More fashionable then Asteroids!
We all know Asteroids, the super-popular arcadegame from 1979, I am happy to announce there is a better and more entertaining version of it called "Cube Destroyer". Cube Destroyer gives you an epic nostalgic feeling which causes you to play for hours in a row. The objective is simple, pass the level by destroying the villain blocks and spawners. But watch out; some of the blocks can shoot back! Cube Destroyer could be considered a better game then Asteroids since it has way better graphics, no bugs and cool music! Pros:

Any non-acient PC can handle the game. If you want to check if you can handle the game, go to "canyourunit.com".
Nostalgic feeling which entertains you for hours.
Easy, basic controls very easy to learn.
Personally I love the music, it suits the game really really well!
Cube Destroyer is very well balanced, the levels are not impossible to beat but it is very hard to beat a level in only one try.
When you die it is not a disaster, you immediately restart the same level.
Very pretty backgrounds, great for the eye.
Playing this game will improve your reaction time slowly but steady.
Cons:

75 levels, all very nice but also very similar. The levels get harder and get different enemies but I feel like this game is too similar to Asteroids as in gameplay.
There are no power-ups which could possibly make Cube Destroyer even better!
The concept of the game is not unique, there are a lot of games with the same concept, nevertheless is this game still really good!
No sense of progression except for the fact that you move to the next (possibly harder) level.
Overall experience: Cube Destroyer is an awesome game, I can guarantee you will have loads of fun playing this game! For just 3€ I would recommend this game to anyone who likes having fun! If game will be too hard - you can use mouse scroll wheel to zoom out the camera. Good game! Rating: I would rate the game "Cube Destroyer" a 8/10!
Want more recommendations? Come see our reviews on our favorite upcoming games!
This got to be the most boring shooter I have ever played!
I bought this game because it was .74 cents. It may have been a waste of .74 cents. I have 13 minutes of play time. I played 8 minutes yesterday, and then got bored. Today I played 5 minutes, and then got bored. There is a totally free game on miniclip.com called Super Awesome Tanks 2 that is a better version of this game. Super Awesome Tanks 2: Upgraded abilites, Like 8 different weapons, upgradable weapons, FREE Cube Destroyer: No upgradable abilities, same single shot weapon the entire game, not upgradeable, costs money. I kind of feel like a fool for bashing on a .74 cent game but hey, you probably shouldn't waste your time/money. Go buy a candy bar or something. RIP to the people who bought this game at full price.
A simplistic, fast-paced top-down shooter which reminded me of the good-old tank shooter called Combat (this is a very old game released back in the '70s on Atari). This is a great example that good games can be made with the use of Unity. This is a no brainer - you eliminate all the rival tanks (I know they are cubes but due to nostalgia I could only see all cubes as military vehicles) in order to complete a level. Since the game is fast-paced an hour or so is enough to complete all 75 stages. Although the graphics are simple some extra effects I would have loved to see such as explosions. Also, while including factories that keep spawning enemies is a great idea after 10 stages or so you have seen everything there is to see - no new enemies are introduced later on. This is a great little game if you have a couple of hours to kill.
Finally beat it. Level 75 was pretty tough. It's a very good game, I love the music and it really gets the blood pumping. Few tips because i've seen people complaining that the game is too hard (seriously?). Run in circles around turrets, don't stop moving, take out spawners while avoiding getting shot, don't just shoot enemies and try and clear them before taking out spawners or turrets, it won't work. You have to ignore enemies and focus on one thing. I beat the last level by going for the higher level spawners first then the smaller ones. Then I got all the turrets last. Took me 30 minutes to beat it.
This game is oldschool so it is good. The gameplay is good, but you can be mad easily, because some levels are long and hard. Unfortunately this game doesn't have achievements. But you can get trading cards.
Didn't expect much , I was pleasantly surprised though. Reminds me of a game I used to play like 15 years ago , the music is awesome too!
Game that has potential. 25 levels in and no power ups, no different weapons, enemies haven't changed since level 5ish, and no real change in game mechanics at all. Loses its appeal quick, very repetitive, and kinda boring.
Cube destroyer, as the name implies, is a simple game where you either kill the red cubes shooting at you, or be killed. There's a bit of bullet hell to this game, as the more enemy spawns the more bullets you have to dodge. Staying still is not an option, you constantly need to move around. (TIP: I find the fishbowl movement around the corners of the map the best at dealing with most enemies in the earlier levels) Although it's not my cup of tea, I will give the game kudos for actually being playable to those not familiar with the genre like me, and for being fair in the scaling of difficulty as you go up the levels. The maps are wide-area, pattern-tiled spaces with some walls and obstacles here and there. Nothing too complex, flashy nor eye-straining to see. And the pixel music is fitting to these block "cube" characters. Do give Cube Destroyer a try!
