FF12 is a sleeper in the FF series that I don't feel like is appreciated enough. Playing the games in order, I found myself enjoying the gameplay of FF12 more than any of the prior games. FF12 took a more exploratory approach to gameplay than all the prior games, opting to turn their ATB system into a more MMO like one where you can move in the environment while fighting. Although I also enjoyed gameplay when it cut out to a static battle, this new system really added some spice into the game while also remaining loyal to most of the old combat mechanics. A lot of the same spells, items, abilities return in some way or another, and the ability to move added new ways to use old strategies. FF12 also has both leveling and the license board, which is kind of like the sphere grid in FF10. The license board for each character basically determined their class, and swapping classes is pretty simple. This kept gameplay refreshing as you unlocked new abilities/weapons/equipment in the boards and then equipped it to grow stronger. It really felt like I was given a lot of freedom to play the way I wanted to. On the topic of freedom, the actual world itself also gives an insane amount of freedom. Similar to how the gameplay is more MMO like, the world is also more MMO like. Most FF games start pretty linear, but open up over time as you unlock things like boats and aircrafts. However, FF12 starts off quite open from the start. Although there are story areas that the game pushes you to and some places cannot be accessed so early on, the map is honestly largely open right from the start. You can pretty much begin exploring and doing side content right away, and I did quite a bit. Speaking of side content, FF12 honestly promotes you to do it with hunts, which are basically like quests to fight bosses. Some of these bosses get quite hard if you are doing them underleveled, but level up a bit + get more equipment and most are manageable. With the addition of hunts, FF12 probably has more bosses than two prior games combined. There are so many bosses and mini-bosses, and that really kept the game fresh. Now onto my only real gripe of the game... the story. FF12 tries to craft this grand political intrigue adventure, like a Star Wars type of story. The story was honestly much larger than prior games, and I appreciated their attempts. However, I just found myself thinking the story was the weakest part. It really felt like things weren't really fully thought out and a lot of parts of it were a mess/felt very random. Good thing is, the gameplay was fun enough that I often just found myself enjoying the experience and not needing to worry about the story. Though the story is a mess, I did enjoy the characters, especially ones like Balthier. Most of the characters grew on me over time, with Vann and Penelo honestly being the two that stood out the least to me. Overall, I think FF12 is a very solid exploratory entry in the FF series with very fun gameplay, but a bit messy of a story. I would recommend anyone who is a fan of FF series to give this one a go.
DO NOT buy the game, as of 6/30/2026, there is a Fatal Error crash when loading your game save! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY FOR THIS!
jogo fd, joguei mt no ps4 e comprei no pc, melhor final fantasy, muitas memorias e uma pena n ter tradução.
game is cool, but the current version have a memory bug that crashes the game at the start up. luckly there seens to be a mod to fix it. anyways, until it is officially fixed by the company, it is a thumbs down for this one
Nach Final Fantasy X eines der besten FFs mMn.
I had a really good time with this game, albeit with a lot of confusion regarding the progression system. Pros: + The world is MASSIVE with a ton of hidden stuff to find. The maps are all uniques. The cities, towns, and settlements all feel alive and bustling with NPC activities with dialogues that constantly change based on your progress, hinting you on side bosses you can find once they're available. + Very streamlined gameplay. Pop in, go to a map, and let your gambits do their job. No field-to-battle transitions, no victory posing every 10 seconds, it's all one smooth flow. + Story is fairly grounded, but I was still invested in it. The main plot itself is short and you get all the background lores from optional areas and NPCs. One thing I know is that Vaan is massively overhated, dude contributed quite a lot to the cast. Basch barely did anything... + The soundtrack... so full of whimsy and adventure... Cons: - I liked how the game progresses at first; farming stuff, getting LPs, selling monster loots, buy equipments, unlock more licenses and so on, but a lot of it feels like nothing happening. They're barely explained & very clunky to navigate. Say you see a license that unlocks Ribbon. What does a Ribbon do, and do I want to be on the lookout for it? Tough luck, google it. - Job combinations matter way less than I thought. Really, it's all in the gear you have, which just turns the license system into a "how do you unlock the BiS gear" puzzle. - In general a lot of this game is just cryptic. Equipment descriptions are the worst, they increase a lot more stats than what their description says. Honestly, just look up a guide for how the game works. 8/10. I only played up to Rank V hunts and finished the main plot, but I might come back for the optional contents.
最終幻想6角色和自由選擇6+6職業設計很特別,雖然是多年前PS2 PSP時代的作品 但即時戰鬥和提早佈局類似巨集系統,練等和逛地圖很有趣
Its an old ps2 game. Enjoy.
The game is different from what I normally play and it's my first step in the Final Fantasy franchise, but it's a game that really catch my heart, it feels like I'm back to early 2000s. A lot of players have trouble launching the game, and it's really disappointing that this is still happening in 2026. After reading discussions on the Steam Community and Reddit, and with a little help from ChatGPT, I found a solution. You can access this repository and click **"Standalone Version"** to download the `.zip` file. Extract it, then copy **`dinput8.dll`** and the **`config`** folder into the game's **`x64`** directory. This fixes the crash issue without requiring you to install any mod managers or other modding tools. It's a simple standalone solution that only replaces the game's memory allocator, so you can get the game running without setting up a full modding environment. What the hell is up with the resolution? It's like the bottom screen lost two chunks of screen size making it irregular compared to the top screen. And with the new steam update, I can't fix it. What are you doing, Valve?
