honestly, not much needs to be said. this is what a good game looks like. Fast gameplay, can play over and over. Truly a goated game to play in a desert full of trash
I am not fond of the medieval kind of aesthetic but it is nice to see the gameplay formula is still fun albeit this time the approach to the Doom dance is slightly different. Not bad though. On that same track the soundtrack is fine, obviously not great like what Mick Gordon did but at least better than the mixing in Eternal, and thankfully still heavy. The story is getting crazier by the minute, still not intrusive to the gameplay but just present enough to give you somewhat of a north after decimating the hordes of hell arena after arena. Visually, ehh it's the same as Eternal but with a hefty fps cost if you max it out with path tracing. This is probably the weakest point of the game as the difference from having path tracing on or off does not justify the gut punch you get when it goes down to the lower 20s. Although on this latest patch and tweaking the DLSS models in the nvidia app has made it stay above 50 in the heavier areas instead of 20. It does come with the frame gen option but if you've tried frame gen below a source of 40fps you know it's garbage. The more you buy the more they save on optimization. That said the dlc is awesome, made me want to give this game another chance and it finally clicked for me.
The combat is really good, I love the mix of melee, shield, and guns. It also has a lot of replayability
Good, me shoot at things
