This game has one fundamental flaw: it's boring. Nothing really stands out. The characters are bland, the story is bland, the combat is bland, the npc interactions are bland, etc. The only thing this game has going for it is all of the lewd mods, but that's not enough to save it. Skip and find a different JRPG to play unless you're nostalgic for this particular title.
Game looks and runs great, the towns look lovely with lots of attention to detail in the environments. The Music is awesome, Voice acting is ok, sometimes awful. Story is fun and serviceable enough, Villain's can be unintentionally funny at times. Characters look great with sexy detailed outfits. Battles are fun and the ability system adds a bit more depth to the strategy. Game has lots of replay value with the multiple routes. It is a good 3D remake that is faithful to the original and expands upon on it in positive ways.
I am not a long running fan of this series so this was honestly a new take. First impression, Optimization, I don't think I ran into any issues with it, I actually remember thinking the game runs pretty smooth. Story, different stories of different characters that will all merge to a point near the end and i think there's a level of completion that is increased per ending. So, each ending is a little different until you get a "final"? I can't remember it didn't stick. It just wasn't amazing. Something something tree. Something something fairy. Music was ok, nothing to write home about, i really love in games when the beat goes hard and you hear the lyrics come in to send the hype levels up. I don't think anything like that happened in this game. but i also don't think there was anything too "Out of place" So, Basic soundtrack fitting the game and areas. Voice acting ... ... ... If you told me this was the English Va's first voice acting gig. I would believe you. One character in particular, Charlotte, just going to say it. I hate her voice. I know the VA was probably told something along the lines of ... Idk ... "Sound like a child" but ... she's the freaking white mage too so it was almost mandatory to have her in the party later. TLDR: Fun gameplay, Decent Class system, Bad English Voice Acting, Maybe watch some more reviews, I hate giving games a thumbs down but man this one just barely gets a passing grade.
Excellent remake
They did a really good job with this remake and it's pretty faithful to the 8 hours I played of the original. I liked the character cast. There are 6 unique playable characters and you can only use 3 of them per playthrough. There's lots of replay value in trying out different character combinations in newgame+. The combat was pretty fun. The story felt similar in quality to Secret of Mana. This game is on the shorter end though at 20-22 hours for a single playthrough. Newgame+ playthroughs are about 5-7 hours each.
Wanted Seiken 3 brought into the modern day for many many years, only for this crap to be dropped. It's like they took the original and remade it with a butchers knife. Had they stuck with the original formula they could have had something great, but no they just HAD to screw with things and change it, something Square Enix just LOVES to do, they are terrible at remakes. Some of the worst VA I have heard too. Also why TF does Angela squeak like a rubber duck when she jumps? Visually it looks nice but that's where the good points end. Find the original and play that instead.
The graphics are cutesy. The plot is basic. The characters are dumb. Just like Seiken Denstetsu 3 was in the 90s on ZSNES, and I loved that game anyways. It's a remake, and it does a great job - good replayability and the new content is extensive. It wont be the most challenging game you've played, unless you take it to new game +, but it's fun and sometimes you want an action rpg that doesnt make you sweat.
Can't even judge the gameplay since this game runs like ♥♥♥♥, because the devs don't care about pc players, - If you want to play the game with > 60fps then vsync is forced off no matter what settings you pick, and for some reason you get screen stuttering like you time travelled back to 2010 - if you want to stick with 60 fps (lol good luck to do that in a game with 3rd person spinning camera) its just impossible to play without feeling the urge to smash the monitor So who cares if the gameplay is good, to me this game is unplayable trash (if you are one of those homeless kids who plays this on their parents phone and you think "hehe for me 30 fps gameplay is good enough, you mad" i suggest you to get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job and stop being a parasite of society you useless specimen)
