10/10 Corpse Party: Book Of Shadows is the second in the Corpse Party series. Masterpiece horror RPG visual novel. Corpse Party: Book Of Shadows may be a second in the series but it does amazingly as a standalone story, although the player should definitely finish Corpse Party prior to playing. It’s a 3D story rich horror RPG visual novel, unlike the first game which leans more heavily towards vanilla RPG. Corpse Party: Book Of Shadows primarily focuses on the classmates trying to escape Heavenly Host Elementary School. This installation focuses more heavily on the visual novel aspect but is an equal in terms of mood setting via music, words, and sound. The art is fantastic and the things the classmates go through is true nightmare fuel. Multiple endings and not for the faint of heart. I encountered no bugs while playing. It took me ~18 hours to complete the game with all achievements. No cards but Steam Point Shop items are available! Like the first title, there’s fanservice that feels wrong to read considering the age of the characters. Pros

Central to the story. A lot of context was added.
Fantastic story.
Fantastic worldbuilding.
Likeable characters.
Extremely memorable.
Great writing.
Great art.
Eerie music and sound effects.
Multiple endings.
Genuinely scary.
Encountered no bugs while playing.
Achievements are achievable.
Steam Point Shop items are available.
Cons

Really weird fan service.

A lot of the criticism I read revolved around how Corpse Party: Book of Shadows leans more towards visual novel than RPG, which is a massive difference compared to the original Corpse Party but I loved reading it as a visual novel. I personally think it added to the dread I felt while playing through it. morishige has serious issues but god do i love him
10/10 for Corpse Party fans!! It not only acts a sequel, but is a sequel for some of the different optional endings in the first game. It gives additional information on other schools and characters that we didn't get too much of in the first game!! Definitely recommend it, but it is more of a visual novel with a point and click style/
The game changed from an RPG to a visual novel, and honestly it’s way more interesting. The intro animation really caught my attention because it shows how much the survivors had to suffer. I’ll come back and write a full review after I finish the gam
Book of Shadows feels more like a dark expansion to the first game than a traditional sequel, but that works in its favor. By shifting to a walking-sim visual novel format, it doubles down on atmosphere, dread, and psychological horror rather than the top-down isometric gameplay of the original. By exploring the characters’ trauma and guilt, the game makes its horror feel intimate and cruel, as each story’s descent reinforces the idea that no one ever leaves Heavenly Host the same.
yay
this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring
Blood Covered.
