About
From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an emotionally charged evolution of this genre-defying experience. In bringing this title to PC, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS worked with Nixxes Software to deliver the definitive version of the critically acclaimed console release.
In the expansive open world of DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH, countless areas with vastly different terrains and environments are seamlessly connected, and the changing time, weather and nature itself provide a variety of landscapes and challenges.
There are various obstacles that will prevent Sam from completing his mission. Face them head-on, sneak around, or completely avoid dangerous areas. Choose your approach to any situation.
Eleven months after the events of the original DEATH STRANDING, rejoin Sam and his companions on a new journey to save humanity from extinction and discover the answer to this haunting question: Should we have connected?
Join Sam for the next chapter of his journey as he attempts to connect Australia to the Chiral Network. Navigate a living environment through day and night cycles, natural disasters – including earthquakes, sandstorms and forest fires – and Timefall, a rain that instantly ages everything it touches.
To traverse this dangerous landscape, you’ll need to build new types of infrastructure, master specialized equipment and confront (or evade) the otherworldly creatures that roam the fractured world.
Face enigmatic Mech soldiers, as-yet unseen BTs and new boss types that will push Sam to his limits. As you prepare for each journey, you’ll be able to fabricate weapons like machine guns, shotguns and grenade launchers to deal with threats. Or, choose to avoid confrontation altogether with stealth – using decoy holograms, silent takedowns and long-ranged gear.
Through APAS enhancements, Sam can learn new skills that will improve his odds of survival, like enhanced weapon fire-rates or reduced movement noise to help him stay hidden.
The iconic Social Strand System of DEATH STRANDING returns to encourage asynchronous connection across the globe. Your in-game actions affect how other players interact with the world and vice-versa – so connect, collaborate and help your fellow Porters on their journeys.
Leave a “Like” on a useful bridge, donate resources to community projects, store field ware in shared lockers and finish incomplete deliveries as you stumble upon dropped cargo from other Porters. As you support other players on their journeys, your own reputation will grow, giving you access to valuable resources and new gear.
Full integration with NVIDIA’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS and upscaling and frame generation technologies, allowing you to reach higher output resolutions; enjoy crisp, high-fidelity visuals as you navigate and explore an expansive and unpredictable open world.¹
Benefit from the option of higher framerates as well as tailored graphic settings, for a wide range of hardware – supporting every delivery with solid performance.¹
Witness even more of this incredible world with panoramic, super-ultrawide (32:9) support for gameplay, with standard ultrawide (21:9) support for in-game cut scenes.²
Take control with full mouse and keyboard support to suit your play style. Personalize your gameplay further by mapping custom keybinds.

Reviews
Death stranding 2 was a wonderful continuation of an already great game, and it did everything from the 1st game but better. Gameplay-wise, the games are very similar, you deliver items from location to location navigating all sorts of terrain and obstacles with every tool that you can muster. From ladders and pistols to surfboarding on a coffin and a multi-firing rocket launcher, there's a lot of variety. I found the game play to be a bit easier, but I can't fault the game for that as I never raised the difficulty off normal. I just wanted to enjoy the ride. And what a ride it was. My favorite addition to this game is the DHV Magellan, which is a floating ship that follows Sam around. After some story missions, Sam gets back on the ship to his own private room. It allows Sam to physically talk to and interact with an actual crew, rather then the endless messages the 1st game did. That small change (or maybe big), but it makes it feel like an actual connection with his teammates. Sam isn't alone, and each supporting member has their unique story and development which just adds to the story in general. The Magellan also has some uses too, helping with the bigger map that is Australia. Great game, highly recommended.

First of all, play the 1st game! It has amazing worldbuilding that you're missing out on if you don't check it out first. This game does everything right - so many improvements, additions, and of course, a wonderful story. I particularly loved the step up with the combat and boss fights that make this game special, and the artistic atmosphere is even better in this game.

I've just finished the main story of Death Stranding 2, and I've also completed the first game. Here are my personal thoughts (might be a bit rambly).

