Honestly amazing game held back by its age, my pc had a ton of trouble running this game, and i had to use tools like LAA and Process Lasso just to make it playable, anyway great game, I highly recommend using FXAA or SMAA to make the game look better, 10/10 game so much to do even after beating the game, buy this if its on a sale.
This game is Insane!!
I had no issue running it in 4k almost maxed out (100fps average). Story is alright but personally hated the ending. Gameplay is good but often you'll pick up a gun instead of looting a body and it can be a pain in the ass. I think there's too many little treasures to fetch to complete the game to 100% (good chance you'll get bored before that) but the achievements are fairly balanced and reachable (even though some are really annoying to get). With that said, it's an all around good stealth FPS game. Short and sweet, effortless to play, perfect for my old ass.
9/10 I finally got around to playing Far Cry 3… Yeah, in 2026. I know. I’m late. Don’t judge me, alright? 😭 Now I completely understand why so many people still call it one of the best entries in the series. The story hooked me from the very beginning, the missions were fun, and exploring the island never got boring. Every time I thought I was just going to complete one mission, I’d end up clearing an outpost, hunting animals, or getting distracted by something else. The crafting system was… alright. Hunting animals to upgrade your gear and make bigger weapon holsters was a cool idea on paper, but honestly it wasn’t my favorite mechanic. I didn’t hate it, but I wouldn’t say I loved it either. It was more of a “do it because you have to” kind of system. I also loved how much freedom the game gives you when it comes to getting around the island. Driving cars felt surprisingly fun, boats were great for exploring the coastline, swimming through the crystal-clear water never got old, and using the hang glider to soar over the island was easily one of my favorite things to do. Even something as simple as sliding down from the top of a radio tower all the way back down was incredibly satisfying. All of these little traversal mechanics make the island feel alive and make exploration just as enjoyable as the missions themselves. The story, though? Absolutely worth it. And that ending… dude that Citra ♥♥♥♥♥ is craaaaazy And finally… Huge shoutout to Michael Mando for his performance as Vaas. Seriously. One of the greatest performances in gaming history. Every time he was on screen, he completely stole the show. Now for the negatives… Playing Far Cry 3 on modern hardware can be… interesting. I played it on an RTX 5060 Laptop, and I had several random crashes. The most painful one happened when I was literally about to finish the mission where you kill Vaas. The game crashed. Gone. Thirty to forty-five minutes of progress erased. I had to replay the entire mission from the beginning. I almost became the definition of insanity myself. And then there’s Ubisoft Connect… Look, I bought the game on Steam. Why do I need another launcher just to play a game I already own? I installed Ubisoft Connect, linked my account, everything worked… …until years later when i wanted to really play the far cry games i totally forgot my Ubisoft password. Recovering it was somehow harder than defeating Vaas. The CAPTCHA kept failing over and over. I tried on my PC. Didn’t work. I tried on my iPhone. Still didn’t work. In the end, I had to borrow my brother phone just to finally reset my password and log into Ubisoft Connect so I could play a game… that I bought on Steam. Please. If I buy a game on Steam… Let me launch it from Steam. Overall: Fantastic story. Memorable missions. An unforgettable villain. A world that keeps pulling you back. Despite the crashes and launcher headaches, this game absolutely deserves its reputation. It’s one of those games that makes you understand why people still talk about it more than a decade later.
Don't buy it even in discount the game will crash every time you die making you lose all the progress you had before saving.
