Crown Gambit

The art style alone would make me want to play this game till the end. Thankfully the game doesn't rely on that alone - the gameplay is a lot of fun and the story is super interesting

Взял игру по рекомендациям Steam, ничего особо от нее не ожидая, а она взяла и вошла в топ моих 10 любимейших игр из всех :D Теперь везде и ВСЕМ ее рекомендую, потому что эта игра уникальна. Это шедевр для тех, кто любит решения с последствиями, вариативность событий и концовок, а так же вайб МРАЧНОГО средневекового фантастического мира. Всю игру ты прилагаешь все усилия, чтобы посадить на трон кого-то достойного, но под конец остаешься с ощущением, что может и стоило позволить этому королевству уйти под воду :D P.S. отдельное спасибо разработчикам за Ролло, он мой любимчик из тройки. Теперь сижу в ожидании новой игры!

Это хорошая игра, но не без недостатков. + Из плюсов красотища, стиль, дизайн врагов, внятный сюжет, решения. - Главный минус - у меня закончилась прогрессия уже в первой трети игры и дальше я просто повторял свою схему сражения одинаково раз за разом и это было очень долго и не интересно. А сражений было еще огромное количество после этого, к концу уже откровенно надоели эти одинаковые боёвки. Прокачка не особо вариативная, ты так или иначе вкачиваешь почти всё и некоторые варианты очевидно хорошие для билда, а всё остальное очевидно плохое.

Writing this a few months after my first playthrough I loved all the characters in this game and am super excited to go through a second playthrough once I've chipped away at my backlog more

This game is absolutely incredible. First of all, the art direction is EXCEPTIONAL, the art style of the illustrations, character sprites, UI, truly a feast for the eyes. The characters are very well written, the dialogues are fun and are able to move something inside of me in the saddest moments. The dynamics between the protagonists is also very enjoyable!! I love all three of them and I hope nothing bad happpens to them!!! The choices you make matter more than you'd think, both during the dialogues and during battles- at least as far as I've gotten into the game. It's super interesting that instead of having one protagonist where you make choices with, you need to be careful who you let speak and what the character will say, as you'll have more dialogue choices for one character sometimes. Lots of replay value, a nice bonus. I love card and strategic games, so with that genre it's an easy yes for me. But it's amazing how in 6 hours into the game it still has some new mechanics and features to show you. The card game is rich and the different builds you can do for the characters is varied enough to always have a big sinergy in every turn. Big YES!! Please support this game and dev team! Little extra but they are developing another game with cool knights, "Sovereign Tower", please check that one out as well, very cool. edit: I've seen reviews about bugs and crashes, I've been playing a lot and experienced zero of both

It is an interesting situation for me, I can tell that the art, music and general presentation are great, but I don't like them that much. The gameplay seems to have a depth that I haven't had the need to touch at normal difficulty, I unlock new cards but I haven't touched my deck in a while. There are some good ideas, like having the option of trying to avoid random encounters (not actually random, but I hope you understand what I mean), and some sinergy between the party members or the cards from the same fighter. There is even more variety thanks to relics, though I haven't had the need to try them, so I haven't beyond the fist one, to see how it worked. There is this system that you can lose your cool but do more damage, there is a penalty for doing that if you reach a certain limit, but again, I haven't had the need to use it. There are too many characters, as many as you could expect in a multi volume fantasy saga, but you barely interact with most. Some are really interesting, and they are cleary distinct, with defined personalities. But the gameplay and the chatting don't mingle well, you have a few options in the dialogue, but it is not clear where one or the other could lead you. There is an effort in making the lore available to the player, you can check who every character is and you have hyperlinks whenever someone's name appears, but if you let the game for a few days, it may be hard to remember who was the kings' brother, son, bastard, lover, etc. There are some interesting ideas here too, you can chat with characters along the path and some are simple conversations that add to the lore, the social life in the city or the way life goes on for different people. I don't know, it is as if this game could have been a great and interesting visual novel and ended up being a not deep enough story mingled with an unnecessarily deep card game. Still, too many good things in it to not recommend it.