I first saw the trailer for the original Death Stranding back in elementary school. The sci‑fi UI, the skills, the breathtaking landscapes, and those mind‑blowing CG cutscenes left a huge impression on me—at a time when I was only playing browser shooters. I desperately wanted to play it, but I didn't have the hardware, so I had to wait until after my college entrance exams to finally get my hands on it. In the meantime, I listened to the game's soundtrack on repeat hundreds of times. Then, while I was waiting, they announced Death Stranding 2—perfect timing, because I had plenty of free time in my freshman year, so I played both back‑to‑back. 😄 This game truly is the one that shines like a first love in my gaming life. Even though both entries have their flaws, for me they are more than the sum of their parts—they are my absolute favorite games.
Rating: DS1 > DS2 (slightly)
Story‑wise, I'm very satisfied with the first game. The presentation and the music create an outstanding atmosphere—early on, it captures the oppressive dread of death and the fear of the unknown brilliantly. Then it expands, showing humanity growing stronger and eventually saving America, while revealing many hidden secrets. Fantastic. As for gameplay, many people say the early game is just endless walking and boring, but I'm a scenery lover—I kept stopping to take photos and plan my routes, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. The biggest flaw in the first game, in my opinion, is the terrible vehicle handling. But ironically, that was a blessing in disguise for me—because the vehicles were so clunky, I ended up building lots of fun infrastructure with the construction tool, like ziplines and rain shelters, and I paved many highways, which gave me a huge sense of achievement. In the second game, vehicles with anti‑slip tires are absolute beasts—they work on any terrain. From the moment I got the big truck in DS2, I barely got out of it 😂 It's so damn useful that I only dabbled with ziplines and railways before giving up—why bother when the truck is this good? Of course, fixing the vehicle handling is beneficial for everyone, giving players more options for endgame creativity.
Story complaints about DS2 (minor spoilers)

For DS2's story, I have a lot more complaints. I won't dwell on Lucy's baffling affair—why did the Motherhood community have to be so awkward? Die‑Hardman's baffling dance on the beach was cringe, and Fragile's pushy proposal and actions when Sam was depressed after BB's death—she does get some redemption later, but they could have polished it so much better instead of force‑feeding us a couple of bitter pills. I don't get that. Oh, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Higgs—I never understood what he was even doing. Every time he appeared, I felt utterly baffled and at a loss for words. His only goal was revenge, and his storyline felt way too thin.
Gameplay‑wise, though, this sequel is awesome—combat feels great. Unlike the first game where I had to tiptoe around BTs early on, here I go straight at them—if I don't like you, I'll blast you. Later, I drive my truck loaded with chiral cannons and just wreck everything 😎 Pure combat fun. The menu wheel is also super useful—lots of functions at a flick, very practical. Gameplay has definitely taken a big step up.
Music
Now about the music—I have to say it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible! The soundtrack of Death Stranding is exceptional. I thought after Low Roar's lead singer passed away, the sequel wouldn't have songs that amazed me as much, but Woodkid is a genius! The first trailer with "To the Wilder" completely blew me away—the sweeping strings and the dual‑tone vocals had me convinced that the sequel's music would be top‑tier. And "Minus Sixty One" is just brilliantly written and performed! Plus, Daichi Miura's "Polytope"—wow, I was left speechless in awe. The old joke of "buying a OST and getting a free game" still holds true here (doge). They also kept some Low Roar tracks, and you can even use the music player while delivering—absolutely perfect, 10/10.
One more nitpick about DS2's side characters
Although the side characters in the first game didn't get huge backstories either, their overall connection and integration with the plot felt much smoother than in DS2. Characters like Rainy, Tomorrow, Tar Man, and Dollman in the second game play important roles on the surface, but their integration feels off—that's probably why the story felt a bit strange to me. In the first game, the characters were tightly linked, and the transitions and connections were much better, with a clear cause‑and‑effect flow. The second game gave me a slight sense of disjointedness... I'm not sure how to describe it.

But overall, DEATH STRANDING absolutely deserves my positive recommendation. It's the game that moved me the most, that I was most immersed in, and that made my heart race. I just love this kind of experience (and I'm not even a Kojima fanboy—I'm just a pure game enthusiast). Love you, Death Stranding.
