About
ZIX IS IN EARLY ACCESS
In the boundless cosmos, order is dull—but chaos is beautiful.
Welcome to ZIX, a mind-bending VR roguelike where every run is a vivid hallucination, and every choice twists the fabric of reality.
You are an Acolyte, an agent of cosmic entropy and devout servant of the insatiable deity known only as Zix. Your calling?
Weaponize absurdity, embrace beautiful destruction, and remix existence.
Reality is just another offering.
Before each run, you'll harvest surreal blessings from three strange worlds—then fuse them through ritual, creating your next trial. These divine ingredients don't merely tweak numbers—they warp the very fabric of reality.
A few twisted possibilities:
Enemies leave tombstones that become deadly turrets.
Healing is doubled, but you can’t revive allies.
You’re stalked by a massive, unstoppable beast that kills anything it touches.
Friendly fire enabled—only one can reach the exit.
Each ritual births new mechanics, fresh perils, and divine complications. With millions of possible combinations, no two runs play the same—deeper your devotion, the stranger Zix’s blessings become.
No face buttons. No menus. Nothing to distract you and break the trance. Just pure motion and momentum.
First Instinct is ZIX’s custom-built movement & combat system—a divine dance where you dash, leap, wall-run, block, and hurl weapons using just two triggers and intuitive gestures that echo your intentions. It’s fast, fluid, and expressive—like pulling off stunts from an action movie, but you’re the one doing it.
Combat rewards precise timing, rhythmic improvisation, and devotion to Zix’s chaotic will. Chain your movements and attacks together seamlessly. Become a perfect vessel, reading your enemies and adapting without thought.
You don’t just fight—you perform.
The chaos doesn’t just warp the world—it rewires you.
Each run, Zix grants you new blessings: augments and weapons that transform how your Acolyte moves, fights, and survives. These aren’t mere stat boosts—they’re divine mutations, reshaping the character to match your playstyle .
Throw your blade and teleport on impact, cleansing the battlefield in a fiery AOE blast.
Fire arrows that fracture mid-air, seeking out targets with unholy precision.
Convert your dashes into explosions of divine retribution.
And beneath the flesh of mechanics lies the skin of expression: every Acolyte can be shaped, adorned, and corrupted. Customize your look with arcane attachments, palette shifts, and ritual markings—transform yourself into a servant worthy of Zix’s gaze.
With millions of combinations, no two runs—or Acolytes—are ever alike. Will you become a precision duelist, a physics-breaking chaos goblin or something…else?
Play solo or with up to two fellow Acolytes in seamless co-op.
Coordinate builds. Resurrect each other mid-chaos. Stack conflicting ingredients and see what happens—maybe brilliance, maybe a flaming collapse. Either way, ZIX adapts. Whether you ride alone or summon a coven, the run bends to your party’s collective will.
This isn’t just multiplayer. It’s a shared hallucination. A chaos ritual. A test of bonds in a world that breaks everything.
ZIX isn’t just chaos—it’s a riddle wrapped in madness.
As you mix ingredients and survive your runs, you’ll uncover new relics of entropy—some unlock secret bosses, others distort entire worlds, or open story paths that were never meant to be found.
Between runs, you’ll encounter cryptic NPCs. Symbols that recur. Events that feel like bugs, until they don’t. Patterns emerge. Meanings shift. Some doors only open when the Cauldron is stirred just so.
Every choice you make might lead to something beneath the surface.
Some profound truths are waiting for the right Acolyte.
Others are better left buried.

OH MY THIS IS GOOD One of the best movements I've ever seen in VR, every aspect of controls and movement is wonderfully done It takes some time to get used to cotrols but when u adjust to them, you instantly fall in love with this game, wooow! Sadly I don't have irl friends who have VR, if someone wants to play with me, text me :D
I was an *early* play tester for this game. Even at the early stages, the title has seriously epic art style. The movement system is fun. There were some slight issues months ago, but it was already in a fantastic state. Now that it is released to the public in EA and when I find some time, I am going to jump back in and really enjoy this one. Note that I didn't play multiplayer but I bet this would be a blast with a friend or two.
