So many diverse levels are bundled into an affordable package. The platforming is fast and fun, and a single gameplay mechanic never overstays its welcome! I couldn't wait to see what the next challenge would be. I love how levels are unlocked from collecting items throughout the courses, which gave me many options to try if I got stuck on a single level. This game is worth every penny, give it a shot!
cat🐈⬛/🐈 box 📦 paradox ❓ is a very good platformer - tight controls. it feels a bit like a twitch platformer, especially closer to the end, but it's not too heavy on execution, getting a correct idea how to solve is usually more important - you don't have to complete every single level to progress, i.e. you won't get stuck if there's one problematic level - has a decent amount of levels: main batch is decently big, they have some side-objectives and there're extra levels after the end of the main batch (which are pretty fun)
Cat Box Paradox

Cats - The Universal Symbol Of Love
Cats are the best source of Serotonin for anyone. They’re so adorable! The protagonist in this game is a cat! Okay so, the game uses an extremely simple mechanic. What is unique is how creatively they built this entire game around that one particular mechanic. It’s basically a simple color-switching mechanic where you have to switch between two colors; black and white.
About This Game

Storyline
To my surprise, this game actually has a tiny plot to support whatever goes on in the game. I honestly thought it would be storyless like other arcade games. The tale is very short and simple but it gives a lot of meaning to the overall game. So, it goes something like this:
Play as Einstein the cat which causes a mess and brings in an unstable alternate dimension to the current one. You need to help this feline to restore order before its owners return home. Are you up for the challenge?
As you can make out, the story is pretty simplistic. As I mentioned before, it’s just there to support the events that take place in the game. If you’re looking for a story-rich experience, I am sorry but you’re at the wrong party.
Gameplay
This game makes clever use of one simple mechanic. What is this mechanic? Basically, your cat can shift between two colors, black and white. How it works is that there are color-specific elements in the game that require either of these colors in order to interact with them. Apart from those, there are a ♥♥♥♥ tonne of obstacles that are picky on what colors can pass through them. If the opposite color comes into contact with the obstacle, the cat disintegrates and you have to restart. This game is Speedrunner friendly since they included a timer in the UI. I mean, the overall gameplay depends on how you time your movement and your overall reaction speed. This easily makes the game speedrun-worthy since the overall gameplay mostly involves movement. This doesn’t mean that you are forced to finish levels as fast as possible. You can obviously take the casual approach and complete each level at your own pace! In this game, in order to proceed to the next level, getting from the start to finish isn’t sufficient. You are supposed to collect those black and white coins throughout the level. This makes the speedrunning part of the game a bit challenging since if you miss a coin, you’re forced to backtrack in order to collect it again which isn’t favorable for em speedrunners. This forces them to restart the run. I am sure everyone loves a challenge! The obstacles start off as simple platforms which are either black or white in color. It then evolves into a huge variety of different obstacles like clouds, disappearing blocks, portals, Flashlights, windmills, etc. There’s always something different at each level. This makes sure that we stay invested till the end. There’s a local 2-player co-op mode that requires a joystick for the second player. I couldn’t try it since I played it solo :(. There are also cosmetics for the cat. These cosmetics are basically just different hats. Cat in a hat!
Visuals & Audio
They deliver what they promised. They promised us an 8-Bit retro-inspired art style and they delivered it perfectly. The visuals are so calming. It’s an escape from the modern-day violent visuals in most action games. I also love how they sneaked in cat puns whenever they found an open opportunity. Overall, they nailed this segment!
Pros

A really unique, fun, and challenging gameplay!
Cute 8-bit art-style and retro-inspired music.
The game is speedrunner friendly.
Cute cosmetics.
There’s a local co-op mode!

Cons
The game is pretty fun. I haven’t faced any issues personally. Everything is smooth and works as it’s supposed to.
Conclusion
This game is hella fun! It’s a “Don’t judge a book by its cover” moment. Although it might not look like much on the store page, it’s actually very fun once you play the game. It’s worth every penny you invest in it! I hope they add more levels to it in future updates. If you want to save a few bucks, then you obviously have to wait for a sale. Reviewer: Midplayz Cats are connoisseurs of comfort. Very charming little game. Love the 8-bit retro style. Great soundtrack too. The level of difficulty, as far as I can tell right now, is just right. Can be challenging, but always fun.
Fun and simple platformer, actually engaging with the level design, pretty good platforming fun so far.
Fun platformer with a unique twist. HIGHLY recommend using a controller instead of keyboard for this one.
Really fun and cute game. The controls are snappy, the music is pretty good and the levels aren't too complex. I really enjoy the simple mechanic of changing colors to move through puzzle elements; it helps to keep the game fun and interesting. I'm not at all bored or frustrated with any puzzles so far which is great. Also, cats...and puns.
I loved this game the moment I started playing it! I really enjoyed all the different mechanics that are included as you progress through the levels. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was a co-op feature, that I have had good fun on with my friend (we managed to not kill each other too). Really fun little platformer, solo or co-op, be warned tho, it gets much harder!
Watched a stream and started playing this game. It is pretty damn good, levels are creative and you really need to think on what you do otherwise you forget to switch colors and you get screwed. 10/10
