Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 8.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Cultist Simulator is a game of apocalypse and yearning from Alexis Kennedy, creator of Fallen London and Sunless Sea. Play as a seeker after unholy mysteries, in a 1920s-themed setting of hidden gods and secret histories. Perhaps you're looking for knowledge, or power, or beauty, or revenge. Perhaps you just want the colours beneath the skin of the world.
In this roguelike narrative card game, what you find may transform you forever. Every choice you make, from moment to moment, doesn't just advance the narrative - it also shapes it.
Become a scholar of the unseen arts. Search your dreams for sanity-twisting rituals. Craft tools and summon spirits. Indoctrinate innocents. Seize your place as the herald of a new age.

In this 20-40 hour game, you'll:
Combine cards to tell your own story in a rich, Lovecraftian world of ambition, appetite and abomination. Corrupt your friends. Consume your enemies. There is never only one history.
Found a cult, dedicated to the Red Grail, or the Witch-and-Sister, or the Forge of Days. Recruit Believers and promote them to Disciples to serve as burglars, researchers, cat's-paws. Use your disciples to keep you fed - or feed on your disciples.
Unravel arcane, unacknowledged mysteries. Translate grimoires and glean their lore. Locate and pillage the Star Shattered Fane. Penetrate the realm of the Hours, and win a place in their service. Perhaps - if you are very cunning - you may even glimpse the Mansus.
Outwit rivals, investigators and the increasingly suspicious Authorities. Your own altered Appetites may force you to act abominably, but your Cause must not be stopped.
Transcend death with a story-driven legacy system. Perhaps your inheritors will complete the Rite of the Crucible Soul. Perhaps they'll find peace in a pleasing career. Perhaps they'll bring the Dawn.

I really wanted to love this game and a part of me still finds aspects of it addicting with the whole card system and gradually working your way up. But it is so unbelivably frustrating to even get into the cult aspect and grinding does absolutely nothing because before you know it, you have three despair cards and have a breakdown. I digress. I have played at least four runs and even by the time I spent is a long time. It is a very time consuming game that is very punishing for seemingly no reason and bad luck can end a run you have been working on (and remember one run in this game can last for "hours" no exaggeration) . The game wants you dead which is fair but it doesn't make it any fun and like another person said it is like whack a mole to manage all your stats and you can still be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over due to bad lack and it just frustrating to try and battle against that. And I still barely know how interact properly with people even around seven hours in. So yeah unless you are willing to invest a lot of time in this game, figuring out the mechanics and grinding in order to get enough resources to get what you want and you still might be boned due to Dread which is more frequent as time goes on in the game and you haven't establish your cult properly (which you barely know how to do). You might like it but if aren't willing. Yeah..Don't. Edit.....Yeah I played another 61 hours of this and I swear 30 hours were dedicated to one run as the Bright Young Thing and honestly having an extra bit of income was a gamechanger in the early game and in helping get the grind. I will stay say the grind to get through the early game is a nightmare, let alone the late game when you have your people ready but you are missing that one crucial artifiact. I finally won a standard grail victory. I have to admit getting a major victory feels so excilerating and even more so on one's birthday but I digress. I think my earlier review still stands. This is still a niche game that only the insane (and I realised that unfortunatly included myself) can enjoy. It is a game you need to keep an eye on things or else you might get caught out by bad luck or timing. You dont know when the hunter is going to come back so you could have something in the work tab and panic because you don't have time to get rid of the notority. Or you have an ailment but you also have about three despair cards and you can't get it down in time. But when you get through it I have to admit there is no better feeling than having conquering it. I have such complicated feelings towards this game, I have a love hate relationship with it. It drives me insane and I can't stop thinking about it. It's powerful stuff with the implications, the lore but it also reminds me of Hbomberguy review of "Pathologic" and how hard that game is but the story is so investing and how it's great but you should never play it. Cultist Simulator is a little bit like that. Seriously this is not a game for anyone who is impatient, easily frustrated or not willing to put hours in one run that might nearly always guarantee in failure some form or another. Because that will happen. to those willing to give a try, good luck, keeping trying and maybe on day you will succed. To anyone who might still be interested but scared of the brutal nature of this game but still wants to be aquainted with the lore I reccomend you start with Book of Hours first. That game is far more forgiving and let's you have time to experiement and advance while also meeting familar faces and books as it is also set in the same universe. I because I played Book of Hours which might have also drew me back in and gave me a new appreciation of the world and its lore. Honestly if you want a better intro to the world check Book of Hours and then come here when you want the challenge and to be something more. This is not a game for everyone but for the few that it is, you will go on a journey of setbacks, delays and ascension. But then again that's the point I suppose.
