About
Sunkenland is an exciting post-apocalyptic survival and exploration game set in the near future when water covered most of the Earth. Explore sunken cities, scavenge resources and valuable technologies, build your base, trade, fight and survive.
Diving
Explore the sunken skyscrapers, nuclear powerplants and subway tunnel. Gather resources, seek out lost technologies, and collect rare pre-apocalypse items. Build diving devices to assist your underwater journey. And be wary of the unknown danger awaiting you in the depths of this planet.
Base Building
Build your base anywhere you want. Will it be a water stronghold, an abandoned ship base or an island penthouse? You need it to keep yourself refreshed, craft items, farm, store items, and stay protected. With the modular building system, you can create your ideal enclave and stylize it with decorations found throughout your journey.
Base Defense
Defend your base against clans of pirates and mutants. Build high walls, barbed wire, traps, surveillance system, and artillery to keep the enemies out of your territory!
Crafting
Build everything you need, tools, weapons, a jetski, and even a helicopter. You will need different workstations and blueprints in order to craft complex items.
Survival
Gather food, hunt sharks, grow plants, and manage supplies. Make your base sustainable as resources are scarce in Sunkenland.
Vehicles
Build and upgrade many types of vehicles including sailboat, jetski and gyrocopters. They will make your exploration much more convenient.
Fighting
Fight mutants and pirates. Raid enemy atolls and steal their resources. Use melee weapons, firearms and explosives. Fight on ocean and land. Operate mounted heavy weapons to destroy enemy boats.
Trading
Trade with friendly atolls for supplies, weapons, armor and rare items. There is no universal currency, only item for item.
Co-op
Cooperate with friends and survive this oceanic apocalypse as a group. Build bases, dive, explore and fight pirates together!

I had high hopes for the game. I have put some serious hours in the game always hoping the next patch would fix and evolve it. I have rebuilt my bases 3 times with the release of new versions. While there is some enjoyment in the game it can get a bit meh, i suppose i have played it through a few times now. Performance issue i have is when my base gets attacked, and i can be anywhere on the map, and its a"hook fest" - stuttering and lagging - until my defenses have taken out the enemies, this is on low graphic settings (my pc is well above the recommended requirements). The traders have also become obsolete imo, maybe early game they are useful, but i dont think they have really considered their role correctly. The building side is why i bought the game and that has kept me coming back to play. It seems they dont really know where to take the game anymore. Updates are few and they are not really adding value to game play.
I don't wanna drag this game down. It's alot of fun. But at its current stage, despite the release of its most ambitious content yet, It has some serious issues that CANNOT be ignored. To start, the biggest issue is that the system for aiming isn't stable, not in any sense. At some times, moving the mouse up and down may actually move it side to side. or even diagonally, and vice verse with side to side. Next, on easy mode, with Garrison and raid turned off, still has AI npc on mounted weapons, and they are aimbot, shoot you in the head when you pixel peep from a very considerable distance. Next, The controller layout is a huge wtf. Using a controller is highly not recommended, and even the aiming issues may or may not be present. Finally boats are glitchy especially when beached and may send you and your friends to outer space. All of these issues present regardless of whether or not you are in the water or not, and has made the game nigh unplayable. Despite game breaking problems, An excellent crafting and building system that is easy enough to understand, a realistic survival system, boats are still fun, realistic sounds, and decent mechanics. It really feels like an overhaul on the old system we played on i think 6.4 or something where many of these issues weren't taxing enough to care, yet they've become worse. I could really see this becoming a fantastic game, and honestly I've nearly enjoyed up to 60 hours in total both with myself and others. I will continue to watch and wait to see if improvements are made. PS the new boats are cool.
