Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!
Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!
Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.
Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!
Take advantage of elemental chemistry to apply extra buffs or debuffs alongside your attack, or even alter your opponent’s elemental type!
Team up with a friend in local multiplayer to explore, transform, and fight together!
Party up with Online Multiplayer to trade monster tapes, challenge your friends to 1v1 battles, and team up to take on powerful Rogue Fusion beasts for great rewards!

Incredible game. I hate to draw the comparison but when comparing this game to pokemon, this game clears it in every aspect. This game has an incredible open world, incredible side characters, a 2v2 battle format, No need to level grind in specific beasts since level is tied to your player not your beasts, Much more freedom in build variety with the sticker system, awesome boss fights and boss designs, incredible soundtrack, great post-game and side content aswell. Absolutely recommend this game to anyone on the fence and anyone who is a fan of the creature collector genre (pokemon, smt, etc)
After spending more time with this, I just kind of hate it. Combat is interesting until it isn't anymore. The whole thing is just frustrating. It's worth a play but the everything about the game slowly turns from interesting, funny, endearing, or well done to just grating and pretentious once you spend a decent chunk of time with it. The game has a knack for seeming thought provoking, but in the same type of ways a 90s sitcom was deep and philosophical.
Please nerf the Nuclear Scarab for the sequel, good game otherwise.
Fun Pokémon type game.
Nothing could top pokemon nostalgia, but mechanically this is truly a better game by a mile
7 Saat oynadım ve oynamaya devam edeceğim şu anlık gayet güzel gidiyor özellikle Pub'daki şarkı aşırı huzur verici, hikaye olarak da gayet ilgi çekici eğer bu türe ilginiz varsa kesinlikle denemenizi öneririm .-. Bu arada Türkçe dil eklense 10 numara olur. (We want Turkish Language!!!)
This is SUCH a cool game! Like that other major creature collector game but better! I would DEFINITELY give this 5 stars, if we could give stars.
My time with Cassette Beats was great, I really enjoyed my time playing the game to completion! Althought theres some things I feel I should mention for anyone wanting to journey into Cassette Beasts: The games style and feel felt like it would've been better suited for a non linear story, the catching creatures feels great however what didnt do it for me was the travelling around the map, some areas can feel a little empty, certain paths or areas felt visually flat and unfinished, my favourite area in the game has to be the forest area on the top of the map, its just full and its very filled visually compared to the other areas of the world. The ending felt like a proper battle you'd have during J-RPG but it felt out of place from the rest of the game, I really do wish for their 2002 game coming, they lean more into the story elements more as the relationships and building characters up in my opinion is always the funnest part of the game, seeing them level as the relationship grew just tickles my brain, and makes me enjoy the characters more. The Type and battle system is freakin AWESOME ngl, granted during my playthrough of 31 hours I did no use every move or type in the game, but seeing the interactions with the turn based system, the type interactions are far better and more interesting in changing the combat encounters, than games like pokemon. The Vibes are very chill, there where four music artists who made the music for the game and I'm sad to say only some of the songs I jeled with, for average enemies the music gets very repetitive quick making range battles feel more unique with their unique music they get, I felt as if it started to drive me crazy hearing the same music going back in areas I had already been to, but over all, the soundtrack when your trying to become captain of the rangers is peak imo. This may be my opinion so be warned, The wobbly text that vibrates and moves when a large creature or entitiy is talking hurt my eyes and with it being so large I felt as if I needed to try harder to read simply lines of dialogue, I'm an avid book reader and it made me actually feel dizzy trying to read text like that, idk if thats the point or not but jeeze, I'd say only make certain worlds that matter the most for characters dialogue shake or have it be a different color at least. An extra pointer I gotta give credit for is having a great UI, some games skip out of a good UI and it can make or break a game, thankfully Cassette Beasts has a fantastic UI, everything is just mwah (I kissed it uwu) Overall Id say the strongest things going for this game is the unique artstyle, the creatures and animations, the battle system / type system and the relationships + the UI, progression also feels pretty cool capturing creatures gives you better world travelling skills which I thought was clever, why isnt Pokemon doing that naturally, Cassette Beasts did it best instead of silly TM surf to swim nah just grab the seal BAMB water is no longer a fear :3 I gotta give Cassette Beasts a solid 7.6/10 Alot may enjoy it, but only some with finish it. (Thanks for Reading, Zyphreon out)
A great monster catcher/battler game. The story was intriguing and the characters well defined. I loved the innovations on the shiny mechanic, as well as having the sprites for the shiny mons flicker in the overworld--seeing one out of the corner of my eye was always exciting, even if I did overkill a few lol. The moves ("stickers") worked in such a fun way, and playing around with fusing stickers in the post game occupied me for quite a while, though admittedly most of it was figuring out which attributes could be fused with which stickers. It also opened up every mon to be OP as possible, and used in a variety of niches. It did feel like multi-target mons were more desirable, what with the majority of battles being 2v2, but that could also just be how I like to play. I do think fusion battles should give fusion material based on level than whatever it is now, considering fusion material is in such demand post main story. Earning one per fight even past lv 100 does not feel very good, a grind just for the sake of a grind and not a reward. Otherwise a very satisfying game.
