Far better than Phasmophobia, it encourages you with more complex mechanics and is far scarier. The support from the Devs is still present and so far, I really enjoy it. Can clearly recommend as a bonus, you can have a cat and a dog in your hideout
Take this with a grain of salt because I've only played this game for 2 hours but, this game just doesn't seem at all complete. It has ai assets eveywhere - some of the steam library images are ai, almost all paintings in the first map are ai, so many things are misspelt, including "oceania" as "ocenia". So many of the scares are scripted and after the second time are entirely predictable. It completely lacks a tutorial and if me and my friends didn't play phasmophobia before this game we would've been at a total loss on what to do. As far as I'm aware its not in early access so it's just a poorly made game, it is so bad that it's kinda funny though. O dawg out.
My sister and I got this game to play together because we love playing Phas and we could not get into it. Half of the time we didn't know if our equipment was even working, or doing what it was supposed to be doing. The graphics were pretty good, but overall I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I rarely give a thumbs down for games but this one I can't picture myself playing again, and I don't think I can recommend it. 3/10 for me and only for the creepy jump scares and graphics.
Bought this on sale to play with a friend and it's been a blast thus far! Took us some Googling to know and understand how our tools worked/how to play but we both have never or barely played titles like this (specifically Phasmophobia). I've never really seen the appeal with Phasmophobia (which I own and have invested 3 hours in to) but with Demonologist, I'm seeing the appeal for this genre. Scripted jumpscares, tense ambience, limited visibility and voice activation to name a few are all features that make this game playing with a friend (or friends!) a great experience. I've laughed so much for only having played this game a few days. I highly recommend communicating in-game through voice activation instead of using Discord. I can't count the amount of interactions that were genuinely made incredibly funny/ier through it.
Game is so laggy, things never load properly, I have to close it multiple times before it actually becomes good enough to play, and even then things never load. I tried uninstalling it and redownloading it, and nothing changed. It's like it's full of bugs and they never get fixed so I just have to cope and play with it with those crappy settings.
alot of great jump scares and realistic maps
At first this game did not have me but recently i been loving it with new updates but maps you may have seen in other indie horror game but it knows how to scare so good game to check out
my god was this a total piece of ♥♥♥♥. Don't get me wrong the IDEA is great and if done well could be a sweet game but it has the exact same issue as phas where the game itself isnt really scary except this game doesn't have the randomness that phas does.
great game now getting updates getting better
actually gets good updates unlike another game in the same genre...
