(Doubly so if you're a fan of puns and monster girls.) For those who don't feel like reading a more detailed review, I have nothing but praise for this game at full price, let alone on sale. Just go out and get this one. It's a hardcore thumbs up with no qualifications or caveats, and is on the short list of most pleasantly surprising games I've reviewed in 2022. The pixel graphics and art style suit this lighthearted game perfectly. The exaggerated art also gives off a certain “Maniac Mansion” or “Day of the Tentacle” vibe. It's a call back to the classics in all of the right ways. The controls are intuitive, and while the game didn't recognize my controller (for whatever reason), the game doesn't require anything complex enough to need a controller anyway. The soundtrack is similarly upbeat and engaging, really adding to the vibe of the game (you're at a monsters-only Halloween party). While the music loops, the loops are long and never hit a point where I even debated muting the sound. The gameplay loop is very simple – you run around a surprisingly large map and interact with a variety of wacky NPC's, all of whom want something from you. In exchange, you'll receive either a crucial item you need for someone else, or you'll be allowed to take their risque picture. A dozen pictures, and your work is done. Many of the requests/demands the characters make will not be obvious, in terms of how to complete their mission, and some will require more work than others, in typical adventure game fashion. However, with enough wandering around and talking with other NPC's and searching the map, they always become clear. I do feel like pointing out that if you're not a fan of puns, you're probably going to find this game slightly less amusing than I did. Nearly every character will make either a pun or a monster joke. The dialogue is deliberately cheesy, and is designed to evoke a certain amount of a B-movie feel. In many cases, this sort of thing would feel lazy, but here it's perfect for the tone of the game, very much a wink-and-nod deal. This is one of the most competently made and creative adult games I've played this year. It succeeds in being fun – it would be fun without the adult content. We need more games like this, and fewer shovelware games that feature dry and tedious half-baked content for a “reward” of a dozen anime nudes that look like a Deviantart reject page's doodles.

I like retro-style games and from the same developer I really enjoyed the puzzler [i]Crawlco Block Knockers[/i]. I'm glad that I can say the same about this [i]Boo Party[/i]! Same retro vibe, colorful graphics, feel good atmosphere, banging synth-pop tunes, pervy but good-natured attitude and a nice imitation of arcade titles from the past (guess someone else remembers [i]Toobin'[/i]), but with a spooky campy Halloween twist! BP is inspired by the similar title [i]Foto Flash[/i], where you are a photographer taking pics of some cute and sexy (monster)girls. They will ask you some favors in return, leading to some fetch quests or silly mini-games of varying styles and difficulty: basically the game is all here, but there's plenty of goofy humour, secrets, nice characters and colorful locales (the mansion is huge) that it never feels like a chore. The in-game log (the ghost in the portrait) is also useful to keep track of all the various quests. It needs to be said that the dev listens to fans and buyers: when it turned out that some of the mini-games were admittedly too frustrating or difficult, not only he patched them, so that they are much more manageable, now they can also be skipped if one only wants to relax and follow the wacky plot and the chill vibes. I can't say it enough: I really needed such a good-natured, campy game that is funny without being too stupid and lewd without being too vulgar or disgusting. And now, let's chill out and party!

