Brilliant game, terrible management. Subscription for DLC is scam, you can acquire all of them via mods (including the deleted weapons you can no longer obtain) for FREE.

I will finally get to play this game after the engine upgrade comes out to reduce the game size.

Looking at Payday 2 at its face as it exists right now, it's a pretty fun, if sometimes tedious, co-op heist shooter. It's real draw, though, is its extensive customization of weapons and skills. It might not be the most balanced--this game is a victim of some severe power creep--but that doesn't detract too much from the fun. Combine that with a good sense of humor, appreciation for its community, and shockingly polished presentation, and this game is very much something special. Beyond that, though, this game has had a long, bumpy history thanks to Starbreeze. PD2's absurd amount of content DLC (some of which was even delisted due to licensing) needs no elaboration, and the release of the subscription, though far from a bad value, was a questionable optics move. However, development being handed over to Sidetrack was almost a renaissance for this game. They've fixed many technical issues and made some very unique additions in the Espionage pack, and the recent announcement of an update to 64-bit and DX11 is extremely promising. Now might just be the best time to hop on this game in years.

It is definitely one of the five games with the best player communities. I had unknowingly started a really difficult mission while playing online. Just as I was about to give up in failure, someone joined me and took out the enemies as if flying through the air. LOL He saved me, and then a few more players joined; suddenly, the level—which had seemed like hell—became easy and fun. I don't remember having this much fun in a long time. Even in 2026, there are still over 40,000 players. You should definitely get this game. So much things connected to DLC's but you can purchase monthly subscription. Its way cheaper than have it. I'm gonna play one more mission see y'all

It's a fun game, but. However, their DLC scheme and price fixing is the perfect example of everything what is wrong with gaming today.

Payday 2 definitely has its downfalls. It may be a bit wonky at time, but man is it fun! There is something about having mindlessly shoot outs with hordes of police. You will rob anything and everything in this game. It is definitely worth every penny. If going loud isn't what you like, you can also do stealth. The heists are very well put together and there is even a super easter egg that is difficult and takes a long time to do. I HIGHLY recommend playing this game. It is fun solo or just queuing up with randoms and even friends. Amazing game!!!!
