PRAISE THE SUN \[T]/
I'm sorry, like, it's not a bad game, but it's just not fun in today's world. You are better off playing any other souls like, like, litterally. The game is just so clunky and hard in the wrong way. The difficulty is not balanced around the enemies and around their patterns and all, it's just... kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And the level desgin is great, like really, but at a certain point, everything is bland and uninteresting, combat feel very repetitive. Idk, I don't feel the game, maybe when I'll have DS3 and maybe 2 finished I'll retry it

Dank Souls TM Very good game.
praise the sun
Dark Souls did two things notably better than its predecessor and successor: level design and world building. First, the levels are closer to Metroidvania/Hollow Knight style where areas are connected via shortcuts which open as you progress. Unlike Demon Souls and Dark Souls 2 , the areas are not just straight branches from a hub. Second, the world building is better than the other games mostly because of memorable characters and lore (at least by Fromsoft standards). Combat is chunky and slow compared to the sequels and Elden Ring, even Demon Souls felt a tad bit faster. If you want to master parrying, the first Dark Souls is the easiest game to learn the skill from. Armor is actually important unlike other entries in the series. The worst part of Dark Souls is the environmental traps and one frustrating boss fight. If you beat any other Soulslike game, you will probably die more to falling off a narrow beam while under enemy fire rather than dying in face-to-face combat. The frustrating boss fight has more to do with the boss arena and the long runback rather than the boss itself. Overall, the game holds up well enough to be worth a playthrough.