This is a game that I personally quite enjoy, but struggle to recommend to others. It took me 24 hours of gameplay and 3 runs total to beat it blind, and once I beat it I honestly felt a little disappointed because I realized that I had the materials to beat it ~6 hours prior. It probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if there were less grind, but the game has SO much to grind that you think will be necessary at some point but is never actually pertinent. I kept expecting something more from the game that never really came, but this probably boils down to the fact that it, at a fundamental level, is making a decision then waiting for 60 seconds to play the game again. The game advertises itself with its lack of tutorial and as a 'choices-matter' game. Take this line from the description: "Every choice you make, from moment to moment, doesn't just advance the narrative - it also shapes it." This is kind of true, but there are far fewer important choices than you would hope for, and I found that it's easy to make choices on a whim that might seem cool thematically but make the game even more grindy than it already is. The flavor, artwork, and music are so phenomenal and do an incredible job of immersing you in this peculiar world that it distracts you from this grind, but it is imperative that you, as a prospective buyer, understand that you will be grinding in this game. Perhaps there is a defect in the way that I play games, but I found that the high cost of failure and potential to die were less of an interesting and bold design decision to keep me engaged and more of an annoyance that actively impeded my having fun since the second that something negative happened I had to jettison most of my momentum to halt a potential death spiral. Ultimately, I felt that the game felt a bit underwhelming. Perhaps I'm being unfair to the developers in expecting more. After all, I spent 24 hours of my life staring at a fictitious table putting nouns in verbs and reading what they had to say, and that is no small feat. But there is so much implied depth and intrigue that is simply not present. I can't help but feel that the developers created an incredible (and I do not say this lightly) universe with immense potential but slapped it on a somewhat barebones chassis that tells you stories of alien gods and eldritch creatures but fails to fully realize it. The worst part about this is that I cannot tell you what specific parts with which I take issue because learning ANYTHING about the game is a spoiler! The gameplay loop is figuring out what elements interact with each other and using them to set up an engine, and even telling you that, say, a metaphorical crankshaft exists will seriously detract from your experience. That being said, this incredibly pessimistic review is still a recommendation, and despite all that I've said prior, I would still give this game an 7 or higher based on atmosphere alone. If you made it through this review and are not dissuaded, then this game is probably for you. Cultist Simulator is a game that I will absolutely not recommend to my IRL friends (and especially not for 20 bucks. You have to do way too much labor on behalf of the devs to spend 20 USD on it). They would probably stab me. But if you can get this game on sale, you for sure should. Cultist Simulator is a 10/10 experience on a 4/10 body, and if you are willing to treat it as an experience instead of a game then you will enjoy it.
不看攻略直接上手试错成本巨大,看了攻略又容易对游戏失去兴趣,一边搬砖一边费尽心思砍莫名其妙对你画作发情的警探,你能玩的下去你是这个,强大
I want to like it, but the RNG absurdly weighted against you. It takes an hour+ to get through the starting loop (grinding for money is insufferable) and then as soon as you start doing well it will hit you with a forced fail mechanic. And after a couple of times you cave in and look online for why it keeps happening. And the answer is "You cant play this game without spoilers," and also "Yeah, it just does that to you"
I wish that this was just a book instead. Like... I enjoyed it, but this feels like it's actually less interesting and enjoyable than it would have been to just read all of the flavor text on all of the cards in sequence.
I almost like this game. It's addictive in a way that I want to beat it so I can stop playing, but the rules are so frustrating to understand that I don't think I'll ever finish it. I hate it more than I like it.
It hurts me to make this a negative review, but despite playing for 60 hours already... I've still got no idea what's going on. Simply fumbling around mainly leads to failure which can result in hours of work to get back to roughly where you were before, assuming things play out similarly. But chances are, you have no idea why certain things happened, or why they didn't happen again when you tried to recreate it. This game has SO much style and some deep Lovecraftian lore (which I am always a sucker for), but I just can't get into this game. The one ending I managed to achieve was due to constantly looking things up online, which I feel defeats the whole purpose of "discovery". Not to mention that many things are very repetitive. Maybe there were other ways to do what I wanted, but I wouldn't know because there's SO much of this game I don't understand. I know there's a good game in here with lots of passion put into it, but I also know it isn't for me.
