Furry himbos. That's all.
It's got HOT FURRY MEN. The card game is okay, I'm not the biggest fan of card games in general but it's fine. The visual novel story part is worth it alone, especially on sale. And the art is really, really good too. I'm frankly okay paying for this to see the art, it's beautiful and really nice. And the furry men are hot too, did I mention that?
Hot guys and that's what I came for.
Hello! My name is Connor. As an unapologetic fan of Studio Klondike and their work, I am loving this game so far! I love the character development, worldbuilding, and a sense of reality within fiction. The game tackles real-world issues that we face while still mixing the loveable furry fantasy at the same time. P.S. I ship Vitus and Volesus so much! Even though I haven't seen anything official yet, they have such great chemistry. Especially as childhood friends.
Now that chapter 2 has finished, I can say that this my comfort late night decompression reading/game. The music puts me right into that mindset (it's that good!) and my current personal favourite is, currently unreleased, the trial theme in chapter 2, it's just so cozy! Visually, those artists ate! The backgrounds and character sprites are immaculate (seriously those background artists deserve more credit the closer I look) and do quench the thirsty. The game has continued to improve since the Early Access' first release 4 years ago and I enjoy the story enough to look forward for the next update. For what it's worth, it's worth getting in its current state! Although I do recommend it, it does have some design flaws: - An account is required to play the game, even if you just wanted to play the story and not interact with the multiplayer side of things (which you'll get better luck arranging a session on the Discord). I should not need to give unnecessary information if I just want to play the story. - You don't get enough mementos (coins) to view all interlude scenes (more of a minor inconvenience since the game has replayability and QoL features for a second run to see the results of other choices you could've made, which do impact some parts of the story).
Very underrated good game
I am THIS close on giving the game a negative review because the RNG in this game can be so obnoxious at times to the point where it's EXTREMELY infuriating. Imagine losing the trial because the game decides to throw a color that you don't have 3 times in a row when you have 3-4-5 cards, and the opponent always have the colors even though they only have 1 card every turn. 2x disparage won't help when the game decides to troll you for the rest of the game. On the other hand, the storytelling in this game is on another level with seriousness and jokes balancing out each other, each being delivered at correct timings. Not to mention the beautifully composed OSTs that this game have, enriching the overall experience on the story mode. I really hope the newly-planned gameplay mode is not purely based on RNG like how takeover and conquest trial are. Can't wait for chapter 2 too.
