The game started off genuinely scary and intense, and I thought it had an incredible amount of promise. The atmosphere, mystery, and exploration had me completely invested, and halfway through, the curiosity I felt was some of the best I've experienced in a game in years. Unfortunately, toward the end, that sense of mystery largely disappeared. The story felt rushed, major developments happened too quickly, and some of the reveals felt predictable and cliché compared to the buildup. Instead of feeling like the mysteries were properly paying off, it felt like everything was being wrapped up as quickly as possible, and I found myself dragging myself through the ending just to finish it. I don't want this to discourage the creator, because I genuinely believe there's something special here. This was the first game in nearly a decade that I was genuinely excited about, which is why it's so disappointing to see that excitement turn into such a letdown. The first half showed incredible potential, and I really hope the creator continues building on the atmosphere, lore, and mystery, because with more time spent developing those elements and properly paying them off, this could have been something truly special.

this game is absolute CINEMA. scary and fun
THE WELL IS NOT EMPTY is a game of contrasts. First and foremost it is a HORRIFYING game - but it has a spice of WHIMSY, and it does a good job fusing those two elements together in a way (I believe) few horror games do. It will, simply put, drop you down a well; you will only have a SPOON and your WITS as you explore, and the exploration aspect is certainly worth it. There is no combat, you will have to be patient and have an IRON WILL to delve deeper and uncover the mysteries of the WELL, I certainly did not see everything in my first two playthroughs, but I expect there is more to uncover. It will leave you wanting more and I like that... Fantastic game - go DOWN THE WELL and SEE FOR YOURSELF!
It was well made for the most part, but I suppose I was hoping for more? The ending felt painfully generic, and rushed, for a game that was so promising in the beginning, and I though would be much more imaginative. I do want to encourage the creator to make more horror games, as the first half of the game, where the mystery, scare factor and atmosphere is done the best, shows real potential! Nothing else in the game comes close to the beginning in quality. You could play the demo and experience the absolute best this game has to offer, which is a real shame! This could benefit greatly from a slightly extended runtime as a lot of mechanics are under developed.
Very good little horror game! Definitely shows the scope of possibility for making scary visuals with low poly graphics. The sound design was also incredibly unsettling, and the ending was a very lovely bit of existential dread too. Games like this are frankly the reason Indie devs rule the horror genre.
Genuinely tense and adrenaline fuelled. If a high paced action-horror is what you are looking for, this will do the trick. I think this is a pretty unique breath of fresh air in a genre now full of slow-paced, story driven psychological horror - which I equally love but this experience is rarer now. This game honestly feels like the developers were just having fun making it which you can definitely feel, the game and story itself doesn't take itself too seriously, just trying to scare the player any chance it gets. The chase sequences felt like I was playing prime 'Outlast' again with the graphics of a game like 'No One Lives Under The Lighthouse, and the added need to switch items in inventory while in the chases to open doors and dig tunnels was frantic and chaotic as I was bracing to be caught by the monster any second. A game to get your heart racing for sure. The games' use of hide and seek portions adds more tension to balance the adrenaline but I think it's the most derivative part. The chases are the main selling point as this game excels at doing them in a fresh way. Some critiques include - game is pretty short but to be fair, the scares had worn off by the end due to the nature of fast-paced horrors like this. I thought the later monster designs sometimes verged too much on the vague side like I couldn't even tell what I was looking at. Overall, I'd say this game is worth it despite the length and is far more memorable than most in the genre.
チェイスとステルスがほどよくあるホラーADV! ビジュアルや演出が良くて面白かった! 一部の難易度が高いのだけしんどかったけど、それ以外は楽しい!
IM OUT OF WORDS.BEST HORROR GAME IVE EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE
I really appreciated how freaky and imaginative the game is. The chase scenes were pretty intense, and the environment was well crafted and creepy.
