Hikayesi ile sizi kendine çekmeyi başarabiliyor. Hafıza kaybı ile başladığınız spooky bir malikanede neler yaşandığını, kim olduğunuzu, bu karanlık işlerde ne kadar parmağınızın olduğunu yavaş yavaş çözmeye çalıştığınız bir teması var. Belki daha önce sinemada, tiyatroda çok fazla işlenmiş olmasına rağmen bunun bir oyun içinde görülen en popüler ilk örneklerindendir. Hikaye bu zamana kadar hala ilgi çekici gelebilmesine rağmen oyunun kendisinin zamanın durmak bilmez çarklarına dayanamayıp oldukça eskidiğini düşünüyorum. Puzzle'lar, karakterler, atmosfer, düşmanlar, mekanikler oldukça eski hissettiriyor. Eğer bu oyunu oynamayı düşünüyorsanız, oyunun kendisinden ve DLC'den bile çok daha iyi olan moduna bakmayı unutmayın: White Night. Bu mod oyunu komple değiştiriyor ve her şeyiyle yepyeni bir deneyim sunuyor. Bugüne kadar oynadığım pek çok oyundan bile daha iyidir. Silent Hill'in Team Silent'ten sonra çıkan oyunlarından daha çok Silent Hill olabilmeyi başarmış bir mod. Psikolojik korku öğeleriyle orijinalde hiç korkmadığım kadar korkutmayı başarıyor; puzzle'ları, atmosferi ile de kesinlikle oynamayı hakediyor. Sanırım Amnesia: The Dark Descent oyunun bize kazandırdığı en iyi şey bu White Night modudur.
