restrictive at times The visuals are good but will only age Get it if you're a weeb or like somewhat complex fighting (at the start) I'd wait for a sale if nothing else Also has unskippable haikus and changed my keyboard layout to japanese for some reason (every time I played it)
