It is a time of war. Galbadia, a Global Superpower, has declared war on Dollet, a country whose training academy is home to two personalities: the hot-headed Seifer and the 'lone wolf', Squall Leonhart. Both are equally at conflict with each other as their country is with Galbadia; to others, Squall appears lacking in team spirit, while...

best game ever played, really recomend trying it
I absolutely love this game, It's a favorite of mine. That and FFIX. Actually you can never go wrong with any of the FF series, old or new.
Excelente!!
8.5/10 Would be a 9 but -0.5 points because of the pc port issues. Definitely the most experimental game out of Final Fantasy 6-10 which leads to higher highs but also lower lows. The biggest issues I have with this game aren't with the game itself but the pc port as sometimes it just refuses to remember your key bindings. It also doesn't show what controller button to press, only which keyboard button to press. There are some sections where you have to only use the face buttons, ABXY, but there is a noticeable delay when pressing the buttons which makes those sections annoying. The junction/draw system is interesting to say the least but I still recommend anyone who wants to get into Final Fantasy add this to their list. I still can't decide between Quistis and Rinoa.
The much maligned and woefully underrated black sheep of the post-3D era final fantasy games, it's still my favorite. The PC version was always a little finicky, but at least it finally let us westerners play Chocobo World. That said, its showing on the steam version is disappointing. The audio is horrible - weird delays, glitching out entire tracks of the bgm, and at times going completely quiet. The controls are still a disaster for controller players (and the devs recommend it, for some reason?), but most of the minigames (like the train codes) are forgiving enough so far that I could get my bearings without too much trouble. I could overlook that and give it a recommend for nostalgia's sake, but for the hassle of trying to set up a 3rd party Squeenix account to even play it.
One of the greats. Will play again when Echo-S VIII theoretically fully releases
I've loved this game ever since I played it on Playstation when it had 4 disks. This is by far my favorite FF game. I really enjoyed FF10, FF15, FF7, and FF9, but FF8 holds a special place in my heart.
Great game. Play it at least once.
