I really want to support an independent developer, but I can't recommend this one. I have a feeling that this project was far too ambitious, and I personally would have enjoyed a smaller, more thoughtful and polished game much more. Everything about the weapons in this game is terribly wrong. The enemies' bullet velocity is hilariously slow - a thrown stone travels faster. You ♥♥♥♥ the AK with the fire selector locked. The Desert Eagle is three times cheaper than the Makarov and only slightly more powerful. The magazine ejection mechanic on AK rifles is incorrect. Perhaps the worst part of this game is the enemies' AI and animations - they are as primitive as they can be. I can't even discuss them seriously, they are straightforwardly bad. The scale of things is off. The Desert Eagle is tiny. There is a decorative watch on the AK-12 - it is hilariously small. The game design is also poorly thought-out. You can't grab a pistol if you aren't looking at it. The current speaker in a dialogue box is not clearly identified, making it difficult to understand who is talking. The English localization is lacking - there are a lot of Slavic expressions that are directly translated and are therefore unfamiliar to English speakers. The translation quality is also not ideal. I hope my review won't discourage the developer. I can see that he is passionate about a wonderful game concept, but it isn't there yet.
The campaign is super short but fun. I got this and Origin in a bundle and project x was only like £1. I only recommend this game when it's on sale because $16 is too expensive, plus, when it goes on sale it's like £4. And the fact that this was made by one guy is really cool. Other than that, good game, Origin is much better though.
I have played these Kinds of games alot over the years . Flat screen and VR. And I rate these Zona projects higher than things like into the radious and stalker and a few others. This one has a dark spooky feel to it. the weapons and enemies and exploration is all well balanced. really immersive. On a side note , This game is far far better than into the radious 2. itr1 was good , but ITR2 sux donkey donuts . I would go for this anyday. but it is PCVR so if you have to play stand alone get into the radious part 1. stilll really solid.
This is a fun game, I finished it in around 4 hours, but haven't seen EVERYthing, but I've seen the majority of it by the achievements I got. It's not barebones as some people here state, it's pretty decent, specially if you get it on sale. It's not perfect, but you will have fun playing it. I know I had.
ONLY BUY ON A SALE, I was happying paying $8 for it, not sure if I would be happy above that. This game is janky and B-grade as heck. B-grade is probably being generous. Voice acting sucks ass, I assume it is AI (but hey! at least it has some!). But the AI voice acting which has zero appropriate emotional inflection, combined with the incomprehensible dialogue will leave your head spinning at exactly what is even happening at any given moment in the plot. Levels are tiny, AI kind of stupid, animations primative to the point of making you laugh. BUT, I have had plenty of fun running around shooting stuff. Despite how utterly crap this game is, I am enjoying it, even bought the next one!
Prime example for mixed review, however in my opinion more leaning towards negative. Very janky, especially controls, very simple AI and gunplay. Not terrible for first VR experience by solodev, however 20€ asking price is way too much for what this is. Play Into the Radius 1/2 or Convrgence instead, better games both.
been playing this for a few hours and have been getting into it, tho gameplay feels a bit clunky sometimes, some of the sound effects (gunshots an ricochet) sounds like theyre from 007 goldeneye, story feels good tho voice lines at the beginning sound like ai with no emotion, there isnt a crouch button or a menu button and no autosave witch can be a pain sometimes, overall a good game and a nice change of pace from other available games like into the radius and convergence
