I have absolutely no issues with the gameplay, character/monster design, combat or anything like that. Monster Hunter games in my eyes are meant to be played together with friends and I doubt that this would be an unpopular opinion. The developers decided to make the main story missions of this game a terrible multiplayer experience. All players must individually seek out the monster, watch a cutscene, quit the mission and only then can you invite your friends into the lobby, making you run to the monster all over again. This is so absurd it sounds like a joke, how can this be real, how can these devs be so incompetent? Even after thousands upon thousands of complaints from players and years passing Capcom just decides to plug their ears and not listen. Ridiculous.
Honestly, I don't get what the fuzz is all about... you get to hunt monsters, that's it? Fine, I'll whack some of the ugly bastards, it can't be that much fun—
Oh, ♥♥♥♥ the hell, yes...
It feels like I started playing yesterday, can't believe 1000 hours can fly by like that. It's honestly so much fun, addictive and varied. The gameplay mechanics are so... so... ugh~!
10/10
Monster Hunter World is an unapologetic grindfest that will absolutely eat your life, your sleep schedule, and possibly your relationship if you're not careful. The entire loop is basically: hunt a massive, screaming death lizard for 20 minutes, kill it, immediately start carving its corpse like it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christmas, then go do it again tomorrow because you didn't get the one (1) part you actually needed. That's it. That's the whole game. Some of the mechanics are just... fine, honestly, and the repetition can get straight up brutal. But none of that matters. Not even a little. Because the second you finally equip that weapon you've been farming for four days, the one literally carved from the bones of the thing that's been humiliating you in the arena, your brain just goes off like a slot machine. It's not even rational at that point, it's pure lizard-brain dopamine. The grind is genuinely insane, but the payoff hits so hard that you forget you were ever mad about it. You just stare at your new weapon for a solid minute like a proud parent. 10/10, would lose another 50 hours to this, no regrets, send help.
I've been playing Monster Hunter: World/Iceborne for quite a while now (it's my first Monster Hunter game, too), and it has become one of my favorite titles of all time. I enjoy many single-player experiences, but this game truly shines when played with friends. I've completed it more than once with people I know, and I can confidently say it's worth it. That said, if you're more of a solo player, you'll still find plenty to enjoy in Monster Hunter, it works just as well on your own. The game features a wide variety of awesome monsters. If you own Iceborne, some more of the classics are introduced as well, which is very cool! The designs are stunning, and the level of detail is incredibly well crafted. You can really see the effort that went into making this one of the best hunting experiences out there. On gameplay aspects, MHW runs smoothly. I haven’t come across any bugs or inconveniences during my playthroughs, so if you were worried about that, don’t be. Just make sure your hardware meets the necessary requirements so everything runs fluently. Important: Monster Hunter is about patience. The first few missions and some others can be somewhat tedious, but trust me, it gets better. If you're up for a challenge and enjoy farming monsters to craft massive weapons and strange yet cool-looking armor sets, while also having adorable animal companions by your side, give it a try! I do suggest getting Iceborne, since it adds a lot of incredibly good content to the base game. Monster Hunter: World without Iceborne can feel short and a little unfulfilling if you're looking for more. So, don’t miss out on the ultimate hunting experience!
One of the best Monster Hunter series. Highly recommended, you won't get bored because there's so much to do, whether you're playing solo or multiplayer. Of course multiplayer is better
I bought this game at launch for my PS4, I put over 300 hours and once I bought a PS5 I never played it again. Just recently I got my hands on a steam deck and decided to download Monster Hunter World on it and give it a whirl. The game is just as beautiful as I remember it. I LOVE how smooth it plays on handheld and also on PC. This game definitely competes with games coming out this year, it has not lost its charm. I think if you e never played a monster hunter game, World is definitely a great start. My start was Freedom Unite on the PSP, but this one is just as fun to play with friends. I definitely recommend this game.
Bought the game with DLC package, played for 60+ hours with and without friends. Enjoyed my time. Friends keep telling me they can't wait for me to get IceBorne area. Been grinding and doing everything optional in base game. Yet to get DLC starting mission... Got confused. Checked DLCs. Bought everything cosmetic related to DLC But not the DLC itself... In the end, everyone laughed, including me :P
All these years later and still such a good game. Highly recommend, especially for the price, even if you're a solo player, but especially if you've got friends. There's a reason so many people own this game.
五天玩了50个小时,下午2点开玩下线的时候已经第二天2点了
