I win this game from https://discord.com/invite/mvKnpva This little game is made by RPG makers, but actually more like a point & click adventure games. There is no any RPG battle in this game, You only collect items and ingredients and craft spells. The story is interesting, too. Although it is tagged with nudity, but those pixel nudity from RPG maker is actually means no nudily. LOL.
I can't believe I managed to finish it in one sitting. Hooboy, Pilgrim Adventure did it again! It's another good point and click adventure by them I really enjoy the stories, and they keep me hooked from start to finish. I love the upgraded graphics, music, and sounds compared to the old game. You've really come a long way since the Space Pilgrim's Saga.

This is a fantastic point n' click adventure made in RPG Maker! The story is about an investigation into the gory death of a person found in an abandoned house. Who is he? Why was he in that house? What was he doing? What lead up to his death? The person checking into these questions is a forensic investigative scientist. As he unlocks the many mysteries that unfold, he discovers something about himself he thought he could never be. Love that spells and locations are unlocked as the protagonists reveals the secrets behind the mysteries. The puzzles aren't very difficult and hints about apparatus aren't hard to figure out. There are twists and turns to the story and there are also some pleasant surprises (such as stuff in the cinema theatre). Also make sure to watch the end credits all the way - nice surprise there too! This point n' click adventure is not for kids though. There's some very mature themes - although chibi style and you can't really see anything, lol!
Another great adventure game from Pilgrim Adventures. It shows that good writing can overcome everything including using RPG Maker.
Thumbs up! I liked the story about a skeptical scientist learning to cast spells in order to solve a murder. A lot of people won’t bother with this game since it was made with RPG Maker, but I thought the gameplay was okay. You don’t have to worry about grinding up through different levels, because there is no combat. Most of the challenge is in finding ingredients for the spells. Some ingredients weren’t easy to find, but if you get stuck, there’s a walkthrough available. The achievements are pretty straightforward. You either get them for casting spells or for getting to an ending. There are a few different endings so you have to replay the final encounter a few times to see them all. In a nice touch, the game encourages you to save right before that point, so you don’t have to replay the whole game again just to see the different endings. The game gives you an option to turn adult content on or off. I don’t know how much difference there is between the two versions, but I went through the game with adult content on and I’d rate it about PG-13, mostly for strong language. There is some nudity, but it’s drawn in a “low-detail pixel art style”, so they might as well not have bothered including it. If you’re just looking for sexy pics, then this game isn’t for you. Final verdict. If you don’t mind RPG Maker games, then it’s worth taking a look at.
A fun detective game, well worth the price, if you don't mind the pixel graphics. The only downside is that I felt it was too focused on the shock value and being "adult" rather than enriching the story and building the relationships between the characters. Towards the end also it was too much run and search for ingredients, instead of talking with characters and discovering clues, seeing this is an adventure game.

Although I've played and enjoyed the developers' three games in the Deed series, I didn't know about their other games (including this one) until recently. The Deed games are all about combining items, locations and time-lines to bring about a perfect crime for reward, revenge and/or to frame another character. A Sceptic's Guide to Magic is a much more linear RPG pixel-graphics game in that there is only one pathway through it until the final stages when choices leading to different (and mutually-exclusive) endings can be made. However, what it loses in freedom of action, A Sceptic's Guide makes up for in terms of a strong overarching story, and multiple locations & characters. A Sceptic's Guide is an RPG pixel-graphics game about a forensic scientist becoming involved in the world of magic while investigating a ritual murder, and developing his own unsuspected magical abilities. At various points he must master new spells in order to delve deeper into the crime, the suspects, and their motivations. Spells are learned from other characters or from books etc, but then have to be prepared by gathering their ingredients plus the "apparatus" items by which they are invoked. Items & ingredients can be purchased/traded (for actions or other items) from shops/businesses run by side characters, or found in gardens, woods, buildings etc. Finding people or things is where this game can be most frustrating, because of the repeated cycle of getting to a vehicle, then using the triggered map to select & move to a destination, then moving from the vehicle to a building, field etc, and finally trying to find the required character/ingredient/item. I spent so much time saving and leaving the game, opening XBL Laberbacke's invaluable guide (which I could not access in-game through the Steam console, or so it seemed) to find out where (or how) a particular ingredient or item could be found, and then re-entering the game to continue. There is an entertaining dark, adult humour running through the game, and low-resolution but emotive pixel graphics depictions of characters, locations, gore etc. I also thought that the sound and music were very apt and complementary to the story. There are achievements for casting each new spell and for each ending, and a more light-hearted bonus chapter once the main game is finished. I bought this game and Sentience: The Android's Tale for a combined 85% discounted price of UK £1.23; given my play time for A Sceptic's Guide and my overall enjoyment of it, I've obtained excellent value for money even before playing Sentience at all.
