About
[DEVELOPER NOTE: Hey, I'm DoctorLoops! Headspace was a game I privately worked on as a fun hobby, but when my webcomic started getting big, I eventually had to abandon game development. Rather than delete Headspace, I wanted to publish the content that I was able to finish so everyone can play it! Even though the game is unfinished, I hope you enjoy what I was able to make!]

"After an electrical accident at your computer, you suddenly find yourself trapped inside your own mind! To make things worse, thanks to your mind-numbing job and over-reliance on the internet, your mind is creatively bankrupt - bleak nothingness as far as the eye can see, while malicious Dark Thoughts roam the depths of your subconscious. With the power of Inspiration, your lewd Fantasies, and long-lost Memories, there might just be a way to repair your broken mind and escape the confines of your Headspace!

Solve puzzles while traversing the realm of your mind and battle against dangerous Dark Thoughts! Then come home and give your wife a smooch.

Your mind is a pretty sexual place, but thankfully, so are all the denizens of your thoughts! Help them out and maybe they'll reward you (at least, the ones that aren't trying to end you!)

Even having NSFW content in a JRPG style game still doesn't do it for me. I just don't like the genre.
This game was damn good. First NSFW game I've ever owned and I'm happy this was the first. Story was good and the characters are perfect and made with genuine care. My only complaint is that it wasn't finished but that is okay as you can only do so much. One day it may be finished but if not; I'm happy i even got to experience this.
You'll love this game if you're already a fan of DoctorLoops's works. It was recently changed from free to like a buck or so (depending on the region) to allow for more fanservice, by qualifying to get cards, emotes and backgrounds; so if you're a dedicated fan, be on the lookout for those, and remember to buy the game so you can get those items in the steam points shop if and when they come up. Do keep in mind that the game is rather short, but it has many scenes.
I did 25 out of 34 achievements before giving up. The one where the code is behind the Patreon is a bit devious. In terms of story and premise, it is very interesting. The characters have creative and funny dialogue (especially Zero). But it suffers from the RPG Maker game curse where the combat is tedious and just not fun. I hope one day DoctorLoops can continue the story or premise of HeadSpace in a different format. Maybe as a visual novel or as a set of comics.
Steam Deck playtime (4hours) removed from account for some reason Headspace in spite of the disclaimer of abandonment & lack of price tag is not worth your time. It exists as an advertisement for the creator's Patreon & Web comic instead of providing a quality experience with frequent notifications about the Webcomic & Patreon the game was abandoned for. I was also notified by Windows that the .exe file requested location & tracking data upon launch. What content exists outside of the hub world expanding with gained memory (as per game description) is a grind filled back n forth turn based battler with uninteresting interactions and incomplete content paths. Not a single piece of content is complete as they all have abrupt endings reminding you of the Patreon; with the exception of an entire room & area that has been dedicated to promote the Web comic & its unique characters alongside locking content behind a Patreon subscription.
7.8 hours..7.8 hours dev amd you never finished the game?? Why do you hurt me so. I had a BLAST with this game, the characters, the story, the lewdness, the gameplay, the humor, ALL of it was perfect. I had so much fun, so much and then I get the message saying that "the dev never finished this area and blah blah blah" I was so heartbroken. I was so invested in that scribble that got the job at the office, he was so happy and then went to talk to the boss and nothing after that cause the dev never finished it. I need a conclusion to his story or at least the story in general. Don't leave it like this dev, you have such a fun and great thing going. Don't leave it to die, please. Amazing game, I pray the dev sees this and continues to work on and finish this master piece and I mean that dev, from the bottom of my heart. (Maybe some dlc perhaps, to entice more production"
It's fun, it's cheap, and it's pretty short. Biggest flaws IMO are that it feels almost like a demo for a full-length game (only a handful of items, one permanent party member you acquire in the final story dungeon, etc) and that the balancing gears it a little towards grinding if you aren't rummaging through every interactable in the game. Aside from that? Charming characters, a fun (taster of a) story, and enough content for a couple of hours' worth of entertainment. Hopefully a finished version will come around someday, because I quite like what I saw here. Aria's confession booth scene especially.
Good game, but It really is a shame that It is not finished. Still a blast of game.
I've really enjoyed the content in this game so far, and seeing that it wasn't finished (currently anyway) was sad, but I hope that we get to see more of it in some shape or form some day! The art style that you have is very cute, and I think it's a great base for adding in side-stuff, so I thought it was neat when you included your comics! The story, while silly, is surprisingly wholesome and I've enjoyed completing quests to make the characters happy!! Thanks for publishing this passion project of yours Doc, if not this game I hope you make another one in the future! ^^
Got it for the NSFW, stayed for the plot and gameplay game fun asf hope they continue it
