As someone who 100%'d Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I thought I knew what I was signing up for. I was wrong. 148 hours later, I finally got every achievement... and I deserve compensation. Yes, achievement hunting is supposed to be grindy. I get it. But compared to Origins and Odyssey, this is on an entirely different level. The grind isn't rewarding—it's just painfully boring. Calling this an Assassin's Creed game feels generous. There's barely any Assassin fantasy here. It's just an RPG... and not even a good one. It honestly feels like an intern was handed the design document and told, "Just copy and paste it eight times." The gameplay loop goes like this: Help rebels. Conquer territory. Repeat. Help rebels. Conquer territory. Repeat. Help rebels. Conquer territory. Repeat. Now imagine doing that across eight gigantic maps. Peak game design. The game is ridiculously bloated, and the Dawn of Ragnarök DLC somehow makes it even worse. More hours don't automatically mean more fun. If you're only here for the story or Viking fantasy, you might still find something to enjoy. But if you're an achievement hunter aiming for 100%... Think about it. Then think again. Then think another 16 times. Because no achievement is worth this much copy-paste content. 148 hours. 100% achievements. 0 desire to ever install this game again. Not Recommended.
I think it's pretty good game. Vast and beautiful af. Just be ready to spend hundreds of hours if you want to beat it. Definetly need to revisit later, but for now i need to check out other games.
I finished the game today. First of all, I really liked the story. The game's main story revolves around the Raven clan, a small clan. It features Dutch Vanderlinde, who believes too much in fate—oops, sorry, wrong name. I mean Sigurd—and Arthur Morgan, who blindly trusts him no matter what, but who begins to question his orders throughout the story. Oh sorry, I mean Eivor who blindly trusts him no matter what, but who begins to question his orders throughout the story. Joke aside, I REALLY LOVED THIS GAME :D. Alright, here are some pros and cons: Pros: + The graphics are incredible! + The music is so good! + It was a great decision to keep side quests short and distinct from one another. + The main story is generally engaging. Cons: - Even though it’s been out for six years, the game is absolutely riddled with bugs! Some are minor, others major. And yes, they really screw up the experience. - Certain characters (Sigurd, Randvi, Dag, etc.) aren't properly fleshed out; their story arcs feel weak and poorly executed. - While the main story is generally good, the game drags it out far too long, which unfortunately causes interest to wane. - The game relies heavily on repetitive patterns. NOTE: It’s a blast to play as a Viking (that’s how I played the whole time, with very little stealth). If you’re looking for a traditional *Assassin’s Creed* experience, this is a downside; if you want a Viking game, it’s a plus. Since it was a plus for me, the pros outweigh the cons. I LIKED THIS GAME, but the bugs are atrocious :D

I've been playing this game on the PS4 for years, roughly since the end of 2022/beginning of 2023. As someone who is not only a nerd regarding old Norse mythology but (obviously) also vikings, this game has been nothing but a sweet treat. And despite its rough edges gameplay and history wise - I am enjoying it a lot. Having spent roughly 300 hours in total (both platforms combined), I dare say I can give an honest review. Now, gameplay wise I'd say it is not what you would expect from an AC game, despite the combat being versatile with all the different weapons, combinations and skills. Parkour wise...it's lacking simply because of how the environment is built. Most of the time you will be on the back of your horse but you do climb around in small villages, bigger cities, Roman sights and caves. It is not a crowded game like, for example, AC Unitiy. Yet that makes up with stunning visuals and having your own dreki (longship). When it comes to the writing, it's mid. Gotta admit that. It has strong moments but compared to previous AC games, like Black Flag, it's just trailing behind. What I have to note is that the map is quite big and throughout the story even extends into other places. It's not perfect, by any means. I would rate it as its own game, and not an Assassins Creed game because it has barely anything to do with the original storyline. Let's be real. But it is not its own game and instead a part of said Ubisoft franchise, so: Is it worth playing as a ''die hard'' Assassins Creed fan? Probably not. Is it a really entertaining Viking game? Absolutely. Get it on a discount if you are unsure. On the side: If you are someone who gets offended just by looking at the in game shop, that's on you. Yes it is not nice because Ubisoft basically shoves it into your face in the menu screen, but it is not mandatory to buy anything from it. In fact, you get a free item every week, so that is a small positive thing. It obviously doesn't excuse the micro transactions.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Review
Valhalla hooked me almost instantly. I had been putting it off because of its massive size, but once I jumped in – it absolutely proved worth it. This game truly feels like a Viking saga. The campaign is one of the longest in the series, set in a huge and immersive world. The landscapes are stunning – from the rugged beauty of Norway to the snowy, atmospheric regions of England. Exploration feels rewarding, and the overall vibe is just incredible. Eivor stands out as one of the most charismatic protagonists in the series, carrying the story with strong presence. The soundtrack and sound design are top-tier – I even added the OST to my Spotify.
Downsides
Facial animations can feel a bit rough at times, breaking immersion in dialogues.
Final
A big, cinematic, and atmospheric experience that fully embraces its Viking theme. If you’re ready for a long journey – it’s absolutely worth it.
