About

Discover the possibilities of our arsenal, with weapons, gear, and abilities that are equal parts authentic and creative. Explore different tactical approaches to any situation, whether you’re setting an ambush or taking back the initiative. Build your own unique loadouts that match your playstyle. From Beetles to Tarot Cards, there’s a tool for every job. Lightweight inventory management keeps you focused on the game rather than your backpack. Survive and level up your Hunter. But don’t get complacent, as even the best gear won’t save you. Combat is balanced so that everyone has a fair chance.

The world has teeth. Experience ravaged landscapes and twisted monstrosities deep in the forgotten corners of the American West. With four massive maps, transformative weather conditions, and fresh changes every season, you’ll always have something new to see. Whether you’re outrunning a wildfire or stalking under the cover of heavy rain, make no mistake: From Mammon’s Gulch to Lawson Delta, the Corruption has seeped into everything.

Rely on your ears just as much as your eyes. Sound is vital: the warning cries of nearby monsters. Dogs barking in the distance at enemy Hunters on your trail. The metallic clinks of a weapon being reloaded in the other room. From creaking floorboards to snapping twigs, every sound could make the difference between survival and disaster. So, watch where you step. Hold your fire when you can. And if you find your ears are left wanting more, listen to the haunting melodies of Port Sulphur Band, exclusive to Hunt: Showdown 1896.

Danger lurks around every corner. The dead have risen and are hungry, but rival players are the deadlier threat. The gunshots will close in from every direction. Every Hunter is competing for the same prize, which turns every match into a deadly showdown. When you finally make contact, ride the adrenaline rush. Every second matters, every bullet counts, and the smallest decisions will seal your fate. The biggest risks for the highest rewards.

Trust is survival. Choose your team wisely as another pair of eyes can be the difference between life and death. Share your triumph in duos or trios. When you’re ready, take the challenge hunting solo. Relish your hard-earned victories, it’s taking the bounty that matters. Whether your match ended in a haul of loot or the cold embrace of death, know your fellow Hunters have walked that same line. As they say, Hunt Giveth or Hunt Taketh.

Express the way you play. Recruit from a diverse roster of Hunters, including Wild West gunslingers, twisted fanatics, and legendary warriors from further afield. Arm them with an array of distinctive weapons, from exquisite firearms to brutal, improvised hammers. With hundreds of unlocks and customizations beyond your Hunter and gear, no one will Hunt quite like you.

Reviews
If you love to play on europe server with chinese ping abusers and germany push campers and russian cheaters, Hunt is right game for you ! <3
Been playing for 3,000 hours at this point. And at a very high level for at least the last 1,500 of those hours. I don't think there has ever been a better time for a new player to get into Hunt. The game is the most balanced it's ever been. The game is the deepest in terms of knowledge and tactics that its ever been, too. I see lots of comments here about how much better hunt "used" to be, but to me they just read as hopeless nostalgia from a time when the reviewer was new at the game and everything was exciting and novel. I don't like using the word "objectively" in reviews, but I do think objectively that most of the criticisms of the game that you see recently posted are either things that: A) have ALWAYS been criticisms going back to at least 2020 (ask me how I know, I was there!) B) Are mitigated by just knowing more about the game C) Show people are just salty that their weaponry/strategies are finally receiving a long overdue balance change. I would absolutely encourage anybody curious about this game to pick it up. It's one of a small handful of truly unique shooters you can play these days. There are still issues with the game, of course. However: A) Most of these issues don't make themselves apparent until high-level play B) Problematic strategies are annoying but generally unpopular to play C) The game is receiving lots of balance and bugfixing attention constantly. Get it!
This game rewards patience, strategy, and teamwork. Every victory feels truly earned. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience in the FPS genre.
This game is full of cheaters. Reporting cheaters is useless when there's no real-time check and you see the same guy wrecking lobbies for weeks after reports. We need action, not a placebo report button.
The number of likes under this review will be converted into the number of eggplants in developers' asses. P.S. Fix your servers and start dealing with cheaters Crytec.
beta tested and have played this game off and on. Pros: great simple extraction shooter Dont need a crazy build to play the game keeps blood flowing Cons as of 2026: CHEATERs server hop to U.S. servers Updates are goin in the wrong direction Adding too much stuff and changing things that dont need fixing Sum: is a great game but would get it if it goes on sale and set a timer for 1hour 30min for a refund
Hunt: Showdown is the only game where you can spend 25 minutes playing like a tactical genius, outsmart two teams, banish the boss, carefully scan every window... and then get instantly headshot by a guy hiding in a bush whose heart rate never exceeded 40 BPM. Was I mad? Absolutely. Was it my fault? Also absolutely. That's the magic of Hunt. Every death feels like the game handing you a receipt. You could have checked that angle. You could have rotated sooner. You could have stopped sprinting across an open field while humming "Fortunate Son." The PvE monsters exist purely to announce your terrible decisions to every human within a three-mile radius. Crows are government spies. Horses are paid actors. Ducks have a personal vendetta against stealth. And somewhere nearby is a Cain-shaped problem who heard all of it. Every gunfight feels like a scene from a Western directed by someone who enjoys emotional damage. One bullet can end your career, but that goes both ways. Winning isn't about having the biggest magazine—it's about staying calm while your palms are sweating hard enough to qualify as a weather event. The sound design deserves criminal levels of praise. I now know the difference between someone walking on wood, mud, metal, glass, and "oh no, that's directly behind me." Hunt is brutally unforgiving, but it's almost never unfair. When you lose, you usually learn something. When you win, you feel like you've outsmarted an entire lobby. No killstreaks. No magic minimap. Just nerves, strategy, and questionable life choices. 10/10. Would willingly lose another level-50 hunter because I thought, "One more peek won't hurt."
Matchmaking is a genuine joke, as a new player i am being placed into lobby with player who have been 50-100+ prestige, barley get a chance to learn the mechanics of the game before some player who has thousands of hours of experience has jumped in and took me out immediatly, would be a fin game if i could just be placed into lobbies with people who have similar experience to me.
This game puts you against bots long enough so you cant get a refund, then all of your games after will be against prestige 40 solo's who clear your whole team with a shotgun
Horrible experience every time
