pretty fun beat 'em up/pew pew, don't really know what the story is about because I skipped all the cutscenes but the gameplay is great
A 2022 game with all the flaws and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ coding of an early Xbox 360 game. If you had told me this game came out on the 360 in the early days, I would believe you. There are bugs galore, the game looks awful with lots of red and brown and it feels as if every detail was designed to ignore all of the subsequent years in development regarding co-op gaming. At points you'll be forced to stop playing if there's a "minecart section." The game does not save progress for both players, only the host. The different sections where you go from one area to another are long and usually have to be done one at a time, meaning the other player has to sit there twiddling their thumbs. Often the game will kill all audio and the game just crashes for no reason. This is a game you play when you've run out of every good co-op game to play.
Прошли с другом Марюсом! Неплохая игра. Правда очень однообразная, но в ко-оп пойдёт. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3492148630
So, the steam asked me "Will I Recommend this game to other players" HELL YEAH OF COURSE ! Combat of this game is Awesome and all those gadgets and GUNS. My favourite is RIFLE. This game also has lot enemy variety. Then their are bosses, one of the best BOSS Rosters i have seen. The game is pretty much managable but the moment BOSS fights starts. This Game turns into DARK SOULS. Maybe i felt like that because i was playing and Hard difficulty. What i really like about this game how you can each GUN, Gadgets and Powerups to counter Enemy and BOSS attacks. Story is pretty linear and easliy understandable, you learn more about story through clues and BAGS you will find here and there. If there will be WILD WEST 2 in future. I will definatly going to buy it. My Game score: 9/10
This game really needs an update. It’s unplayable right now. The only good thing about it is the gameplay mechanics (the combat), but even there are issues (bullet sponge). Aside from the story premise, the whole game is poorly executed, generic and predictable. AND A TON OF TECHNICAL ISSUES: bugs; glitches; audio problems; lag spikes. I had to quit the game at least 4 times to fix random problems. The developers abandoned the game very quickly, even though it’s pretty fun to kill vampires and monsters. I don’t want to play this game a second time.
The gameplay is pretty boring, you just punch and shoot people. And when you quickdraw, the bullets navigate to the first enemy and not the enemy you are trying to shoot. The graphics are fine but cause framedrops from time to time. The levels are very linear so exploring is almost non-existent and not fun. Story is whatever, but the boring gameplay made it feel like I alreay experienced everything in the first 45 minutes.
I am a good chunk of the way through my first playthrough, and I'll update this review if anything comes up. Here's what we got so far: - Excellent variety in your arsenal, and the game does a great job giving you new weapons just as you've gotten the hang of the previous ones. Fighting in this game feels a bit like DOOM Eternal, in the sense that you have lots of weapons with their own cooldowns, and you sprinkle them all into the fight for optimal damage. I don't think there are as many, or any, enemy weaknesses to specific weapons, though. You kinda just use every weapon on every enemy. - The voice acing is better than it had to be. There are a FEW weak cutscenes, but for the most part, this is a pretty cinematic experience. A lot of people are pointing out that the story is just meh, and they're right, but I think that's fine for a game like this. Mario doesn't need a better story either, you know what I mean? While "basic," the story made sense, and it tied the levels together. You just need to know going in. If you're specifically seeking out a compelling story/campaign, you should probably play something else. - The animations are better than they had to be. There are these points throughout the game where you just hold W to crawl through a crack in the wall, or balance your way over a piece of wood, and the animations for these all seem to be different, and actually tuned to their environments. The devs absolutely didn't need to do that; and I feel like most games would've used the same animation for each of these sequences. The result goes a long way, though, and helps you feel more immersed, and less like you're playing a video game. - The level design is... kinda excellent. So far, I haven't seen any obviously recycled assets. There's a map in this game set in an abandoned western town, and I spent 15 minutes or so walking around