About

Frostpunk 2 elevates the city-survival genre to a new level. Take the role of a Steward and lead your city through a cascade of calamities taking place in a postapocalyptic, snowy setting. Build large city districts with their string of endless needs and demands. Navigate through conflicting interests of factions that populate your metropolis. As the needs of the city grow and factional power at its core rises, only you can steer the society towards an uncertain future.

The world is overtaken by an ever present winter, which makes expansion of the city the only way for the survival of mankind. In order to grow, the metropolis needs resources like coal and oil, just like its citizens require food and warmth. In Frostpunk 2, it's your job to tackle this never ending circle of supply and demand.

The number of your citizens steadily grows, making the task of governing them and satisfying their demands all the more challenging. As the Steward you will have to maneuver carefully across the interests of many groups inhabiting the city.

People of your city want to have a voice in how you run things. Each faction has its own ideology and ideas for the future, yet they also have one thing in common - insatiable thirst for power. Choose your allies in the Council Hall wisely.

Make tough life-and-death decisions as you allocate heat across your city, supported by new research topics and heat-oriented laws. Choose districts that need the most warmth with the help of the Heat Management system with a detailed temperature overlay.

The story of Frostpunk 2 introduces a multi-chapter saga set in the frozen wastes. Spanning across the life of the Steward this campaign lets you feel the burden of leadership as you take the responsibility for thousands of lives. At the same time, the sandbox mode called Utopia Builder with infinite play time leaves you room for boundless social and infrastructural experiments.

Frostpunk 2 comes with a comprehensive and versatile modding tool. FrostKit will let you create your own maps, models, and scenarios inside the game. Now, only your imagination can limit the destination your city is heading to!

This game is a almost perfect successor to the first one. It just feels like a logic next step from the events of Frost punk 1. The first one it's more personal and your making decisions mainly on survival Cause it was only a few hundred people at most and your stuck in a small crater. Now your in the thousands and finally expanding out of the crater. I seen more reviews saying it's not personal enough and just does not have the same vibe at the first. I do somewhat agree but also what else could they do? when there are more people and cities expand. Of course it would get less personal. you can't focus and feel close to thousand upon thousands of new souls. Either way. I love most of the mechanics in the game but I feel they have to tweak the politics. It just feels at times your just babysitting the two factions and becoming captain feels to overpowered, just being able to fully control the council and simply ignoring what anyone thinks even in late game just feels to easy. One thing I wish had more detail was District generation. It really feels random buildings and thrown onto the snow and some care of where it goes but also not really. The roads just go into builds and I see automatons and trains disappear into them. And I honestly feel it makes no sense for there to be snow on the ground in districts when they are warm. The first game had snow disappear in a heat zone. why can't that happen here? and they need to put in roads between Just cause it makes sense. Despite all that. It's really a great game that clearly had a massive amount of love and time into it. Get the first game before this one not only cause it's slightly better but it makes sense.
Played the first Frostpunk and loved it, 2 is also great with new mechanics differing from the first, although the power dynamics was a little hard at first makes it challenging and i now love doing politics.
honestly this game really is not that terrible its just the trailers and ads really did not do this game any justice. The trailers really did make the game play look really lame and no where near the original but in its own right it's gameplay is similar but far more complex and micro-managie and overall was really fun to play and reminded me of the old game play while playing different. This game truly is a different experience entirely and while I say its similar to the first games gameplay it really just a different experience gameplay wise and the game does further the story from the first game quite a bit. the game does go full elden ring on you by giving you a very basic tutorial and just kind of chucking you into a hell scape where you figure things out on the fly and through save scumming. Is the game fun? yes. Is it better gameplay wise to the first game? no but the comparison is hard since its quite different. would I have paid full price for it on day one? no probably not but I'm very patient and poor so I almost always wait for a deal. oh also the graphics are really good but the UI is a mess thats one of my first genuine issue with the game the UI is overwhelming, confusing, and distracting at times.

I loved the first frostpunk. This one is differen, I don't know if it is better or worse. But this stupid floaty camera gives me nausea... 100 complains everywhere and they don't fix it. I hope some day they fix it so I can finally play the game. I can't believe this game run through testers and noone said nothing against that. Also the game works horrible and I have a recent PC with a RTx 5060, broken sound, resolution problems even with everything on minimum...