So many secrets! - Game desperately needs a map & quest journal - Dancing rhythm section really needs some sort of on-screen indication, it's way too precise to do blind ----------------------------------------- [h1]--- Overview ---[/h1] An exploration puzzle game where you play the role of a photographer trying to capture some paranormal photos, you stumble into an afterlife Halloween party where the denizens of the otherworld gather to party like never before! Complete tasks for the bodacious beasts of the afterlife and be rewarded with eye candy photographs featuring the women bearing all! [h1]--- Character Design ---[/h1] Most of the women in the game follow a rather same-y body type: slender with typically big breasts. The true differences come in the shape of what they're modeled after, whether it be a vampire, a werewolf (best), a mermaid, witch, serial killer, alien... that kind of stuff! These differences are definitely good enough to feel different from every other character design and the spritework also does a great job of conveying character design. [h1]--- The LEWDS ---[/h1] There are 15 photos you can unlock while playing the game, all of which feature a girl typically naked or near-naked with her breasts showing but not a whole lot else. No truly sexual content is present in the game, nor is there anything under the waist except for some rear shots. The game remains in the realm of 'tasteful lewd' where it feels like the lewds take a backseat to the gameplay itself. All of the character images you unlock have to do with the character's personality, which is a great addition! The vampire has a glass of wine and poses in a posh manner, while the cat lies down smugly and lazily. The images perfectly capture the personality of these characters and makes them uniquely stand apart from each other. That being said, for how tame the game itself kind of is aside from some raunchy humor, it does feel a little wanting in the realm of lewd content. [h1]--- Gameplay Overview ---[/h1] Exploring the mansion is a hell of a task. This place is huge and you WILL get lost. The game really would benefit from a good map function so you aren't constantly getting lost trying to find one certain place, but I suppose that's part of the puzzle too, isn't it? The puzzles are pretty straight-forward in that they're not impossible or unreasonable to figure out and even has some characters in the game that are there to provide some hints or remind you of stuff that you haven't finished yet since there isn't really an in-game quest journal to work with, either. I think some more UI functionality to make the game a bit more user friendly would go a long ways towards decreasing some of the annoyances this game has. The game also has several mini-games scattered around it. One of which is a rhythm game that really overstays its welcome, seeing you try to match up rhythm with very precise timing and no in-game cues as to when to hit the keys, it becomes very annoying and the game has two very long sequences involving it. It is VERY easy to mess these up and it doesn't feel satisfying when you've completed it. The other two mini-games that are worth mentioning is a sort of WarioWare-inspired mini-game (which I found really enjoyable and challenging in a good way) and a tubing minigame which... wouldn't be such a problem if it was easy to replay it. I feel like the NPC at the bottom should offer the chance to be teleported to the top to try it again if you're trying to go for the scores that will help you unlock secret additional content. [h1]--- Final Thoughts ---[/h1] I think Boo Party is a great way to get into the Halloween Spirit (yes I'm late, sue me) with some tasteful lewds as a reward! There's plenty of great humor, references, and easter eggs sprinkled throughout the game to give it a solid identity away from the lewds, and the lewds that are present are a pretty nice reward for finishing one of the many character quests that are present in the game. This is a really fun and lighthearted exploration game, with some fun little puzzles and item collection. The characters are really charming, and the pixel art is really well done. It really feels like a throwback to games like Maniac Mansion and the like. It also features some mini-games, which were surprisingly challenging. I'm four hours into it so far and haven't completed it yet, but I've really enjoyed my time with it so far!

Charming art style and catchy music. There are some rather irritating minigames namely the workout one, the game wouldve also benefited from a quick travel kind of thing or map of some kind. Otherwise great game. 8/10

Boo Party es un juego donde nos la pasaremos caminando y caminando por una mansión haciendo favores a chicas monstruo para que nos dejen tomarles una foto picarona, hay algunos minijuegos de por medio y pues tanto los sprites, las ilustraciones y la banda sonora son excelentes. La dificultad del juego y la variedad del juego podría ser mejor pero en general es una aventura con la que pasas un buen rato. El minijuego musical aunque fue el más me costó terminó siendo mi favorito. Estuve esperando que sacaron un parche en español del juego pero terminé jugandolo así con mi limitado conocimiento en inglés y me la pasé bien igual. Espero ver algún otro proyecto similar a este en el futuro.

Enjoyable puzzle adventure game in a style that is not as common as you would expect. The minigames are tough but honestly I loved them. Overall a pleasant time.

Another slickly made game from this developer. Unfortunate that there's currently only two of them, but I suppose quality takes time.
