Amazing game!
This game kicks ass. Definitely one of the best modern singleplayer shooters out there. I played at 20% faster gameplay speed though, so that makes the gameplay way more fast-paced. For people who find the gameplay a bit slow, I highly suggest turning up the gameplay speed. In terms of visuals, this is by far the best DOOM has ever looked. Of course, that is to be expected, considering it's the newest one, but it still deserves praise. What the developers at id Software did with this world is incredible. Everything is designed so well, the scale is amazing and, architecturally, it looks incredible. Bravo! When it comes to sound design, it's also great. Every attack, move and weapon sound heavy with plenty of punch and power. It's so crunchy and you feel like a god when you're in a good flow, like the Doomslayer could go through anything. The game also has some cool levels where you control a huge mech suit, and some levels where you fly on a dragon. Some people don't like these levels, but I love them as breaks between the usual gameplay. Plus the sense of scale and power you get in these levels is so much fun. This game also has one of my favourite boss battle moments ever. Not in the sense that it's amazingly designed, but the sense of power you feel. I'm not talking about the fight against Enhanced Ahzrak, I'm talking about the fight against Ahzrak and the Witch. The Enhanced Ahzrak fight is definitely the hardest in the game, but the way you feel when you come in at the end and steamroll Ahzrak and the Witch, it feels so good. It's like the Slayer had enough, so you just absolutely destroy them. I feel like that's the intention, at least, as it's a much easier fight than Enhanced Ahzrak. It's like the developers made it that way so that you could feel the power of the Slayer before the end. These guys have been running away for the entire game, and now that they have nowhere left to run, the Slayer just annihilates them. Great stuff honestly. All in all, a super easy recommendation. Heck, there are so many accessibility options that even people who suck at FPS games can easily play this game. A blast from start to finish! I forgot to mention, the music is really good as well! Not as good as Mick Gordon's music on the two other DOOM games, but still very good. Also, I love the use of Lovecraftian elements in later parts of the game. It's so unexpected and cool, and I just love cosmic horror stuff like that. On to Revelations!
战斗 爽!
Fantastic game, better DLC. 100% would recommend to anyone who has played DOOM 2016 at least, if you haven't played that don't play this yet. Wish raytracing wasn't forced but that's like my only real problem.
I love iD Software so much.

Having played through this on Game Pass I've just started again on Steam, and this is still about as good as a shooter can possibly get. It really is the whole package - fantastic visuals, astonishing performance from the best engine tech in the business, deep multi layered gameplay with many mechanics, and very fun and enjoyable gameplay. If this really is id Software's swansong, and given their legendary status as one of the founders of the game industry as we know it, and the originator of the FPS genre, I really hope it isn't. But if the unthinkable happens and we never get another id Software game or id Tech game, then the team can hold their heads up high that they went out on a masterpiece. Thanks for all the demon slaying id, you guys are talented beyond compare. And the new DLC is awesome.
