👍 Recommended Despite a somewhat rough start, Assassin's Creed Valhalla ended up becoming one of the most enjoyable Assassin's Creed games I've played. Coming from Odyssey, the gameplay initially felt confusing and took some getting used to. The combat, progression systems, and overall pacing didn't immediately click with me, and I was close to putting the game down. Thankfully, I decided to give it a proper chance and I don't regret it one bit. Once the story picked up, I was completely hooked. Even found myself spending countless hours exploring the world, completing side quests, and getting lost in the various adventures scattered across the map. For me, that's always the sign of a well-made game: when I want to keep playing even when I'm not progressing the main story. My biggest annoyance was, unsurprisingly, the Ubisoft launcher. There were times when the game wouldn't launch at all, and on a few occasions it even crashed mid-session. It's frustrating that ubisoft always does this to ruin the experience from their games. Another minor disappointment was the marketing surrounding the game's setting. Before release, I was under the impression that Norway would play a much larger role in the game. Without spoiling anything, that's not really the case. As someone who was excited about exploring a Viking adventure primarily set in Norway, that was misleading. Still, that disappointment was more than compensated for by the engaging story and the sheer amount of fun content the game has to offer. Overall I had a great time with Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and I'm glad I stuck with it past the slow start.

Good Viking Game Bad Assassin's Creed game
The only way you can have fun in this game is with mods to remove or fix all the terrible parts of it. This game is seriously dissapointing. It's just not an Assassin's Creed game - they should've at least called it "Valhalla: An Assassin's Creed Story" because then at least fans wouldn't absolutely hate it. There is absolutely no stealth in this game, it's practically non-existant. You can maybe assassinate one or two enemies before the rest you need to go out into the open to kill. And this would be fine if the combat wasn't so repetitive and boring. Like, sure, the combat looks cool and I love the takedowns, but it's the same thing no matter who you encounter. And the inconsistency in difficulty is another thing, some quests you play have so much combat and are so easy, others you're getting smashed by enemies from all angles, and others there'll be this one enemy that's just crazy strong for some reason. Let alone the Zealot fights, these enemies are flat out broken - their attacks are impossible to evade or block, they just heal themselves all the time, you'll stun them and just suddenly they'll critical strike out of nowhere. I have to turn on infinite rations and stamina mods to defeat them. Oh, and lets talk about the stamina and health changes: they're terrible! Whoever decided that an Assassin's Creed game needs stamina and manual health regeneration should be fired on the spot, it's awful. This whole game just feels like a clusterf*ck of a mess from Ubisoft, it's all over the place, yes it has some good aspects like the graphics and atmosphere but everything else just feels incomplete, boring, inconsistent, or all of the above. Don't buy this game unless it's on sale.
Positives: +Massive beautiful world +Good graphics +Great audio +Lots of content +Great immersion (loved Eivor's poetic and witty dialogues) Negatives: -A lot of content is filler and playing becomes boring pretty quickly -The story, especially modern day, is all over the place, some arcs and quests are completely pointless -Some dialogues are stupid and worse than in Oblivion -Very frequent crashes for whatever reason (had more than a dozen in 50 hours) -Basically no incentive to just run around the map and explore, all that matters are crafting materials, other quests just give a bit of XP -Whoever made almost every damned loot chest locked under a mini logic puzzle "find out how to find the entrance/ find the key/explosive jar/ get inside the room with the chest" deserves to spend an eternity in Helheim Overall: Not great, not terrible, hanging on the the edge of Not Recommended. Definitely not worth 60 EUR/USD. If you can buy it for around 10 EUR/USD, I'd say go for it if you have nothing better to do and like Assassin's Creed and RPG's
Buen juego.
