Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 14 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The core game is really fun and is an easy recommend! However, what they did with the campaign A.I. is pretty atrocious! Giving you these lush places to explore but no time to actually do so or else you'll be getting slowly bled dry by turn 100! So instead, you have to focus entirely on being constantly and unyielding in your aggressive lest you become victim to an endless stream of Tier 4 units as the computer just pumps them out like candy after a time on anything but the easiet setting! I like a challenge, but a slow bleed after hours of gameplay because you didn't do things exactly like the devs wanted you to is frustrating and not really very much fun! The other modes where the computer doesn't start out with half the map and double your resources where you sometimes don't even start with a city are much more fun and representative of what this game is supposed to be. If you decide to get it, stick to those so you actually have fun. And don't bother with the campaign unless and until your ready for the annoyingly unfair challenge of it!

I'm on Linux (Mint) and while I had played this at some point, for a fair while, I no longer can. I get the Triumph launching window, click "guest" account, and then ... the window goes away and nothing happens. It was sort of like Heroes of Might & Magic, but a bit tedious. I guess I'll uninstall, but I'm really annoyed when something that was working doesn't anymore. I bought the game, and they took it away from me. *Edit -- By changing the compatibility setting for the game to Proton Hotfix, I was able to get it running again. I still think I wouldn't really recommend the game -- it's not bad -- it has a decent campaign, but it's a bit bland and long.
Core gameplay is decently fun to play and explore, but if you play campaign and have noticed something in your life - you ll be unpleasantly "surprised". In base game campaigns you can either play Commonwealth or Elven court, which are both commie/marxist superpowers that blame each other for not being inclusive and tolerant enough for some races. In the end you got 3 options - win for any of these stupid sides or create true commie superstate that includes both sides. The latter option is the good ending by the way. Apart from that you will help to establish a state on the promised land, that is already populated by others, for a race (draconians), that was created solely to enslave other races (all the words in that sentence are literally in the game). You will also encounter such things as prasing the betrayal and fighting against your people/race/country for the sake of commie ideas; or some feminist garbage like marriage is bad, being "strong" and accomplished (as a man) woman is good. In add-on campaign for frostling race (fully matriarchal society) you have 3 options - be a simp for a necromancer queen, be a simp for your race queen or side with some nutcase that seeks power/magical knoledge for the sake of power. You will also see hints of interracial "relations" in that campaign between frostling princess and tigran, who are basically a human and a cat humanoid accordingly. And again, i don't say you should not play this game. Scenarios and random scenarios are enough entertaining and campaigns are good for learning the basics. Game itself cost like nothing with discounts or given for free sometimes, whilst being of better quality than subsequent games of that title. Just be warned about everything else above.
Pretty good Age of Wonders III 8/10 Heisen
I tried AoW4 on a free weekend and I found out it is a woke consolized slop, this game instead is the last good Age of Wonders, and boy it is good, it is much deeper, old school difficult and with many mods, a very very good 100% PC game with UI made for PC. If you are a newbie of this genre you will experience some friction here, because combat is brutal and mobs hit you like bricks (and this is the great part), that's why this game has less players, it is not for casual audience like AoW4... but in AoW4 you will find more defined cartoony graphics and rainbows everywhere, because that is the only bait of shallow games.
When Civ 5 and Tactical Military Combat meets with High Fantasy. Dungeon exploration, magical loot protected by an Avatar of death. The variety and the depth of the various factions leads to very interesting builds. There are community balances if you want to play multiplayer. The play by email was pretty good as well. Solo experience is very solid, even as you go higher levels. I spent a great amount of time on this game and joined the multiplayer community. There was moments when the whole group would just watch people battle it out with their full army stacks. You can make it as epic as you wish it to be. Enjoy it! Go check out Age of Wonders 4, is even more innovative. Just remember this, Age of Wonders 3 is the GOAT.
1. launch game 2. wait for your friends 3. realise your friends dont like this game anymore 4. contemplate your loneliness 5. decide whether to play alone 6. close game 7. go cry in a corner
I'm so impressed with this game. Usually when I play a new strategy game I really enjoy it for the first 50 hours. But with this one I actually got so bored I actually regret spending 14 hours in the game. So congrats!
A fantastic part of the AoW franchise. The Vanilla experience holds up to this day, and the mods on the steam workshop add hundreds of hours of replayability.
Great game with great DLCs. If compare to AOW 2, this game has different approach. All races have the same class troops. but each race has unique bonuse, as each class. AI can create new cities from Caravan, what was impossible in AOW 2. The game has high replayability due to different combinations (race + class), and you need to build different troops for different enemy type. At the same time, some races can struggle hard. For example, Goblins have huge problems with dealing with undead, cuz they have toxic attack, and undead have 100% resistance to toxic. The same applies to Frostling with Cold attack and Orks, because many undead have physical resistance. Some classes are really strong, like Warlord with pikemen 3lvl. At the same time, each class has their own pros, that you can utilize to win the match. Somebody will compare to AOW 2 and tell that each race don't have unique units, but that's because of new system of unit types, what was abscent in previous games. If compare to the newer games like Planetside or AOW 4, then this game still plays great, and I would definitely recommend to buy it if you see the discount.