This game is excellent. There's a lot of hate from people that aren't in the know about this game's development. Yes, it is taking the devs a while to update the game and Yes they are mostly radio silent at this point, BUT at the same time, they are still actively working on bringing changes to the game. As of 6/13/2026 there was a recent major update to the game. The last one was 6 months prior(!) which is a long time, and it was a public test branch update, which isn't pushed to the game page as an actual update, but it provided loads of new content and major map updates. This update did the same exact thing again. So Long story short, they clearly have not abandoned the game, even if it feels that way. It isn't exactly a majorly popular game that has major sales, so I doubt they're making development money on this game anymore. They don't exactly communicate these days so its hard to see what their vision and roadmap is, which discourages many people. But I do have faith this is a passion project and they want to make it reach their vision. It is absolutely still a game worth buying and playing for $20, even if it was never updated again. There is hundreds of hours of enjoyability and the gun-crafting system is top-notch for such a small developer (it's no escape from tarkov, but it feels like tarkov lite customization and building). The start is always slow, but once guns are unlocked the raiding and exploration really opens up and it becomes quite a fun FPS.
I keep coming back to this game, play it for an hour, and then see where it is going... and stop playing it. It has promise... it reminds me of 7 Days to Die, you just have opponents who can shoot back. In short, when playing it, you swim out to a spot, loot piles of crud (mostly metal fragments), and then swim back to see what you can make out of it. This is no Assassin's Creed or Fallout 4. It has promise, however the map is just a tic-tac-toe board of things to loot. I was hoping for a Waterworld type experience... flooded cities to explore... I think I am tainted by my experience with Subnautica. I am guessing if you like 7 Days to Die, you'll find something similar in Sunkenland. The world is not a sandbox... you can't create blocks or destroy things to build anew, etc. Enemies are cardboard cutouts. It is fun at first... hopefully will get better in time.
I enjoyed this game when it first launched because I love a good RPG, material gathering, base-building game. Don't get me wrong, it took FOREVER for the Devs to update the game to a point where it's decently playable. This new update got me super excited, and I was hopeful it was a step in the right direction to think they hadn't abandoned it, or didn't care about it anymore. I am currently on a play-through of day 73. We have great guns, ammo, and a decent base that's halfway defendable. It's been fun so far, taking over the islands and gathering resources, and helping the new NPC's (when they DON"T glitch). But, playing tonight and beating the "final boss" was my realization that the new update was a BS attempt at giving their players what they want. Which, for me, is a fallout-esque, waterworld type of game that scratches all of the itches of RPG/survival. We spent hundreds of rounds of ammo, several lives, hundreds of meters walked back and forth, and an ungodly amount of hours in the game (90 hours isn't a lot for many, but it is a lot for my step-dad and I who love to game together, but not often), all for nothing. The boss drops some silver coins and a diamond ring. It honestly felt like an insult. Plus, the amount of glitches still around for an "early access" game 3 years into release (especially with the achievements not registering) is crazy. I really do love this game, and it has so much potential, but that mission combined with the lack of NPC depth was such a disappointment. If you want a game that you turn on a mod menu to breeze through and just build, I'm sure it would be fun. But, if you're looking for something to sink some hours in that will give you some type of gratification, this isn't it. Hopefully, they'll fix things in future updates. For now, though, it's not something I would buy again if it weren't on sale.
I like the overall gameplay and crafting progression. The art style is a little grungy for my taste the textures just kind of all blend together like rusty camo. The developers have put a tremendous effort in improving and expanding this game.
AI is trash, shoots through floors and walls spots you even before they render depending how the game feels AI might die, they just spawn behind you the game just makes angry more than enjoyable
New update messed up mouse controls to the point of the game being unplayable
Was a fun game but the AI enjoys camping your body (the patrol boat) killed us after stalking our position after destroying a boss. Then would not leave ever to get what we had looted. Then sends swarms of people to attack our base when we had none of our equipment. I enjoyed the game for a bit, but definatly needs work on enemys. Also others complaints about aiming and such are valid. I cant recomend this game in current state.
Amazing game for what it is currently and what it could be. However, I would not spend a dime on this game until they get a meaningful update out and actually patch the non respawning items and areas. Updates are way too slow, barely any communication from the devs. This is a small team, but smaller teams communicate more and update. Current videos and images are not a proper representation of the game currently.
