I absolutely love this game. Before playing it, I honestly thought I was going to hate it too because of all the hate it gets, and I went in with really low expectations. But I was so wrong. The game completely changed my expectations, and I’m genuinely glad I gave it a chance. Dark souls 2 has such a unique atmosphere and world building. Some areas can get pretty overwhelming with how many enemies there are, and yeah, there were definitely moments where I got frustrated. But I think that’s also something I ended up appreciating about the game. It taught me to be more okay with frustration and just keep going instead of giving up when things get difficult. I would say that dark souls 2 is a masterpiece in it's own way and it has a feeling to it that no other dark souls game had. The whole Dark Souls trilogy is amazing and something I’ll never forget. It’s genuinely one of my favorite game series ever. I’m also really glad FromSoftware pushed through the troubled development instead of giving up on Peak Souls 2. I still think Dark Souls 3 is better, but this is a very close second. 🤔

Great game, fun connected world, never could understand why people were so down on this entry into the series.
Peak souls II
sin duda el mejor souls
Fat
There are so, so many fundamental design issues with this game. From the bafflingly horrible stat that is ADP, to the health-loss on death mechanic, to the instant jabs that basic enemies throw, to the poorly designed map and world, to the gankfest encounter design, to the awful runbacks, to the janky, 8-directional lock-on movement, to the middling lore, to the circlejerk community, this game is a representation of the worst aspects of FromSoft games with none of the redeeming qualities. It's hardly even a difficulty issue; the game is actually too easy due to the inclusion of endlessly-replenishing lifegems, which are a somewhat self-aware way of the game telling you "yeah we know the Estus won't be enough so stock up". It's just not a fun experience to take endless chip damage from environments that are not meant to test your skill but to test your knowledge of the area and how to engage the encounter. Not to mention the bosses, on average, are horrible! The environments aren't fun to explore, the enemies aren't fun to engage, the bosses aren't fun to learn, and you overall get the feeling that it's a knockoff Dark Souls game riding on the coattails of the first one. Ultimately, this game is incredibly interested in punishing you for playing Dark Souls like Dark Souls, and for that reason, I cannot recommend it.
For me the least amount of gimmick bosses = better, so best Dark Souls ever.

The variety in builds and armor is the best in this game. You *can* just use rapiers and leo ring, but the game has much more to offer. Power stancing and true dual wielding, all magic schools are valid. Infusion + Buffs seperatly. The armor in this game is also a perfect mix of DS1 & DS3. Its less useful than DS1 (where it was busted) but more useful than DS3 (where it serves no purpose). I don't love the speed and lack of variety however. Getting all the achievements really points out that almost all of the enemies and bosses are just guys in armor. With that said, some of the best fights in the game are just guy in amor (Fume Knight, Sir Alonne, Old Ivory King). I give this game 8/10. Soul Memory is dumb and a lot of fights is you standing and waiting for your stamina to recover
