With its extensive Tour of Duty campaign, a near-limitless number of skirmish modes, updates and new content for Counter-Strike's award-winning multiplayer game play, plus over 12 bonus single player missions, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is a tremendous offering of single and multiplayer content.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero occupies a strange, often misunderstood place in gaming history. To understand its high rating on Steam today, you have to look past the initial disappointment players felt back in 2004 when it was first released. At the time, it was criticized for feeling rushed and for using an aging engine, especially since Counter-Strike: Source was launched only months later, effectively rendering Condition Zero obsolete in the eyes of the competitive community. However, judged on its own merits today, it has earned a surprisingly positive reputation as a unique, content-rich package that serves a different purpose than the rest of the franchise. The core of the game is essentially Counter-Strike 1.6 but with updated textures, models, and a significantly more polished look. For those who find the original 1.6 too visually dated or hard to get into, Condition Zero offers the same legendary gunplay with a slightly more modern aesthetic. The strongest argument for the game, and the reason it maintains such a positive following, is the single-player content. The Tour of Duty campaign is a tactical, objective-based mode where you lead a squad of AI teammates. It is genuinely challenging and serves as an excellent, low-pressure way for new players to learn map layouts and weapon mechanics without the toxicity of online competitive lobbies. Then there is the Deleted Scenes campaign. This is arguably the most underrated part of the game. It is a linear, story-driven tactical experience that feels more like a hybrid of Half-Life and Counter-Strike. It includes unique gadgets, scripted sequences, and a variety of missions that you simply won't find anywhere else in the series. It was a bold experiment to give Counter-Strike a narrative, and while it isn't perfect, it remains a fun, action-packed retro shooter experience. The verdict is that Condition Zero is a classic case of a game that was hated for its context at launch but loved for its content in the long run. If you are looking for a highly competitive, modern shooter, this isn't it. But if you want a massive, complete package that includes the classic multiplayer formula alongside a unique, story-driven single-player campaign and a robust offline bot mode, it is an incredible value. It is essentially the "black sheep" of the franchise that deserves a fair shake for being a fun, self-contained piece of gaming history.

Classic game, lots of stuff to do. And Deleted Scenes is even better. Personal opinion : when it's fun just play it, graphics don't matter. Whoever is only focused on graphics just go touch grass, it's very realistic.
Reject lootboxes, skins, season passes, gambling Embrace pure gameplay and fun
Counter-Strike: Deleted Scenes... У Counter-Strike.
Bomb Planted, Bomb defused, Counter Terrorist wins!
The ultimate 2000s time capsule that proved Counter-Strike could be a brilliant single-player game. For a generation of gamers who grew up with unreliable dial-up internet, strict household screen-time rules, or computers that simply couldn't handle the jump to Source, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was an absolute godsend. It is a beautifully unique piece of Valve history that transformed a hardcore, online-only multiplayer sweat-fest into a deeply comforting, accessible single-player experience. Firing it up today instantly triggers a wave of mid-2000s nostalgia, calling back to the days of tweaking bot difficulty sliders on a dusty Windows XP machine, all while the familiar, crunchy GoldSrc engine weapon sounds echoed through your headphones. The heart and soul of this game lies in its iconic "Tour of Duty" campaign mode. Instead of getting instantly headshotted by online players who spent 14 hours a day practicing recoil patterns, Condition Zero gave you a tactical, progress-based ladder to climb at your own pace. You were tasked with building your own custom squad of AI counter-terrorists—each with their own funny dossiers, bravery stats, and favorite weapons—to take down bots across classic maps like de_dust2 and cs_militia. The addition of specific level challenges, like forcing you to get a certain number of kills with a tactical shield or a Grenade Launcher before moving on, turned standard CS matches into addictive, arcade-like puzzle levels. Then, of course, there is the legendary Deleted Scenes campaign—a completely separate, linear single-player story that feels like an interactive 2004 action movie. Getting to play as specialized international forces, from the British SAS to the French GIGN, while sneaking through secret Siberian facilities or escaping a crashed helicopter, gave the rigid CS gunplay a wonderfully cinematic flavor. It represents a lost era of game development where developers weren't trying to sell you weapon skins or battle passes; they were just trying to give you a solid, offline campaign to blow through on a rainy Friday night. It remains a flawless, nostalgic comfort-food shooter that deserves a spot in every classic PC gaming library. 10/10 — My internet went down for a week in 2005, and this game saved my life. Shoutout to my favorite bot, Cooper.
I love Valve's games but why tf is the single player such a drag, it's just aimbot bots vs a team of lobotomised bots and you to carry them. It gets annoying and boring quickly. Go play counter strike source instead.
Essentially just more of CS 1.6 Adds a bunch of new stuff and is pretty fun. Too bad a lot of these GoldSrc games are pretty niche these days and getting into a server with other people is rare
-> Features a singleplayer campaign -> Takes ~1GB of storage -> Lower system requirements -> Classic gameplay
