Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

this game was so bad, It made me question whether total war was good. shogun 2 saved me from death, Shogun 2 is my game. if shogun 2 has 0 fans, im dead. Total war Saga: TROY tries so hard to be a medieval two, but it turns out to be a warhammer 1. BOOOOO Shogun 2 is the best game, u want a good total war game? go play shogun 2

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

garbage
I keep trying to like this game, but I just can't. Lot of my issues are minor ones due to how animations are handled in the game. Examples: If playing on any mode other than the realistic one, heroes are unable to march with their armies. The units will move faster at walk than the general/hero, and they can't move through their own units. So what ends up happening is the hero will get caught in their own units, starting/stopping their walk animation as they get swallowed by their faster moving army. Only way around it is to have the hero far ahead of the army, much farther than I would personally like. Unit's can move through your other units though, but not your general. Another issue is how fast the units are in general. They are so fast their running animation can't even keep up with a lot of them. Leads to very weird and unrealistic running animations where units will run faster than what is humanly possible. Much like my other least favorite total war ToB, I can't begin to enjoy the game without mods to fix the little animation issues present in game. IDK, maybe one day I'll enjoy this game, I really want to because this time period is one of my favorites in history. As of right now though, I'm unable to. Not a horrible game, but it's not for me. I'd leave a mixed review if it were an option, but since there are just better TW games on the market I'm leaving a negative. I just can't recommend this one as it is, especially not at it's base price. If you want to check it out definitely wait for a heavy sale
This game has a bad rap, and I know Pharaoh makes a lot of it pretty null. But man I've been playing total war since Rome 1 and this is one of my favorites. The music and look is absolutely magical. If you have the mythos edition it creates an experience you won't fin din any other TW game. Absolutely adore it.
this is the worst total war game i play in my live.
Took about 40 hours, but once I decided to ignore the fantasy elements with the help of a few mods, TROY is a solId semi-total war experience
Troy is an odd game. Let me preface by pointing out clear pros, as well because some people tend to say opposite when it’s clearly false. - The visuals are excellent. Maybe the best in the series. - The art style is superb, I love the sepia/vase painting backgrounds and pictures in info panels. - The soundtrack is among the best in the series. - And so is the map, easily one of the best maps for a good strategic gameplay. - UI is certainly not ugly, and certainly is user friendly. - Factions, heroes, and their gimmicks, are so well designed, a step up compared to W3 IMO. HOWEVER, this game is full of little contrarian design decisions that drag it down. The default battle mod does not make any sense. It provides arcady battles exactly like in Warhammer series, but somehow lacks its unit variety. It has a well designed rock paper scissors unit variety system that would work in a slower, better paced iteration of the game. SO WHICH ONE IS IT? Good unit variety+arcade combat or tactical and slow with more RPS mechanics. Especially in the OG Truth behind the Myth, it is such an odd contradiction. Further, the game introduces deep on map systems with multiple resources and trading, influence and happiness systems, as well limited resources such as gold and bronze... BUT then it nerfs all the systems to a point, where they literally do not matter. Why do they create systems, that on paper encourage slow and thoughtful expansion, build orders that makes sense and eco/army balance, when you get abundance of all. Further, the AI is not capable of using these systems well enough, which is a bit of problem if the game tries to encourage to make friends to trade with. The only reason why it works is the scripted faction war stances, but that is such a crutch, as it kills replay variety. SO, is that a thumbs down then? NO, absolutely not. First thing first, Mythos expansion solves the low unit variety problem. I genuinely enjoy how the expansion expands the game even in vanilla. More units, proper mythical creatures, the battles are so much more fun. The only problem is the outrageous price. I am not the one to say, this should have been free, but if you get the chance, wait for Mythos to get under 10 euros. That would be much more fair price. But that is not all, they also added historical mode, while somewhat barebones, it is a great platform for mods, which I will talk about. OTHER DLC Another great thing are the faction DLC. While not worth full price, I highly recommend picking them up for 5 euros, but only after you play through some of the base factions. No need to waste money before you get to try the game. I really like Amazons the most, while not perfect, they are kinda fun and different compared to the Troy or Acheans choice. MODS What is really peak and makes this game trully worth it are mods. Do not get mislead by my hours, I have been playing the game for 150+ hours on Epic. Troy has some of the best mods out there. While there can be issues with occasional bug or corrupted save, the mods are way to go here, RADIOUS Just a quick mention, If you wanna go ham, pick this mod. Troy revised V4 Really genuinely nice mod. Highly recommended, if you want a Vanilla+ experience. The mod is more hardcore leaning, slows overall progress and battle speed, but it genuinely brings many, otherwise underutilized mechanics, to life without changing too much. One thing that is a shame is that battles in this mode are fun and tactical, but bit worse than in AGONY, which is a shame. I would love to play this mode with AGONY battle balance. Extended factions mod This is the true variety mod. Unlocks all the factions, gives them all unique rosters, and generally enhances many other aspects of the game. Also supports all the game modes which is amazing. I also like all the other changes this does, such as battle rebalance and once again, better utilization of trading, influence, happiness etc. One thing that bugs me out is poor unit balance. Some newly introduced units have downright broken stats, which means that without lategame army, you can not beat a lategame stack, you just lose to stats by default. If the balance got better care and tuned down all the higher end units by 20 percent and nerfed the biggest offenders, it would be a contender for my favourite Troy mod. AGONY And last but not least AGONY. This mod is peak, even though it is based on historical only. This mod takes all the mechanics, adds couple more and it is such a joy to wonder around and barely make it with tight plays, because all the decisions in this mod matter. It feels like agony captured what Troy could have been, if it was produced to be more hardcore, and if AI was competent and not cheating. Also, it does a similar thing as extended factions, and while the factions are a bit more generic here, you can still play anyone. Also the battles are so well done, certainly one of my top 3 TW battle modules exists in this one mod. Couple warnings though, AGONY has several annoying gimmicks. - saves get corrupted, which is super annoying because this mod runs one save only, I am side saving manually RN, but want to make a submod - generals can betray along with armies, this system is stupid, because I don’t feel there is much you can do to work with their reputation, I also modified AGONY to disable this, I may release a submod too - critical failure just deletes your agents, which is super stupid given how expensive they are, may just be a bug, but super annoying - and the mod may be bit too harsh for some, but I am fine with it ALL in ALL, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE THIS MOD, and consequently even Troy. It is a shame it took a DLC to turn it from ok game to good one, and it took mods to turn a good game into great one. But it is not just modders, it also shows how well designed some of the features are, even if the vanilla experience uses them like ♥♥♥♥.
