Great remake and all but it still has horrible stuttering issues and it's extremely unlikely there will be any new patches. I'd recommend getting it on PS5 or Xbox instead.
Amazing game, very scary even compared to the original. Gameplay is obviously pretty similar to the original. Story is imo even better, as are all the extra little easter eggs and attention to detail. One of the best remasters, on par with the REmasters. If you enjoy modern RE or Silent Hill or Alan Wake or whatever, you'll love this. If you enjoyed the original Dead Space, you'll enjoy this. This version alone is better thanks to the uncapped framerate without affecting physics, and ESPECIALLY not having the mouse-movement tied to framerate... Game ran decently well but it requires some beefy hardware with the settings turned up, and occasionally would have some poor stuttering even with my rig. Probably get it on sale.
I recommend standing up to play this game. If you want to sit down, use a concrete slab so that your chair does not break under the weight of your gigantic stones. This game requires nerves of steel and a package to match. Yes there are minor stutters when loading new areas and no they do not happen during combat. I understand that this game is not for everybody and that is why candy crush exists.
Dead Space is one of those games that reminds you why survival horror became such a beloved genre in the first place. The atmosphere is incredible, the sound design is among the best I've ever experienced, and the USG Ishimura remains one of gaming's most unsettling settings. Every corridor feels dangerous, every noise keeps you on edge, and the strategic dismemberment combat still stands out as a unique mechanic years later. That said, despite how close it came to being a masterpiece for me, there was something missing that I can't fully put into words. Having played games like Silent Hill 2 and Alan Wake, I found myself waiting for a deeper emotional connection that never quite arrived. Maybe it was the limited narration, maybe it was the attachment to the characters, or perhaps it was the perspective and portrayal of the protagonist. Whatever it was, there was a small gap between "excellent" and "unforgettable." To be clear, this isn't really a complaint—more of a personal feeling. Dead Space excels at what it sets out to do and remains one of the greatest horror games ever made. The tension, atmosphere, pacing, and sheer sense of dread are all top-tier. It just lacked that extra emotional or psychological hook that elevates games like Silent Hill 2 from great horror experiences to all-time masterpieces in my eyes. Even so, I would absolutely recommend Dead Space to anyone interested in survival horror. It's a genre-defining experience and a game every horror fan should play at least once. Overall: 8.5/10
In the introduction of the original Dead Space the Ishimura is presented to us as a dark and derelict ship, unresponsive to the Kellion's hails. A hopeful but eerie mood fills the shuttle. A crash breaks the feeling of control and sets the stage for the first act. In the remake, the sound design has noticeably regressed, with the sound stage being similar to a low-budget Netflix series made for clarity rather than atmosphere. The characters are significantly more verbose, almost garrulous in their speech. Anything implied in the first game will be spelled out to you in the remake, often several times. Isaac comments how odd it is that the Ishimura isn't responding. Hammond now has visible ears. Skilled actors understand that most people naturally try to hide their emotions, but that they seep through despite it. A good performance of sorrow entails an actor making it look as though he is attempting not to cry, rather than making himself cry. The stilted acting and rigid line delivery of the remake is a lesson in how not to go about showing emotion. The expository filler is a study in how to ruin a horror game's atmosphere. The actors would be better suited to hosting a podcast or starring in a movie such as Deadpool. Why they decided to forego the relatively decent actors of the original game is beyond reason. Gone are dia- and sociolects in favor of uptalk. One must pity the original writers and designers, as all their work in showing, not telling, has been utterly undone. For this we are blessed with improved graphics and a stuttering that won't go away. Even for the 90% sale this game is not recommendable.
imagine you play 2008 game with bunch of updates for 2026 yeah this is what im talking about this remake has the same taste the original game had it you know its new but its old at the same time the remake explained every unknow points in the original story also added some back story for the new players thanks to new updates the game wont need origin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ access to run any way this game got remake just like resident evil 4 got remake so hell yeah 100/100 im waiting for dead space 2 remake or dead space 4
the first letter in the name of each of the game's chapters spelled out in order, "N.I.C.O.L.E. I.S. D.E.A.D."
Muito Recomendado. Obra prima !!!
Impossible to truly enjoy due to an incredible amount of micro-stuttering regardless of settings and some very weak dialogue delivery in the story. The game looks nice at least...
I have loved the original since it released. The remake does an excellent job at bringing the old horror back while adding side missions and story beats that make it feel new. Now redo the second one, please.
