Better than Anno! I congratulate the makers of this game. They made vast improvements to the Anno model. They set out to improve the Anno games, and they did! I like how certain buildings, monuments, and ammenities add capacity to the houses, allowing them to house more people, which saves us from having to open new areas for housing. They also added irrigation to farms as well as adding water wheels to production buildings. Very nice. I also like how we can improve buildings, like adding more workers, reducing costs, using compost on farms, raising oxen to boost farm production, allowing production buildings to use coal to boost production, and more. There really is a lot we can do in this game. The tech tree is also very nice. And so is the religion aspect, where we can use religion points to add buffs and other extras. Another very nice improvement over Anno is the production quantities. In Anno, a building always produces the same amount per minute. But in CE, the amount a building produces every minute depends on a number of factors, like the season, soil fertility, the number of workers working there, any improvements you made to the building, water wheels, any oxen working there, compost being used, and buffs like prayers, blessings, and miracles which you can acquire from the gods. So production isn't a fixed formula, but is variable based on how you play it. It lets you decide how productive you want your buildings to be according to your needs. And you can adjust the productivity at any time simply by changing the number of people working there, or by turning a building off until you need it again. If you want to know what this game is like, just think of Anno with a lot of extra layers on top. There is more for us to do in this game. Very well done, team! Keep up the great work!

This is much more than just a game, this is reminiscent of what made games into complex artforms not seen since 1990-2010. It is an amazing showcase of the culture of China. I hit the cutoff on the tech tree, which is the extent of the demo, and it left me wanting much much more! A system of crime and punishment like in Stronghold 2 would be a nice addition if not already in the tech tree. I will attempt to forget about this beautiful titles existence and hope that upon my remembrance, it is fully released. Its basically Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, but modernized and not in the bad ways. In fact it improves on many of the clunks from E:RotMK and similar. Also, I find it odd that any game that has to do with western culture has multiple genders and effeminate men/girlbosses running things, yet media that depicts China usually lacks those. The noticing will continue.
Awesome game... I mean demo xD (so much gameplay in demo LOVE IT). I'm very excited for the full release, so many mechanics to explore and the immersive 1st person is really cool too. Beautiful details in everything from petting pandas to watching people work and interacting in the city. Personally I would love to see more hazards affecting your city like rivers flooding, earthquakes, tornados (if there's tornados in china... not sure cx) Oh yea and I would also love it if there was like a criminal system or maybe a system to keep your city safe from raiders. Just wishful thinking though cx
I Think some Early Access games have potential, but I've stopped buying them becouse too many remain unfinished for years.Manor Lords, for example, released on 26 April 2024,is still in Early Access two years later and only receives updates every six months or so.Another title, New Cycle Released on 19 January 2024 , is in the same situation-still unfinished after two years with no clear timeline for completion. At this point , it's hard to know whether these games will ever actually be finished. In the meantime, it feels like developers continue to collect money for products that aren't complete, leaving players waiting indefinitely with no real guarantees.
Bravi!
