About
Ancient Cities is a realistic, survival city builder in an immersive procedural environment. Lead the fate of your tribe through ancient times!

You will have to guide your people through generations, discovering and improving technologies, managing resources and population, building your city organically and facing other tribes in a fully simulated world and ecosystem.
Take your time to build your ancient city, step into our ancestors footsteps and get immersed in the ancient times.

In Ancient Cities you can play at any time and place of the European Stone Age. From the warm Mediterranean to cold Scandinavia and from the end of the Ice Age to the end of the Neolithic.
In each time and place you will have historically accurate forests, animals, buildings, tools, resources and knowledge of each culture that you will have to manage to survive in the harsh ancient times.

Ancient Cities reduces micromanagement through intelligent automation. Organise and build while your citizens perform the tasks that best suit their specific skills and knowledge.
In the regional game layer, you will be able to trade or attack neighbouring tribes or perhaps decide to migrate elsewhere if resources become scarce.

This is only the beginning, Ancient Cities has been designed as an ever-improving platform that supports the continuous introduction of new compatible content to explore new cultures and places throughout history.
Stay tuned for new improvements and contents!

Nice game...
I bought this game in the beginning, and then it was full of bugs and lacked content, but now on 19/07/2026 I actually start to enjoy the game, the only missing thing is good modding support so more content would be possible, but the game starts to be fun!
Už dlouho nebyl žádný update i když hra není hotová. Vývojáří na to pěkně kašlou :(
Honestly, I don't really know what to say. Over the past week, I've been playing Ancient Cities, and I've had a few disappointments. In particular, I didn't expect to run into the kinds of issues I'll be discussing throughout this review. My first impression was very positive. The game is visually stunning, with beautiful landscapes, lush vegetation, trees, wildlife, and inhabitants that are faithfully recreated. The migration concept is brilliant, the grid-based building system is excellent, and the pathfinding mechanics seem well designed. Now, from this point on, I'd like to talk about the game's downsides. The first thing I noticed was the resource storage system. Honestly, it's really frustrating. Why do I have to assign a separate storage area for every single type of resource? Why not have a shared storage space where resources can be kept together? The same issue applies to food. Why is it impossible to store pears, cherries, and other fruits in the same place? Players should have the option to decide whether they want dedicated storage for each type of food and resource or a shared one. Following the same line of thought, baskets and other hand-crafted items shouldn't be classified as "buildings." Instead, the game should make better use of artisans. Rather than only producing ropes and wooden sticks, they should also be able to craft baskets, clay pots, hats, ponchos, and other everyday items. Another issue is the AI. For certain tasks, it feels almost non-existent. Sometimes you just sit there waiting for something to happen, and nothing does. When you're attacked by wild animals, why doesn't the nearest villager blow a whistle or do something to stop the attack? Everyone simply stands by, even when they're right next to the animal. It's also incredibly frustrating to watch rats devour your food while nobody reacts. At times, it feels like I have to manually crank a handle just to get the game working. Some mechanics should be far more intuitive and logical. For example, why can't villagers store food inside their tents? Why don't they immediately scare away wild animals that approach the camp? Why don't they cover food and resources with animal hides to protect them from the weather? These are small details that would make the game feel much more believable and immersive. Despite only having a few hours in the game, I still want to keep playing Ancient Cities because I genuinely believe it has a lot of potential. I hope the developers take the time to read this review, not as harsh criticism, but as constructive feedback from someone who wants to see the game succeed. The foundations are already there—it would be a real shame to see such a promising project fall short of its potential. Please consider adding more buildings. Nothing extraordinary—just simple additions such as new crafting workshops, basic covered storage structures, and decorative objects, as long as they also serve a practical purpose. These kinds of additions would make settlements feel more alive while also improving gameplay.
Excellent game. Love the realism and vibe.
