Amazing port of the best game ever made. Sucks that they delisted it. Square Enix can go eat a ♥♥♥♥ for replacing this perfectly fine port with that garbage new one from earlier this year. At least you can mod it to be playable ig. Still, this port still plays absolutely fine and didn't need replacing at all
♥♥♥♥ the rerelease, this is the version you want, then you want to mod it. The 2026 version can suck every ♥♥♥♥.
After leaving this game unfinished for almost 30 years, I finally beat one of the greatest video games ever made. I first played this back in 1998 the year after it came out and didn't get very far because I was renting the console and game so I had no memory card to save it on. So in the early 2000's I played it again, that time I was able to afford the game and a PS2 (still the best game console ever made) and got close to the end back then and lost against Safer Sephiroth. So this final time with the PC version being restored in 2013 I gave it more than just a college try, I gave this game literally my all to get to the end. After beating not just the final boss but the super bosses Ruby and Emerald weapons, I can safely say this game is still undefeated as not only one of the greatest video games but also one of the greatest JRPGs. I'm surprised they made it possible for my controller to work as well (though the buttons are moved around a little). The sad part is that this version was discontinued because apparently Square Enix didn't like the mods that fans made, that's kind of stupid. Either way the newer version is apparently the one that has all the new console features added when it was ported to Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and PS4. I'd have to play that for a little longer to see what I think of the improvements. Either way, I love it and it has withstood the test of time like so many other pieces of media I'm noticing this year.

Kısaca bahsedecek olsam; Peak story, peak karakterler, peak pacing, peak twist, peak summon ve büyü animasyon, güzel açık dünya, güzel müzikler, berbat combat. Böyle olurdu. Oyunun hikayesi fazlasıyla iyi tek sorunu var bu ise dönemin şartlaarı mı diyelim artıkk ne diyorsanız siz, duyguları iyi yansıtmaması ve vermemesi, karakterlerin gerçekten orda hissettirmemesi gibi durumlar. Garip olaylar silsilesi ile başlayıp devam ediyor hikaye ama anlatmayacagım çünkü bence cogu kisi FF7 Remake oynayıp buraya geliyordur. Önemli olan Eski versiyon oynanmaya değer mi? Hem evet hem hayır. Hikayeyi çok iyi işliyor, gereksiz uzatmalar yok. FF7 REMAKE ana hikaye rushlarsanız daha çok 30-35 saatte yan görevler vb derken 50 saatte biterken burada o kısım 5 saat. Hikayeyi işleme kısmı daha hızlı yani. Ama duyguları iyi yansıtma olsun, karakterlerin hal harekketi vb. olsun ff7 remake tabii daha iyi amk. Amacınız bu oyunun hikayesini, açık dünyasını, karakterlerini öğrenmek ise ve gameplay ikinci plandaysa sizin için bunu oynayın. Hikaye için değer cidden güzeldi. 10/10 Combat. Combat çok sıkıcı bence. Hiçbir boss fighttan zevk almadım herhangi bir fighttan da zevk almadım 5x hıza alıp full attack, limit, büyü, çağrı hangisine denk gelirsem o an bastım geçtim. Bazı it bosslar çokk vurudugundan heal da atıyoruz mecburen ara sıra. Şahsen ben savaşta beynimi kapattım genel olarak öyle. Bir son savaş güzeldi diyebilirim de amk oyunu 3-4 kere çöktü orda sinirlendim biraz. 3/10 Müzikler güzel açıp dinlemem ama oyun sırasında güzel gidiyor. 8/10 Açık dünya, zamanına göre fazlasıyla iyi, keşif hissi hoş. Sevdim. 8.5/10 Karakterlerin hepsi hoşuma gitti genel olarak. Bir iki yan görevleri de var hoş onlar. Kötü olan burada başlarda ölen bir iki karakter remake de üzmüşken burada öldüklerini farketmedim. Bu da oyunun eskiliğyle alakalı sorun işte. Neyse onun dışında her karakterin kişiliği olsun amacı olsun ayrı ve güzel. Bu karakter de çok yapaymış ya diyeceğiniz biri yoktu. 10/10 Oyunu bu arada 5x hızda oynamayıp random encounterları kapamassanız ve her yan bossu illa kesicem derseniz 50+ saat sürer onu da söyleyeyim aradan. Sephiroth. Bu adamı değerlenndirmek eleştirmek haddime değil o beni eleştirsin. Diğer Villainler tam kötü adam sayılmaz bence amaçları doğrultusunda hareket eden kimselerdi. Bir iki aptal dışında. Onlar da iyiydi. Başından beri dediğim gibi hikaye vb güzel sadece onları ele alsam 95/100 falan derdim herhalde oyuna genel puan olarak ama combat beni çok sıktı bu yüzden 83/100.
There are no words I could say that would be new spin or a fresh idea to describe this game, it came out in 1997 and it's the greatest game ever to bless the video game industry, Final Fantasy 7.

As someone who didn't grow up with old school final fantasy and doesn't particularily care about turn based combat I can definitely say I enjoyed my time with this one. An all time classic that changed the game industry as we know it. Highly recommend!