I played a decent amount of vr games but this one felt more fresh and new for me. It’s a genuinely fun rougelike that I enjoyed. I didn’t run into any severe bugs or glitches, the traversal and combat was fun, and I would play this again. The only downside is that it can start to feel bit repetitive but that can easily be mitigated by just bringing your friends with you.
I was an early access tester for Zix. The gameplay loop reminds me of Dungeons of Eternity (meta exclusive), but the movement is very different. At first the jumping and dashing takes some getting used to, but once you get accustomed to it the movement works very well. The gestures used to switch between the various weapons was very intuitive and allows for gameplay changes on the fly since all the weapons are at your finger tips. During the early testing phase the developer was very responsive to any issues experienced. Even to the point of sorting through my personal game logs to resolve a bug. I did not get a chance to play this game co-op, but I am excited to give it a shot now that the game is available to the public. With the developers motivation to make their product better I'm certain Zix will only continue to get better.
Zix is a fun shooting game that you can play by yourself or team up and play with friends it has great visuals and graphics . This game reminds me of a futureristic shooting game . Here are some reasons why I think this game is great it's something new which is great for vr , the different types of weapons is a plus, you can play Solo or with 2 other people, the fact there are 20 different enemies and 3 different worlds sets this game apart ,there are 30 plus upgrades and 10 new abilities this game is sure to keep me busy for awhile all in all from what I seen I would recommend it
I wasnt sure if I was going to like this game. Mainly because of the quest grade graphics. But It does look way better in the headset and because of the low poly textures you can crank the super sampling and refresh rate to the max. But as others have already said, the controls and movement in this game are absolutely incredible. You can double and even triple jump, fling yourself around, and climb. Switching weapons is gesture based so no clunky button pushes to switch weapons. This game even has cross play co-op with up to three players. So much fun here. Give it a try.
Unfortunately for me dungeon crawlers have not been the type of games I play very much. This game seems fun for the people it is intended to reach. I had a bit of fun but it is just not for me. It is in early access though and feels intended for quest native. The controller positioning on quest 3 to me just feels off when I originally tested. I was not able to use my preferred vr setup of mixed vr of quest 3 with index controllers (game refused to use the index controllers in that setup and didn’t have a steamVR headset to test with (most other game I play support mixed vr with controller detection instead of just headset)). The start menu was difficult to interact with because it was constantly moving. On to some good, it takes on a different style than other dungeon crawlers with the crystal system which I enjoy, the weapons personally were a bit hit and miss with me the unfortunately none of the weapons felt connected besides the shield and bow, I personally enjoy the weapons in Until You Fall a bit more. I hope for future updates that make the pc experience more enjoyable. I personally enjoyed the time I spent playing this game before the small issues with the gesture system got to me. It definitely has potential when these small issues get resolved and would love to try it again in the future.
"Just one more game..." In my short amount of time playing this, I could sense how intuitive the control scheme would become once everything clicked. For anyone looking for that satisfaction of a good rogue-lite run, you would do well to play this great representation in VR. Having friends to play this with is a hoot. My time unfortunately fell short due to some unlucky motion sickness. Still an easy recommend. It seems as though so many VR games fall exclusively under Meta, so having some PC support is so nice to see.
Played with Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop Pretty nice so far! The gameplay is pretty fast which isn't usually the case for VR games additionallythere are a lot of possible playstyles and ways to try to get through the levels. The movement is nice with jumping, dashing and climbing which allows you to be agile to dodge and attack. The gameplay loop is good and entertaining if you enjoy rougelikes. Overall i can currently recommend it!!
first hour review: The game has it's learning curve, but once you get past the tutorial and move to the action part you would have gotten used to the game. It is very fun and the characters have a certain charm to them. I highly recommend it for those people who love roguelike. I am a big fan of roguelikes, Isaac, RoR 1&2, Sts, MT 1&2, ball x pit, DRG/survivor, ect. This is my first real vr rougelike and I can see myself wasting away until morning saying "one more game"
