About

Frostpunk 2 elevates the city-survival genre to a new level. Take the role of a Steward and lead your city through a cascade of calamities taking place in a postapocalyptic, snowy setting. Build large city districts with their string of endless needs and demands. Navigate through conflicting interests of factions that populate your metropolis. As the needs of the city grow and factional power at its core rises, only you can steer the society towards an uncertain future.

The world is overtaken by an ever present winter, which makes expansion of the city the only way for the survival of mankind. In order to grow, the metropolis needs resources like coal and oil, just like its citizens require food and warmth. In Frostpunk 2, it's your job to tackle this never ending circle of supply and demand.

The number of your citizens steadily grows, making the task of governing them and satisfying their demands all the more challenging. As the Steward you will have to maneuver carefully across the interests of many groups inhabiting the city.

People of your city want to have a voice in how you run things. Each faction has its own ideology and ideas for the future, yet they also have one thing in common - insatiable thirst for power. Choose your allies in the Council Hall wisely.

Make tough life-and-death decisions as you allocate heat across your city, supported by new research topics and heat-oriented laws. Choose districts that need the most warmth with the help of the Heat Management system with a detailed temperature overlay.

The story of Frostpunk 2 introduces a multi-chapter saga set in the frozen wastes. Spanning across the life of the Steward this campaign lets you feel the burden of leadership as you take the responsibility for thousands of lives. At the same time, the sandbox mode called Utopia Builder with infinite play time leaves you room for boundless social and infrastructural experiments.

Frostpunk 2 comes with a comprehensive and versatile modding tool. FrostKit will let you create your own maps, models, and scenarios inside the game. Now, only your imagination can limit the destination your city is heading to!

DLC拉完了,莫名其妙的机制,稀烂的几乎等于没有的剧情,可笑的结局。
Szeretném szeretni, de közel az összes egyediségét ami az első részben volt más hasonló játékokhoz képest és ezen a DLC se segített.
Basically, the best strategy game

The good
I really like this game. Spent tens of hours here and wnat to recommend doing the same to others. It's hard to explain why, because the concept of political-drama-narrative-driven-strategy is a bit sophisticated to sell. It's like promoting "Ulysses" at IKEA instructions store. The problem with strategy games is that most of the time they look like Excel spreadshit. Frostpunk is the first one to look like an actual game. Furthermore, the work of art-designers is THAT good, that you can actually call it a piece of art. Most of the games that push for cinematic experience and narative deepness - make surprisingly low effort to do so, compared to this funnly little polish experience of surviving winter in Quebeck. This game will grasp your soul and capture your heart via its story, if you're deliberate enough to read into it. The soundtrack is en excellent orchestral work that lives rent-free in my earphones for 2 years since game has launched. Violins are making spectacular job at making you feel the hope and anguish of the city, enhancing overall experience of the game. UI-designers should be given a memorial for making such awesome job. It's the most fluid, minimalistic and stylish interface that I've seen. The gameplay is solid. It's challenging, demanding of attention and all brain capacity to utilise on harder difficulties. If main campaign seems rather easy, then Utopia Builder can cinfidently kick your ass. Restarting 5 times in a row is a regular quota. Still, it's really fun. Once you get hang of juggling 10 different systems at once and your consiousness is fine with demolishing democracy, it becomes hard to remember that you have a life outside a monitor. I, actually, have almost not defended my economical bachelor degree, due to the doomsayers, occupuing medial disrticts, while plague was devouring my citizens, while council... well, you get me.
The bad
Optimisation is not good at all. Game freezes literally and metaphorically when: weather changes; you choose new buildings; you switch from city, to city; the population is too big; game autosaves; and further down it goes. The game is extremely demanding to the system specs and it may be one of the reasons game didn't sell as much as it deserved. It's basically not that much people in the world, who can run this game.
The arguable
Now we step into the deeps of uncertainty. Mathematically speaking, FP2 has more content than FP1. The main campaign is longer, more complex has more variability, the DLC's are bigger, more versatile, but... FP2 FEELS smaller, despite having more grandeur scale. When in FP1 you had a time system days-hours-minutes, with changing sun, you felt as if one day equals to mini-level. One scenario took aboout 30 days and each of them felt like a small dofferent game, that combined gave you a full completed experience. FP2 operates in weeks that fly by the seconds without changing weather. The sense of passing time and progression feels vague as if no time has passed at all. The city grows, the laws are passed, the same amount of real hours has passed, but the feeling is, as if you were somehow frozen in time and nothing has happened at all. It's more of a vibe thing, rather then a mechanic one. But most of the mixed reviews are coming exactly from the vibes. The writing has become even better, the music is still soul-tearing, the gameplay makes all the logical steps to make an expansion on the first part, but also introduce something novel and etc. The overall quality is great, it just needs some polishing at making it FEEl right.
In conclusion, I would like to say...
There is a moment, when you sign a law "Dedicated motherhood" - you basically force women to be only mothers in your society. Your delegates say that there is one, who, despite the law, doesn't want to be a mother only, but also a bookwriter. Should you act persistent in pursuing the book of law, she will leave the world on her own accords, but should you allow writing, the next event will appear "Steward, Virginia Stephen, the woman whose manuscript you returned earlier, has finished her novel, 'Cantos Shrieked By Unseen Voices.' The book's nearly one thousand pages are riddled with obscure metaphors and cryptic references. It's sparked a heated debate amongst its readers regarding its intended meaning. What we can agree on is the general sense of paranoia, pain and loathing. She has dedicated it to you" I've tried to recommend this game to many of my friends, but only retelling this small story made them say "F*ck, now I get why you like it". Maybe you will like it to.
