I'm an older former spear fisherman. Due to injuries unable to dive anymore. This beautiful game has taken me back in time and has given me hours of fun and relaxation,
W for Bancho. Mf carried the entire restaurant with pure aura and cooking skills.
I was making a normal review but then I thought "hey, this game is weird and loves to mix so many different things, let's make a weird review too." And so I will tell you the story of a cheerful overweight guy and the majestic aquatic adventures he reluctantly accepts to help his friends, in a colorful, bombastic and hyper diversified lagoon, where he happens to fish, help in a sushi restaurant, hunt, kill, being a spy, risking his neck every day.. it's the high price of coziness: this game was so cozy they decided to add some excruciatingly annoying bosses: squids, lobsters, jellyfishes, sharks.. you name it. They're gigantic, and you have to kill them to continue. Dave's world proves having lots of different souls, but I wasn't expecting having such a dark one :) There are guest stars both from the real world and videogames, and that adds to the overall vibe. You can dive seriously deep without risking an embolism, but in the depths real monsters lurk.. and something nicer (and inexplicably very Chinese) too. In any case, the day-night loop is satisfying and you don't get bored, I understand where all these positives reviews come from. Dave might be.. soft, but his world is like a vibrating painting full of everything, and the way the game is self-aware and gently ironic makes it a must play. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3746154183
I dread when day yields to night. i become a different person. a terrified employee who lives to serve master dave. i have never worked harder for a fictional man in my life. im sorry for every unhappy customer, dave. nobody can hate me more than i do myself. pls dont fire me. 10/10 game play
Where have you been all my life? I do not have words to describe this feeling. This might just be the coolest game I have ever played outside of an mmo. They thought of everything exciting to throw at you through every turning corner of your progressive journey. Escape from Ever After had taken my number one spot until I played Dave the Diver. If it was not for watching Cohh Carnage I do not think I'd have even gave this game a chance. It took about 45 minutes to get in to the rhythm for me to really start enjoying the gameplay. 10/10 for me.
one minute I’m catching tuna, the next I’m stressing over sushi customers like Gordon Ramsay is about to fire me. somehow, it’s weird, addictive, and I can’t stop helping dave achieve his goals!
One might assume that the capitol made off collaborations and crossovers from Dave the Diver would be able to cover the costs of human labor for a very nuanced part of media adaption. It is highly disappointing that the billion-won company cannot come to hire local translators and would resort to using AI translators. If I could refund the game, I would.
Dave the diver entered the list of ALL TIME FAVOURITES very quickly. It is one of the most charming, witty, relaxing games I have even played. It has a huge variety of quests, medium grind to finish the quest, relatively easy bosses to kill and most of all it is fun to play. The achievements were not that hard to complete which is something I really appreciate and the game is not huge to finish for people like me that have less time to enjoy gaming due to heavy schedule. You play as a cute diver who helps his friends, catches fish during the day and runs a sushi restaurant at night. The variety of quests keeps your interest and never gets boring. The DLCs were fun too! I totally recommend it.
Fantastic game. Great way to relax. Pretty much nothing is missable, but don't rush the story
