I had rather detailed review all written out, but I switched tabs and ended up losing it as a result, so I will keep it simple this time around. This game is not worth your time, do not play it, do not buy it even if it's on sell for less than 50 cents. It plays and feels like a cheap cellphone game, or even an unfinished prototype. In fact I believe that the game IS unfinished, because the enemy AI is mostly non-existent, the level design is atrocious and the animation is the bare minimal, with some of the enemies having maybe 2 or 3 frames of movement. The game has a lot of bugs and is very glitchy, I ended up using glitches to my advantage just to beat the terribly unbalanced final boss fight due to the game being obviously incomplete. I literally just hid behind the final boss and spammed him with the strongest weapon until he was defeated, that's it, game over I won. The game has a whole one song that plays 90% of the time, it's a very generic rock song and it's set on an infinite loop, there may be a song that plays during the boss battles, I just can't remember and it was probably just as unmemorable as the fights themselves. The only good thing I can say about the game is that the backgrounds are pretty good, they're very detailed and really fit the overall tone of the levels. Someone obviously put a lot of work into them and it's a shame they were wasted on this game, I really hope the artist(s) moved onto a project that's more worthy of their talent. It's a shame really, becauuse this game could have been rather good, but for whatever reason it seems that the developers completely abandoned it and the publisher released it anyway. Overall: The game took me about 4 hours to complete, that includes all attempts and when it lost my save data. It is not worth your time, the fact that it's normal price is $9.99 is laughable and I feel for those poor few who purchased the game at full price on a whim. So please heed my warning, back away and spend your money on something better.
Awful, ugly, and barely playable. This may look like some old-gen tribute game, but I've seen better animation done with play-doh. And gameplay. Do. Not. Buy.
not good. not even a little. got for free. still want a refund.
Well, the controls are stiff and clunky, the animations look like 3D models baked into 2D sprites, the gameplay is rather repetative... All in all not bad for a free game from 1994, reminds me a lot of Prince of Persia and Blackthorne and- ...what's that? It wasn't made in 1994? It was made in 2010? It costs $10? Oh. Yeah- don't buy this, you'll want to return it within a couple minutes much less hours, controller support is there but barely works, and keyboard can't be rebound. And in posting this review I was told that I'd only played it for 4 minutes, and must play 5 to review, so that goes to show how quickly I ran into all these issues. In that 5th minute I discovered- Commands are issued on push and release rather than scanning for if the button is actively pressed, so whenever the tutorial wrestles the controls away from you, you gotta make sure you're not pushing anything or that button is disabled until you reset it. The camera also juts down when you dodge-roll, you can't turn while crouching since the duck button is the same as the roll button, you can get stuck in the terrain if you fall off a cliff improperly, controller support can't interact with the pop-up dialogues so this shouldn't even be marked as "controller support", and please note - again - all this was discovered in 5 minutes of play, these aren't quirky rare glitches or off-chance occurances, these are right out the gate, the best foot forward, and it tripped and fell into a pool of acid. Oh yeah, falling in the water kills you - normally that's fine but with controls this awful it becomes quite the hazard.
Wowowowow is this bad. Less than 15 FPS. This is borderline scam territory. Luckily I didn't pay for this, can't believe it's on here for $10.
The art is nice, but the framerate is terrible.. the character animation is so choppy. I also got stuck in a pit on the tutorial level, didn't feel like restarting. It reminds me of some old Amiga games. For 2.50 its an "ok" buy but thats if you have no other games on your wishlist list.
So here is the deal, don't buy this unless it is on-sale, however, with that being said its a decent game. You will not find the best of anything in this game but it is a nice old fashioned challenge and a quick finish if that's what you are looking for. Think of this game like that bad arcade shooter that sat in the corner of the local spot with only two peoples initials in the high-scores; the guy who beat it and the guy who tried. Biozone was developed buy a phone game company that was trying their hand at something new; did they succeed: no, but I am sure someone had fun making this title.
| Valor pago: R$1,69
Another cheap lazy port that can't even be bothered to give you PC optimization. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2539251707 It's things like this is why people hate Konami now, anything for a quick buck.
A bad retro-style side scroller. The AI is so bad enemies sometimes won't even turn around to attack you and you can run away and shoot them offscreen because they are stuck in place.
