absolute masterpiece of a game
The game that started it all. You can definitely see the age, many of the bosses are slow and not very complex, but it makes up for it in the amazing environmental storytelling and just map in general. RIP to Izalith though, it could have been so much cooler.

it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dark souls
Great game. Challenging difficulty, but overall a great game. Seriously though, its Very hard. one of those games where you hate it and love it both at once.
perfect
Took some adjustment and several months of giving up early on to play other games, but then I waded and finished the game. It took time to get use to the controls which are a tad... less than ideal compared to other games as every move is just a little off timing wise even when everthing is best possible stats. So after getting use to the timing for moves in this game I was messed up for other games until I readjusted to quicker response times. lol But I beat the game and said "Well on to the next..." as I generally don't replay games. There are a few exceptions, Original Far Cry, BioShock, Metro Games, Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, but overall I finish a game and I am done. On to the next one! Almost a year after I beat the game I started watching other people's first time playing on youtube and learned I missed a ton. lol This is easy to do as really no quest log or direction in this game. You just explore and learn as you go. As such people have beaten this game numerous times and still find things they missed. I miss a lot... The entire DLC I never even found... My Sun Bro apparently had a questline we never finished so he got bad ending. One character had a daughter who I never even met but apparently was a thiing. I missed a ton of hidden stuff which I know now exists but don't know where exactly. Plus I could never get magic to work and now I know how to make it work and it looks super fun! So... guess I will have to play again sometime... if nothing else than to save my Sun bro!! Not sure if I will play it on here with a ton of mods offline to make it even fancier looking or on Xbox as have a copy there and generally never play Xbox, but this could be cool in 4K HDR on the big screen. There is so much to this game that is not explained so players have to do a ton of research. Watching people play it online has been my research as I make littel notes of techniques, skills, lore, quests I never found, storyline arcs I never even saw, and so much more. So I guess this game will be added at some point to the very short list of games I have replayed as I will play again and save my Sun Bro!!! lol
fun... but very challenging
Greatest atmosphere in all of gaming history no one will make a more atmospheric game then this ever.
