Reviews
Full play through with all achievements here: https://youtu.be/MEGozqW8Ho8 I will update the review when the game full releases but as of right now it's not worth the $2.99 to be honest like the disclaimer says this is incredibly early access like should be a prologue or demo early access. This game really needs a tutorial I'm not sure what type beats what type and catching entodrives seems like Really difficult terrible RNG to be honest, larger text for the ability moves, the interact key is unresponsive AS HELL you gotta spam it to get some people to talk to you, the combat is a bit uninspired and level of entodrive seems to decide everything 3 entodrives cannot even barely touch a level 11 if they're underleveled which makes them seem like it's going to be super grind heavy which is kind of poor even in pokemon your pokemon do damage unless your extremely outleveled not like 2-4 level difference but like maybe if they're level 20 and you're level 7 you might see that type of disparity. I also slid off the map into a hole it's a good thing the game does seems to have an auto save, but at the same time that whole play through is wasted now as my dude is stuck in the bottom of the sea. I think it's cool they're trying to make a new type of pokemon, but it's got a LONG way to go atm easy to get achievements though once you find out where to go. I did try to the debug settings as well the teleport to center of map/moon jump enabling did nothing for me either.
Played for about half an hour and... it's an ok game. Not great though. + Interesting Pokemon clone + Pleasing visuals (reminds me of Minecraft Pokemon... Pixelmon, was it?) + OST is alright for what it is + Speed up feature is massively appreciated, especially since there's no running shoes or whatever + That debug mode is a godsend, cancels out the need for grinding altogether - Movement is super clunky, took me an entire 25 ish minutes to get used to it, and even then I didn't like it fully. Wish there was diagonal movement too. - You have to CONFIRM whether you want to use moves in battle, which imo just kills the pacing. It doesn't make the game unplayable by any means but... was it really necessary? - The story is just... kinda there. I have zero idea what the hell's even going on in this game. Overall I did get SOME enjoyment out of this, but I don't think I enjoy it ENOUGH to justify doing a full playthrough tbh. Up to you whether you wanna try this out but... yeah, not for me I guess. Props for the effort put into this though :)
Okay....so, I have been excited for this game because the art style is really fun. I love the "paper" pop up book feel of the world with the pixel characters. Now, I know this game LITERALLY just hit early release so I'm going to be VERY GENTLE with this. ((also i'm only 14 mins into it lol)) So, 3 dollars to get access to it early is more then fair, esp since this game is VERY much in early state. Couple bads: -interacting with people/objects requires sometimes hitting the interact button several times -no tutorial on how to catch anything (i'm assuming you use the "hack this entomon," option however they keep countering my hack hahaha). -When choosing your starter its....kinda um...well not well set up. I just guessed mine was water cuz it's color (there's no info on the creatures when you hover over them) -The menu is very bland (organized though I'll give you all that) -the pixels for the creatures and characters though could use a touch up for sure. Some of the creatures just kinda look like weird pixels that fight -the attack animation def leaves something to be desired. NOW I WOULD like to reiterate this game is VERY MUCH in early mood and I can tell where they are going with this and I can see the potential that a game in this style has. However, It is playable I def reccomend spending the $3 bucks. I mean at best you get to see what this evolves into, I can tell alot of heart went into this and I for one am def strapping in for the ride. I will be streaming this too a little bit here and a little bit there. Every time something new is updated or added I will def jump on my Twitch and help spread love for this game. Keep up the work guys, you have a gem on your hands. Just needs ALOT of polish.
Entodrive is a Pokemon-like adventure that I've grown fond of over my 3+ hours of playing. The one person development team is very active, with weekly updates indicating what was added/changed, as well as what is in store for the next update. As the community is relatively small, any feedback you have will be read and considered as part of future development, it's a fun experience! The game is still in an alpha state and is enjoyable as-is. It's well worth the price if you are prepared going in that there are unfinished aspects to the game, and crashes will happen from time to time. Thankfully the game has a robust save system and is very quick to boot up and resume your progress. I also enjoy the music a lot. If you have fond memories of playing Pokemon, you'll likely enjoy exploring Cache Isle.
Cool creature collector game
good game that's updated frequently.
I recommend this game cause it gives me nostalgic memories of the og pokemon games for the gameboy. The graphics are incredible, but i have some issues with this game. The soundtrack really hurts my ears, I'm sorry to the composer who made the music, but i did NOT like the soundtrack at all. Capturing the entodrive (this games word for pokemon) it sometimes can be a pain, even when i get the entodrive to it's LOWEST health and try to capture it (it still finds a way to fight back). You need to save your progress manually. (I don't think this game has an auto-save). The encounter happens often in this game. I'd walk around then an enemy entodrive would appear, I'd defeat it. A SECOND LATER another encounter happens. Like wtf I barely even moved! Once again, this game has it's issues. For the price, i think it's worth it. If it was higher, i'd totally not recommend this game at all. The redeeming factor in this game is really the graphics, it's just that good.
Nice relaxing game. Hope see more
A very good quick fling for the price!
The movement is way too clunky and monster designs way too uninteresting for me to get invested in this game. The whole vibe of the starting experience is kind of like a fever dream, the music being a huge contributor to that. Seems like it's going for a mystical/haunted feel when the town is just your basic starter zone. Kind of like my character just took some ketamine and started walking around the neighborhood park.
