About
Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death.
The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.

Reviews
Fantastic game for anyone who loves Resident Evil. The resources you get, aswell as the inventory system is not as forgiving though, which makes for a more brutal and tight survival horror experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. Unlike in Resident Evil however, the enemies here are not complete bullet sponges. Anyways, I was actually gonna attempt to write a decent looking review but I got bored I guess. End of review. Strong 7,5 or 8/10.
First things first: Cronos is Dead Space. The combat's slower and the ammo's more scarce, but the mechanics are nearly identical (you even have that heavy stomp & hop between aerial platforms) and they share an atmosphere and a few similar plot points. However, that doesn't matter because Cronos is a fantastic game. Playing this back-to-back with Resident Evil Requiem, I can confidently say this is the better survival horror experience. Each corner is filled with dread as you nervously eye the meager handful of bullets you have to take down an inevitable barrage of vicious foes ahead. The gameplay loop is top-notch, rewarding exploration, and features some really decisive resource management. I never felt the game drag or felt unmotivated to push forward. Always holding your interest, Cronos is a challenging game that will require you remember enemy attacks, plan ammo dispersal and learn from your mistakes. Bloober is an interesting little developer that is slowly moving away from being a mid-tier studio making unpolished C+ games, to being a real contender in the video game space. In the past, I've been highly critical of their output and found games like The Medium & Blair Witch to be interesting but fundamentally flawed products. They seemed to have gained a fair bit of favor for their remake of Silent Hill 2, and while their take on the classic wasn't to my liking, I could see how well they had stepped up to challenge. Where Cronos falls short is the story. What begins as an intriguing mystery eventually devolves into a convoluted love story that draws heavily from 12 Monkeys that I couldn't be bothered to care about. However, the world-building and lore was fascinating and you're always itching to discover what is actually happened in the town of New Dawn and who these mysterious "Travelers" are. It's clear Bloober has set up Cronos for a sequel and I would be eager to see where it's headed... as long as they don't go the Dead Space sequels route. Worth the full price, but goes on sale often enough if you're only mildly curious.
Actually a very compelling survival horror with just the right sprinkling of resources that you always feel right on the edge of out of everything, but never cross it. Exploration is fun and rewarding and the combat is weighty and extremely satisfying. The story is also very fascinating, and it's fun to piece together bits of lore and being slammed with unexpected twists. I will still give the game a positive review for the overall experience, but I will say this game has genuinely one of the worst final boss fights of all time. It is extremely frustrating and obnoxious. I won't spoil what it is, but I'll say I chose my ending solely off how pissed I was at the last fight.
Disclaimer: From the time of this review i still havent finished the game, but damn does it check every box for a survival horror ive been craving for! Glen schofield whished he made this game. First off i want to start by saying that this game has everything a survival horror and dead space fan has! It has atmosphere, soundtrack, crazy looking enemy designs, a story that makes you question reality, level designs that put you on the edge of the seat and make you want to explore EVERYTHING!! Moreover, as a big survival horror and dead space fan, i feel like we havent gotten a true sci fi horror game since DS2, Yes we have gotten DS3 (which was ok but not horror) and The Callisto protocol (which was fun but was a bit of a disappointment), and yeah RE games came out but RE games are horror games with a twist of action and conspiracy so they are fun and im a massive fan but they arent like the Sci fi horror games which we NEED more of. The story here is a combination between Dead Space and Control, if you like these type of games then youre in for a treat! Overall i can only say amazing stuff about CTND, the only cons s to this game is that inventory is terrible and its very low making you go back and forth a few times to manage inventory, and that certain cutscenes crash the game so you have to skip them. Other than that, this game is absolutely fantastic! You should buy it!
Absolutely worth it crazy twists and turns and insane lore
Muy buen juego
Deserves WAY more recognition in amongst the survival horror genre. Its atmosphere and survival horror gameplay is VERY solid
Finished my 1st play through and loved it, feels like a great mix of resident evil and silent hill. Story was pretty confusing but it had a good gameplay loop and never really overstayed its welcome. Excited for the DLC.
