In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan.
As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, courageous samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands resolute. As one of the last surviving members of his clan, Jin is resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I don’t really know what to say. This game feels like my childhood dream come true. Ghost of Tsushima instantly broke into my top 15, maybe even top 10 favorite video games of all time, and now holds a special place in my heart. Is it a flawless 10/10 masterpiece? No. But for me, it is special, and that is all that matters. This title takes me back to the PS3 era, when everything felt simpler and games were meant to be enjoyed. Now let’s get to business. [Style] 4.5 out of 5 Where this game truly shines is its art direction. Almost every frame feels like a piece of art. It looks gorgeous, as if traditional Japanese paintings came to life. Every region has its own distinct visual flavor and aesthetic, but at the same time, everything remains unmistakably Japanese. At least Japanese in the pop-cultural sense: golden forests, high temples, beautiful gardens, hidden Inari shrines, and, of course, blooming sakura. The experience is deeply cinematic, with recognizable influences from traditional samurai cinema. I also checked both the English and Russian dubs, and they are pretty good. But I still think that playing this game with any voice-over other than Japanese is a crime against art. You should at least give the Japanese dub a try. That said, I feel like taking away half a point for the music. It is a bit too Western for my taste. I am not saying it is bad, and there are some truly great tracks, but more taiko drums, shamisen, biwa, and similar traditional elements would have gone a long way and made the immersion even stronger. [Substance] 3.5 out of 5 What about the game itself? This is where things become more complicated. The gameplay is solid, and I am very fond of it. The game never becomes too easy, even when you fully upgrade everything. There are always new enemies and situations that make you think at least a little. For example, every outpost has a small additional task, like “eliminate a number of enemies using a specific skill,” and this little detail pushes you out of your comfort playstyle and encourages you to try new tactics. By the end of the game, I even had spare upgrade points with no more skills left to invest them in. There is also a good variety of armor sets and charms, so almost everyone can find their preferred playstyle. Want to be a samurai and face enemies with pride? Absolutely. Want to be an archer and take out enemies before they can even close in? No problemo. Want to become an unkillable parry god? Yeah, very much possible. A lot of side stories are short, but enjoyable. Many of them have, let’s say, “The Witcher” vibe. You know what I mean. I have no complaints here. Where I do have a problem is the Iki Island DLC. By itself, the island is beautiful. It has some of the best and toughest enemies in the game, additional activities, great armor sets, and so on. But the storyline is really weak. The main game’s plot is not particularly complex either, but at least it is competent, has a great supporting cast, and tells relatable stories. Iki Island tries to go for the infamous “grey morality,” but does it in such an in-your-face way that it becomes annoying. I came to a supposed samurai game not to be lectured with “
le samurai were bad actually.
” There is no real tension or clash of worldviews like in the main story. The Iki Island plot would have been at least slightly redeemed in my eyes if it had offered
a choice at the end
, à la the main game. But as it stands, I cut off a whole point for this. I also take away 0.5 points for cheap animations and the lack of even basic camerawork in most side quests. Come on, even JRPGs know how to make this stuff look good. Total score: 8 out of 10 A solid above-average experience. Must play for any Kamakura Japan and samurai enjoyers.
I bought this game for my PS5 and pc. It's so good and definitely worth the money.
really good game, perfect landscapes, perfect combat system, just a shame the save system aint working properly, i saved the game after i completed a main story quest 2 times since the first save was before i spent a technique point therefore i saved again after using the point, i died trying to save an outpost half an hour later, the game reloaded me on the main story mission again completly lost all the interest since i dont see auto-save nor my manual saves working properly, that and the annoying fact that you cant skip the cutscenes you already saw, meaning a newbie like me trying to play on hard or even lethal difficulty is going to spend more time watching cutscenes than playing the actual game, yet i do recommend the game it is beautiful it's not because my unpleasent experience that im gonna try to put you guys down, just keep up the good job both games of the franchise are perfect just use this to make a few teawks for future games or whatever your future is. BTW if this gets to Playstation or Sucker Punch Studios pls can we get acess to the entire Sly Cooper franchise on steam that would be perfect
A cure for gaming burnout. After years of "gaming impotence" where story-driven games just left me completely bored, Ghost of Tsushima finally broke the curse. It brought back those pure, vivid emotions from my childhood, reminding me of what I felt when I played the very first Assassin's Creed. It captures that classic vibe perfectly, even considering the game is originally 5 years old. The story and graphics are absolutely phenomenal. The world is so breathtakingly beautiful that I almost never used fast travel. I just wanted to ride my horse, take in the scenery, and never rush the journey. The combat and core gameplay mechanics are somewhat primitive, but they feel incredibly smooth and satisfying. I played on Hard (the second-highest difficulty). I tried the highest setting, but the enemy archers quickly became incredibly frustrating, so I dialed it back down to enjoy the process. The character progression and leveling system are decent enough. It’s not flawless, though. The side quests are pretty uninspired and repetitive—mostly your typical "fetch this, kill him, liberate that camp" formula. Another letdown is the lack of proper animations or cutscenes for minor interactions; too often, you just get a fade-to-black screen, which feels outdated and breaks the immersion. Despite its flaws, I highly recommend this game, especially to anyone who shares a deep appreciation for Japanese culture, aesthetics, and philosophy. I’ve logged over 60 hours so far, and I already know I’ll be coming back to replay it in a few years
