I picked up BSA on an impulse, and I wasn't expecting to love it so much. Easily one of my top games of the year. It's fun, it's charming, it plays well, and almost all the characters in both the main cast and the larger ensemble cast are extremely likable. Many games claim to want to do the Saturday Morning Cartoon thing, but few actually capture the authentic feeling of that type of media - making it feel like there were showrunners demanding each episode have certain themes, or demanding that there be enough episodes of side-fluff to pad out the runtime (and because these "filler episodes" are actually well written, it never feels like a drag.) I feel the ending came kind of out nowhere, and I felt the plot shifted which antagonist we were focused on in the back 3 or 4 hours, but I think it more or less stuck the landing, especially if they're planning a sequel. The gameplay was mostly fun and satisfying, though may leave something to be desired for the really, really seasoned tcg player. If you like those kind of games but don't mind them being a little on the easier side, I'd recommend starting from Hard difficulty, though if you just want the story, I think the other difficulties would treat you fine.
All I can say is WOW. Just WOW! This game is incredible.
I am begging the devs to make a sequel or at least DLC expansion to this game. TL;DR - For $25, you get your money's worth and more. If you're down for a good story, likable characters from all across multiple spectrums, and light deckbuilding fights, I highly recommend this game. There are many options to determine your playthrough and your crews' "endings" if you will. Edit: I'm on my third playthrough, 100%-ed and I found that the choices you make end up with very different cutscenes and outcomes along with multiple differences in dialogue. Sure it's borderline a visual novel game, but the characters end up seeing things differently because of your choices and that's honestly very neat because of how they have character dynamics setup in this game. I've also found that any plot-holes from my first two playthroughs were answered in this third one so that's neat.
The Pro's
This game does a LOT of things right:

General Story - You go from two best friends to leading a ragtag crew to save the galaxy from hostile alien forces. Despite that, there are numerous interactions that make the mission feel meaningful as they often address this every few stages. Everyone is aware that there's more to life than constant combat and some of them even find purpose outside of the mission.
Art - The 2D portrait art is just amazing and the overall art direction is great. The expressions are drawn well enough to convey how everyone feels during their interactions. The little bits of animation are also just enough for each scene. I do think the sketches of some scenes should have been completed pieces instead, but it was negligible enough in the long run.
Build customization - There are so many mods you can craft/obtain to tailor to or adjust your playstyle. You want fast hitting turns? It's there. You want to snowball? It's there. You want the ability to do splash damage? It's all there. Nearly everything you would want to customize is available.
Character cast/voice acting - Like the mods, you have an equally large number of characters to recruit and each with their own unique kit. There are many types of decks you can build with who you choose to onboard. On top of that, everyone sounds amazing with their voice acting because each of their personalities really shine through.
Gameplay - Now, the combat isn't very hard, but it also doesn't need to be. This is a narrative driven game with characters to relate to. The combat is just challenging enough for you to experiment, figure out what you like to do and who you like to use. If you are wanting for difficult combat, this might not be the game for you.

The Con's
Factors that I felt were lacking or issues present as I played throughout the game:

Story pacing - The start of the story was done well, but as you play into the second chapter of the game (right before you leave the first planet system), I noticed that everything felt a bit rushed. It became more obvious after they introduce one of the major character's romance progression because there weren't enough cutscenes or interactions to help build a steady pacing. The ending was also way too simple for how rushed the story got and I'm not sure why unless the devs were planning to make a sequel.
Deck customization - I dislike that you are forced to have at least 10 of each type of card. As players, I feel like we should be able to choose to have less pilots or less drones, but I couldn't find a way to do so. If there was a way, then the UI was just not showing me it.
UI/Manual Save Capability - With the UI mentioned, I also want to bring it up as another factor. The Hangar UI really sucks. Just let us have the permanent list menu instead of the brief card showcase. The constant flip-flop was annoying. Also, with this game being almost a visual novel, there should be options to have save files.
Loose Ends - There are moments where you go "what happened to so-and-so" and are either plot-holes or unanswered character conflicts. SPOILERS: For one,
Kadi from the Skiads just appeared here and there then disappeared off the story lore. She ultimately served no real purpose in the mission for the main cast. None of her interactions ever amounted to anything nor did they assist with the main cast's character progression. I feel like she should have found a relic suit of her own and stood as another obstacle to the Patchworks crew than just Byron.

Personal Remarks
Things I feel should have been included or adjusted:

Character development for SOME characters - As I played through the game, I noticed that we barely get to hear about some of the cast at all.
Belmont was introduced as an old-timey friendly grandpa chef personality and never got explored further than that. Maybe there were some interactions I missed with the Hunters guild, but he often felt like he was just a filler character. Hanako ended up being gradually introduced as a nice, clever girl with lots of ex's and...nothing else. Daciana has so much to tell and we effectively only see one thing from her lore. Yan and Jaeger have their own circumstances but they are shoved aside and never fully addressed.
Sure the story writers added some select cutscenes for each character but they were nothing compared to how fast the game was progressing.
Module system - I found roughly 2/3 of the way through the game that I had more resources than there were mods to craft. I think there should have been a mod upgrade system to spend the extra resources to increase the effects of the mods.
Side content - Why couldn't we participate in starball outside of like...two cutscenes? There were other things introduced too that I felt could have been added. Like, as I played through the bounty missions, I felt like we could have had hunter points or something to exchange for more things or unlock interactions.
Glossary - Frankly this is because some words just aren't explained. I had to reread some sentences because it wasn't clear, specifically whenever they mention time passing. What eventually ended up making sense was: rotation = 1 day (if you think about a planet rotating that's one day), cycle = 1 week (wasn't sure about this one til near the end of the game), orbit = 1 year.

Conclusion
Honestly, just a damn good game. If you like narrative driven games, deckbuilder-lites, fun characters, or any combination of what I just mentioned, highly recommend giving this game a shot.
There's something so cool about a full campaign card game, there's not enough of these! This one is combined with a visual novel and it works well. It's fully voice acted and the writing is thoughtful and optimistic. Definitely not ground-breaking but serviceable. Cast is diverse with lots of queer representation. The card game is fun and the progression system is simple but effective. Each character has a unique requirement to fulfill which unlocks a trinket slot. For me, I think the ratio of card game to visual novel could be higher. I wanted more meaty gameplay.

Really fun gameplay. I was also invested in the world and character stories too. Would reccommend!
This was exactly as promised, a spellbinding card battler/VN combining tropes across the sci-fi genre. While a little awkward and fast-paced at the beginning, the narrative hit a stride that pulled me in so deep I immediately sank the 40 hours it took for me to beat this. While somewhat luck-based, the combat system was unique and rewarding. There were enough in combat lines and downtime scenes between characters to build a believable world around them. My one complaint is that the cast may be too wide to connect with, though it also left me curious and wanting more. There is so much established, and not all of it fully addressed. I wonder if a sequel was planned? Spinoff Suitsmith tower defense when? RTS Hunter RPG when? I'm obsessed.
