I really wanted to like it, but the horrendous depth of field and constant bugs ruin it for me and make it more frustrating than fun. Some systems should have been left in the past and had some better quality of life updates in the remake. Disappointed.
Hoo boy, where do I begin with this collection? Let's get the good out of the way with: These are three rock solid and fun games and a good entry point for newcomers to the Crash Bandicoot series. Some Quality of Life was applied to these games (mainly the first, as that one's the roughest in terms of diffculty and accessibility), and the addition of the scrapped stage Stormy Ascent in Crash 1 was a pleasant surprise. Adding time trials to Crash 1 and 2 was pretty alright as well (Though I probably could've done without them in 1, at least). Now for the bad (AKA personal nitpicks): I'm going to be frank, I hate the visual style the game went for. I was accepting when the game first released back in 2017, but almost ten years later I find myself disliking it more and more. It's literally the "RTX On" meme, but used unironically and I feel that just...doesn't work for Crash Bandicoot. It wouldn't even be so bad if it was done well, but the lighting in some stages make Crash look pretty rough visually. I'd probably be more fine with it if we got something more stylized akin to Crash 4, or at least something that pays better respects to Crash's inspirations (Looney Tunes being the big one). On top of that, a ton of the personality from the original games are lost as a result. Whether the devs were strapped for time, or they simply didn't bother, there's death animations present in the original that aren't here in the remake, and the ones that are present feel a lot more bland and less comedic. I feel as if the essence and personality of the series is considerably dulled here compared to the original games on PS1. I did say I liked the gameplay, but the physics and hitboxes also feel a bit off compared to the PS1 originals. Having played the originals before revisiting this collection, I found myself missing jumps that I didn't in the original games (Most noticeable with Crash 1). Most folks probably won't notice, but it's the little things that slowly add up over a playthrough that can sour the experience little by little or mess with whatever memories one may have of these games. Nitpicks aside, I'd still recommend the collection, especially if you can get it at the crazy lows the game sometimes go for on sale. As mentioned earlier, it's a good jumping on point if you're new to the franchise, but I wouldn't call it the definitive way to play this series of solid platformers.

N.Sane Trilogy, I wish you could be with me forever. I used Crash Bandicoot to cope a lot when it was stressful for me. The curiosity in 1, the polar bear in 2, the whole game in 3? Naughty Dog was legendary for making this game series on PS1. I will be forever thankful to them. This remaster gets it right with the nostalgia. What I will forever love this game for is for being so animated back then! They basically went full haxx0r for PS1 and made it so good looking, it impressed Shigeru Miyamoto? Jason Rubin, Andy Gavin and everyone who worked on those masterpiece took their brilliance to got full hardcore on PS1 to animate the bandicoot? Crash is so expressive, so lovable, that by the time you realize it you play it on PS1, you remind yourself that you're playing a bandicoot. It's one of the most legendary game series for me. The fact that people can hear the Aku-Aku differently for picking up a mask? Was mindblowing to me, that revelation. It respected your time and your dedication and N.Sane Trilogy is the modern version, that keeps Crash alive? He was a long time mistreated many times. The majority of the games are excellent and N.Sane Trilogy the perfect cake to everything, respects the franchise and gives it a new life? I will forever respect the people, who made the original and the remade version a thing? I loved Crash first I saw him, I wanted to thank people who makes this kind of games? It's like a cartoon, but on steroids? You control a bandicoot in this game? 10/10. For me, it's the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts of this genre.