looking at all the shop signs, and they're ALL different! a guy selling 5 cent beef, a guy selling corn, you name it. Many higher budget games recycle and reuse posters, signs, decor, all in the same room, assuming players wouldn't notice (thinking of you... Borderlands). Also, the maps themselves are highly detailed and full of little secrets that feel rewarding every time. - Performance is excellent. I've been getting nothing less than a butter smooth 240fps for pretty much my whole experience, save for maybe a few loading zones, and that's WITHOUT DLSS. I haven't bothered to check my 1% lows, because I haven't needed to. Well done. This game's performance should be talked about more, for how much it embarrasses most AAA titles. - The Bosses! Are great! Earlier I mentioned that enemies don't seem to have specific weaknesses to specific weapons of yours, but frankly, they don't need to. Instead, there always seems to be an optimal weapon to use at any given TIME during an enemy's attacks. As you learn some of the bossfights, you start to realize you can save your weapon cooldowns for when the boss does a certain attack, which may leave them venerable or allow you a quick escape. Some of your attacks require more of a commitment than others. I don't know what it is like on the lower difficulties, as I'm doing Very Evil (or whatever the highest one is called) for my first playthrough. I really, really like how punishing the bosses are. It's like Elden Ring level, they will 1 or 2-shot you, and they've got lots of health. This game makes sure you definitely understand a boss before you can kill it. If the bosses were easier, it would take away from the experience. I want to feel like I am earning my achievements. Well, of course I could get a job in real life, but that's not what I meant. Alright, I think that's it for the stuff I love. Now, on to the jank: - There's an annoying bug that prevents you from moving sometimes after you find and open a loot chest. I've encountered it twice so far, and the only way out is to load your last save, which sometimes means re-fighting some dudes. Luckily, the fighting in this game is fun as hell, so it's not terrible. - Enemies occasionally teleport around?? I think it happens when an enemy tries to move, but you interrupt it with a few stunning melee attacks, and then it tries to resume the move it was doing. I have no idea, that's just an educated guess. This bug isn't too annoying, but it's there. - Some of the assets in this game should be more forgiving with their collision. I got backed into a corner, and I couldn't dodge roll through.... bushes?? Come on now. Let me roll through the bush, please. - I know I just praised the animations, but the weakest animations in this game are the enemy finishers. A few of them involve your player character picking up a massive, heavy object, usually ripped from the enemy, and then smashing them with it. It just doesn't look very convincing or realistic, the way your player character performs these actions. He picks them up like they're made of plastic. You'd have to see it to know what I mean. Considering how often the player sees these, I'm surprised the devs didn't put more work into them, especially compared to the quality of the cutscenes. Co-op: I haven't tried co-op, but everyone who has seems to hate it. From what I can tell, the co-op was not originally intended to be a feature in this game, and it was probably added in haste. I make this guess because the game frankly doesn't need co-op at all; it FEELS like a singleplayer campaign. Your friends and foes all address the player and only the player. The enemies and bosses are all, I think, designed around having 1 player in the arena. Co-op feels like something they added to sell more copies. Price: I got this game for free through my annual Humble Bundle subscription, which is like $100 or so a year and they give you 6-7 games every month. Personally, I do not think this game is worth $50. Maybe... $30. MAYBE $40. This game is definitely more than a team of devs collecting a paycheck; there's real passion and art here. We should support that. The Name: Imma be straight up, Evil West is a terrible name. They were in the studio talm bout "well... it's like a.. western. there's... evil... that you fight. boss, i got it!" Recommended. This is a solid 8/10 or 9/10 game.
For me its: 7.5/10 Fun, old-school action game with no open-world filler. Combat is super punchy and the gauntlet combos feel great. The cowboys vs. vampires theme is unique and looks cool. There are no boring side quests to waste your time. Levels are very linear and feel like simple combat arenas. The story is generic, but the gameplay makes up for it. Perfect game to turn your brain off and smash monsters.
